  1. ...and one more thought. Special Car+your kids=mind bending, mind altering good time, something you will remember forever. My son and I have driven back roads with the top down listening to rock and roll until the wee houurs of the ayem... stopped for a heart attack on a plate, and gone home happy. My 13 Y.O. Joanna loves to go out riding. We put the top down, she'll bring a book, and we'll just cruise on down a curvy Ohio back road, having fun. What better way to pass the love of cars to your boys? Knowing you, I'd have to say love of cars is one of the biggest parts of your life. Pass it on to your boys. They will remember that Camaro and the times they had with dad. Chris
  2. ...and your 40 called collect from Jersy to Ohio. He seconds the 56 ranch wagon and suggests driving a Mustang as well. Oh, and one more word. V6 Challenger. You could also go used and get a Charger. Very good road car, RWD, Camino hates them so you'd have something for him to needle you about. Rear seat headroom is not good, but the Charger is a very good road car. How big/how old are your boys? Chris
  3. Exactly. Even if you keep her car... I just can't stand the thought of buying a normal car. And once she has a "fun car" she will love, she will think that way too. Seriously. Life is too short to drive boring cars. I commute 45 minutes each day to work with the top down. The difference in attiude a fun car can make is immeasureable. Besides, if your getting rid of a Ford and can't be talked into a Sienna (I'm going to jail for man slaughter if you buy a Sienna by the way) you need another Ford. Since the F-150 will get crushed, you will have space in your garage/shop for another car. 56 Ford Ranch wagon (didn't they build a two door wagon?) with a few modern touches. Your Buick will love you forever for a proper garage mate. Really it will. Chris
  4. So your free and single and don't have kids. Here is the hot tip. You are thinking of buying a pickup truck. I used to live in Georga. People down there love pick up trucks. The Colorado/Canyon will need some love. Make a road trip south... While your on the way, check out the blue ridge parkway. Good friends are rare. She sounds like one. Life is short, dammit. Enjoy her. Chris
  5. Let me Clarify, I know a 67 isn't "like that" completely. But I did see a two/three door 67 today. Didn't see it for long, but it did have a 67 se and it wasn't a 4 door 'burban. Sorry I wasn't clear in my post! Chris
  6. It was fine. If you don't want to re-open that stage of your life, so what? Does she know your not into her...or any other "her" for that matter? Besides, my friend Judy dated a guy from 7th grade through high school. At graduation, he told her that he was gay. She has never gotten married, he has never settled down with a guy. They are made in a way for each other, still good friends...but now both over 50 years old. Just my two cents. Set up a lunch sometime maybe. Chris
  7. Here is another thought...why buy another n "normal" car ever again? You could keep her current car running 4 ever, or until the boys are out of the house. Buy a car you really want...Solstice, Sky, Mustang Convertible, Camaro, etc. We have 5 kids and no "normal car" Besides, think of how much fun you can havewt your kids with a cool car. Being a parent with a roadster is fun, as the kids know they are getting just mom or just dad when they go in the Miata. A Solstice could work the same way. For times you all have to go somehwere, get an extra cab beater truck that runs well. Maybe not a total beater, but a 2001 Ford/Chevy Dodge 2WD could be had cheap. perhaps. But yeah...I'd open it up to Camaro/Mustang/Solstice/Sky. But that's just me. And my wife tolerates my automotive passions well. And with your minivan comment we can assume a Sienna is off the shopping list? Chris
  8. You and me BOTH! My 71 Chevelle was a factory green car and I repainted it green. People thought I was nuts, but that was one of the best looking cars I have ever owned. My 66 Fastback was originally signalflare red, I painted it white. If I had kept it was going to paint it green. I just like Green cars. If I get an MCS I want British racing green. Chris
  9. Jesus, sweet mother of Mary. After looking at these pics again, I could almost see myself owning a Buick. Did I just say that? Chris
  10. Nice to have GM over the top on top better isn't it, OC? The Buick is MUCH more appealing. Chris
  11. Most of our local GM dealers are pretty much crap. That being said, I think the Camaro will speak for itself. This is one of the best cars that GM ahs built in 40 years. If people don't like it, screw them. Chris
  12. It's the steel grey your thinking about, right? Chris
  13. An atom would be awesome, but I'd prefer a Caterham Lotus 7. Chris
  14. This is what I would do...the fun stuff. Including Bonneville and Eldora. I've lived in Ohio for 22 years and haven't been to Eldora, dammit! And I'm going to Bonneville before I die. As for cars...a Cooper S. And an old truck, prefer Chevy or GMC, 1948-1955 Advance design series if we can do it. My wants are simple. Chris
  15. You mean a 75, right? Only GM ragtop for 76 was a Caddy. Chris
  16. Love the Y photo, TED... Chris
  17. If you can't find the G8 you want I could keep my eyes open around here. A few local dealers have a pretty good selection of them still. But for my money, it would be a Malibu. Chris
  18. Dammit man....I must have seen ten nicely done up Colorado's today, including a kick ass lifter 4 door that was just killer. Not what I am going to buy for my next car, but...killer. Keep us posted, dude. Chris
  19. I'll get another pic as soon as I can... Chris
  20. I just saw a two door burban or caryall or whatever just like that. Believe it was a 67. Chris
  21. Malibu, without question. Chris
  22. You nailed the car on the left, trying to figure out the car on the right. My guess is 34-36 Plymouth. Chris
  23. I also saw a Fit broken down on the side of the road, but it was yesterday and the prev. model Fit.
  24. Credit to Toyota- You get a fullsize truck and one that's half he size for the same cost...and it's even the same truck! Chris
  25. It's non Ford IIRC and also non GM...I'll get some more pics in a few eeks when I can get back down there and then maybe we an figure out what it is.
