  1. I love my new sig, and can't wait to see your with the Blue G8. But right now...if I had to get a Camino it would be a 64 or maybe 6 with the good loking SS hood they had that year. Chris
  2. I can relate, Oldsmoboi to the class of the Olds... And the the CTS...both of which way out do any damn jellybean modern car. My life goal right now (n othm)is to never buy another "normal" car... Be interesting to see what you end up with next, sir... And Six Eight...I feel the same way about my 66 NOTHING in the world like a 60's Pony Car... Chris
  3. Get a better set of tires. You won't regret it. Chris
  4. Exactly. While some of the other stuff isn't bad, that Camino is a car... Chris
  5. Camino, XP...wow...NICE CARS! Chris
  6. That version of the GTI is a fun car... Chris
  7. Actually in several communities around here IIRC it is illegal to plant that type of mimosa.. It is considered a weed and invasive... Chris
  8. ...at least we're not talking a rolls or a bentley... Stopped by Coachbuilt Motors today, a local resto shop that works on vintage Rolls. 58 Bently was in there getting a brake job...brake drums, were $2600 apiece... Nothing like a twelve grand brake job to make you think about the costs of running a vintage car... Chris
  9. I've actually thought of planting one of those in my yard... Chris
  10. We may be getting a Diesel Benz in the family...my 16 year old son's friends grandfather is thinking of giving him one just because the car has sentimental value to him and he wants to see it preserved. It's not in real great shape though...so it would become a father son project. Chris
  11. Mothers for a show car... Chris
  12. MgGuires Cleaner wax works well on a daily driver... Chris
  13. Jack Daniels...
  14. LOVE BF Goodrich, ran them on My Miatas, my 66 Mustang, my 55 Chevrolet, and every other car (almost) that I've owned. For some reason they work well. For racing, Hoosier tires seem to work well. We ran them when I was crewing for an SCCA team and they were great... Too bad Hoosier autocross tires for the Miata are $210 EACH! Chris
  15. What else? My 1966 Mustang Fastback, in white. 289, 4 speed, used to lead the kids in the back and head for the beach in the summer...wish I had it back My 2002 and my 1991 Miata's, no longer own the 91 but love the 2002 to death... My 1955 Chevrolet, perhaps my other favorite car... My 1971 Chevelle, great times in htat car, owned it for like about 7 years, just like the Mustang and the 55 Chev. Next car on the list to own---MINI Cooper S or VW TDI Golf...or VW GTI. Chris
  16. You might try No-LoX, a grey grease for electrical connections. Works prettygod... BTW, when is the MOPAR back in action? Chris
  17. Interesting. We moved our local autocross away from the west side after haydocy enlarged their lot and cut into the lot we used to race in... Been to Haydocy a couple of times, wasn't real impressed with them... Never bought a car there... And yes, most GM dealers are assholes IMHO. This is perhaps the #1 reason I am not currently driving a GM car. Chris
  18. I can take you to a couple of really cool old Junkyards. Couple of junkyards still ahve cars from the 1930's, if you know where to look. The one down on blaine highway hasn't been changed much since the 70's... And I can take you to a GTO guy who has about 40 parts cars and a ton of project cars...including a 2+2 Pontiac Convertible of all things. (believe it or not, IIRC the 2+2 convertible was painted purple of all things...) And one of the project cars, if it is still there is a rusty but complete blue on white 67 Ram Air GTO, complete with the 4:33 Posi rear end and all the goodies. Same guy had a very fixable 65 Goat hardtop, in a billion pieces, along with the complete 389 and the complete tripower for the car. Not to mention an Orbit Orange 70 Judge that was pretty much gone, and a 64 GTO ragtop... I could also take you to a resto shop that does the kind of cars sixty eight would like...say 1930 Rolls and Caddy's. They do Studebaker Avanti's also... I can possibly get us into a couple of big name race shops as well...or we could go play in traffic at Mid Ohio if you get bored. Chris
  19. Beer ...which makes me think of Ale, which o tn makes me think of old british sports cars. It always comes back to cars. Chris
  20. Hot and humid here in Columbus, AC is running full speed and it's still a little warm in the house... Chris
  21. Just wait, the oil companies and the idiots in the middle east will make sure it goes back up. Chris
  22. Oh, and a few other interesting cars... Headed north, hauling ass, a BMW M1...how's that for rare. a nice 67ish olds 88 fourdoor... Nice 76 Grand Prix, black, well preserved, heading east on Broad Street. At a car show...in the middle of nowhere...a white on white 72 W-30 Cutlass Hardtop. How many white on wite W-30 cars are left? Not many I'd bet. Also, 50 Ford, mild custom, still running a flathead, immaculate. 56 Ford Vicky, pink and white, I'd kill to own it, amazing car, mild updates. a 71 Cuda 340 ragtop with a shaker hood, yellow and black, stunning, they can my firstborn son I want this car... 69 Road Runner, Hemi orange, very well preserved. 66 Mustang Fastback, Emberglow, which is a good color for the year. It was running big and little American mag wheels and looked like a 70's refugee. One of those "kit cars" that Chryco came out with based on the Aspen, about 1978. Cool! Very nicely done 36 Ford 5 window coupe, street rod. Glad to see it was Ford powered, nice car. Chris
  23. Actually if you ever come to Columbus, I'll show you the 63 Split AND a 66 Roadster that has been lost inside a barn since the 70's... Chris
  24. What is it with all of these stude hawks coming out of the woodwork? Saw another studebaker today, but not a Hawk... Chris
  25. Watch the Toyota-dealer sponsered bus... Chris
