  1. ...and I wonder what he means about Muncie yard? I grew up in Muncie, Indiana and there were several yards around twenty five years ago with cool old cars. Would be cool if any of them were still around... Chris
  2. ...as for me, I am more of a GTO guy. Great site, thanks for sharing it! Liked the maroon 68-69 (think 68) GTO ragtop in his friends section that was undergoing resto, also the aqua blue Goat his sister is standing in front of. Liked the dropped 64 that lady brought from down south too... Even though the cars he sends to the crusher are junkers, it is still sad seeing the claw go through the roof of the Poncho's in the "gone forever" section. balthazar, if I get ever a chance to go out east I'll buy you a steak and enjoy your company if your willing. I forgot how beuatiful these old fullsize cars are, I remember them from when I was a kid...and rarely see them at car shows around here. Seeing a 65 Grand Prix in horrible shape was also a shame, as i saw a beuatiful black one at the Broad and High street intersection yesterday... Chris
  3. ...as far as when Gm and Pntiac really started to die, I would say in 74 with the death of the SD 455 and High-Po cars...but that's jsut me. GM really lost its design mojo after about 72 or so. The later cars are cool, but they are a shadow of their former selves. Chris
  4. What is bad is that the ST reflected what GM has always been about. While I still love them, I think they have abandoned the better part of their heritage... Chris
  5. ...and no, I don't want a new Camaro in John Deere green, either... Chris
  6. gm4life is sooo lucky to have a good GM dealer near him. Most of the ones in Columbus, Ohio just royally suck. Again, Daryl Z71, not suprised they tried to rip you off... But again, a great looking car...in the orange... Too bad you can't order it in the blue that comes on the new challenger...actually either of them. Wish you could still order a car in a custom color from the carmaker. FACT-in 1968 a customer ordered a Mustang GT Fastback from Ford, and wanted in apinted John Deere Green...and Ford did it. Be nice if companies could do that now. But thanks again for the pics gm4life... Chris
  7. I'd say the 30K figure would be closer to correct if nicely done.... Chris
  8. I've seen some old CJ's go cheap... Chris
  9. ...oh, and when you get done with that the local pick-n-pull ahd a couple really clean Shadow body shells, if you feel like another project... One was green and one was red, IIRC. Also had a light blue one but IIRC it got crushed.... Chris
  10. You may want to clean and paint the motor bay while it's empty. Sounds like you plan on keeping this car forever, and little details like a nice underhood detail are things you'll love for a long time to come. Pulling for this thing to get back on the road. What I really need is for you to briung this to one of our buckeye Miata Club autocrosses with that 3.5. We have a guy named Duke who brings a Pontiac GP GT to them, and it would bve nice to have an other midsize FWD car to give him a real run for his Money. Better yet would be you and GM4life, he could run the IMPY and we'd have two midsize/fullsize cars to run against the Pontiac... Chris
  11. Boobs and wrenches, the best of both worlds... Chris
  12. ...and it's white too, one of the best colors IMHO for that year Pontiac...Chrome on that looks GOOD! Chris
  13. It's worth whatever sexual acts you have to perform and whatever organs you ahve to sell. One of the Junkyards up here (JC radiator on Williams) had two of these before they crushed both of them...and yes they were both Pontiac Safari's... Chris
  14. Lionel Trains (boy next door to me growing up had both...both trains and GI Joe were fun...)
  15. My wife and I both have Friday off of work, we may go drive this thing. I kinda like it... Chris
  16. Cobra (yes, I have a one track mind...)
  17. I noticed the miles, this is what attracted me to the truck. I have always liked that bodystyle of chev. truck. My question is...what is fair? Chris
  18. Oh, and I can't link the indivicual truck, it is #67 of 67 Vehicles. Maroon Chevrolet ex. cab 4x4 truck. Thanks for any help you can offer... Chris
  19. http://www.buckeyehonda.com/used-cars.aspx Check out this Chevrolet truck...my 19 year old daughter Elizabeth wants a Chevy truck and I've been looking around. Thinking of going and test driving this one...but the price seems really high. We bought our Safari Van and our Concorde from this dealership and they treated us right...but this still seems high. What should this thing sell for? Chris
  20. Was working on something (don't worry gm4life, it was domestic and not imported) with a friend and was putting one last wire tie on to finish up. My foot slipped on an oily spot on the concrete and when I fell forward my left hand got jammed between the rotating fanblade (metal) and the fan shrowd. It was a quick second before I could get it free. A very good doctor put eveything back together...but OUCH! Thankfully, amazingly, no broken bones or badly damaged tendons, but lots and lots of stitches. It's amazing how much you can bleed from your hands if you cut a few arteries. Thanks much to my friends for getting me to the Emergency Room right away, and thanks to the good folks at Adena Medical for getting me right in and getting the bleeding stoped. I've always wondered, everytime I've seen a cylcist or motorcyclist riding without gloves how much blood you could loose from an injured hand. Well, I guess now I know. Been working on mechanical things for abot 35 years and this is the first time I've hurt myself like that, so I don't feel too stupid. But...be careful working on your project cars, everyone... Chris
  21. We are all depressed because of what's happening to GM and the economy. Maybe we all need to follow your lead, Camino, and go play in the garage with our cars. Chris
  22. ...but it is creating nerw opportunities... Glad to see her running again, !!!TED!!! Chris
  23. I love Avanti's, good to see this one getting some love... Chris
  24. Now you just need to find a cheap Cutty as another old GM car...ahhh...the addiction begins... Chris
  25. That thing is stunning, thanks for the pics Cubical. As both a 71 and 70 Chevelle former owner, I actually like the 71 bodystyle better. To me, man...wow..I've always wanted an El Camino of that bodystyle. Too bad the rust monster took over.. Chris
