Gran Torino is one of the best movies of the last couple years IMHO...the car didn'tn hurt, but the story and acting were very good... Saw it with the local VW club and we all liked it... Chris- HARDTOPS you might not remember
Which is why domestics or high production imports are the way to go. I have started doing all of my own work on my cars... Balthazar, I love diesels but I'll hold Sylvester down while you punish him if he swaps the B-59... Chris- Car-Sales Rebound Seen for June
I think he real question is our long term direction as a nation. As Oldsmoboi said, anyone who wants things to return to the way things were needs an anvil dropped on their head... Chris- Do you think I hate Pontiac?
+1 Chris- Word Association
And I'm going to break the rules and reply to my own post... Superformance Cobra! (They are built in South Africa)- Word Association
South Africa- "I don't much care for..."
+1 Chris- 1974 Pontiac Grand Am 4-door
I still miss my 78 Cutlass...a local classic car dealer has one with 20K on it, if I had cash for it it would be in my garage. A 73-77 Cutlass or Grand Am would be cool to own, IMHO. Chris- What's your favorite military plane or jet?
B26 Maurauder for me followed by the B-29. Anyone ever been to the air force Museeum in Dayton, Ohio? That's my fav. place on this planet... Also like the P-47 Thunderbolt, very tough plane... Chris- June Car Spotters... What did you see?
an old 914 in really good shape...- Ugh,
Actually ended up going to the SCCA rallycross out at national trails...skipped vintage at Mid-Ohio. Great weather here also.. Chris- Carlisle
.,..that black 55 210 two door chev looks great, as does the white 65 two door wagon...although I think my fav. car in the bunch is the 72 (?) Olds Pace car Hurst hardtop... Chris- Carlisle
Thanks for the pics guys, as the former owner of two chevelles I really liked the Camino's and also the 50's stuff...I have a soft spot for 50's cars. The new Camaro looks good in yellow but better in orange... Chris- Happy Birthday Moltar
Happy birthday, dude... Chris- June Car Spotters... What did you see?
It was kind of interesting...in the Miata club we have a car called "ketchup and Mustard" because it is a red car with yellow stripes. Was thinking of calling that guy, and passed a whole car carrier full of new Camaro's on I-70, and all of the Camaro's were red or yellow. My sightings have been a little strange, after not seeing them for years I've seen almost a dozen VW air cooled powered sand rails out in the wild and on the street. Passed on this ayem in fact. Also, two of god's own original clean LTD two doors, a white 71 and a green 75. Both looked showroom fresh. After seeing the white 71 Vette and the Yellow 72 Vette, and telling ya'll about it...saw a white 71 Mustang Mach one and a yellow 72 Mustang Mach 1. Odd. Also a BMW 1 series set up as an autocross or track day car, by itself on a car carrier headed somehwere. Also, must be that gm4life has made me more aware of them...but I've seen a lot of IMPY SS FWD cars in black lately...several of them sweetly detailed and very clean... Also, an air cooled VW bus in orange and white... Chris- So what did you learn today?
Try it on a motorcycle. I have several friends that ride, and they tell me a big bridge with a bike is a lot of fun, esp. with the wind blowing. My friend Rick was talking the other day about the Macinaw bride in Michigan, which has those grates where you can look strait down 200 feet into the water, and how much fun it was to ride over that! Personally, I think bridges and tunnels with a roadster are a blast... Chris- So what did you learn today?
How is that project coming...the Intrepid needs to be back on the road, dammit... Chris- So what did you learn today?
I won't even ask... Chris- So what did you learn today?
I can think of several...I've had to fix lift stations, which are basically pits with electric pumps to store and move crap/raw sewage. Pumping one out and replacing the motors is about eleventy billion times worse than a litter box. Chris- So what did you learn today?
The MINI is just a great car... Chris- 1974 Pontiac Grand Am 4-door
That is a very rare car...in 74 I was in the 4th grade and my teacher was going to order a 4 speed two door Grand Am manual shift from Pontiac. Pontiac called the dealer back and said that he couldn't get cruise control with a manual, so he switrched to auto. I probably have the wrong stat, but I remember reading somehwere that less than 200 Grand Am's were built with a manual in 1974. Wish that car was in better condition, ti would make a nice family hauler. Chris - I shouldn't even be considering this...
