  1. Dude, you just gave amazing, irrefutable proof that you are wierd enough and whacked enough to post at Cheers and Gears. Glad to have you here, my friend. Chris
  2. +1. Amazing that the biggest money wasters in all of our society are asking the buisiness people of the big three to be frugal. I wish we could put congress under the same scrutiny that we are putting the big three under. That might solve a lot of our problems right there. Chris
  3. Glad to see the diesel selling well. Now if they would just bring over the Sirocco. Chris
  4. When I bought my 70 Chevelle back in high school, it still smelled of the perfume of the wife of the previous owner. Since I was a typical horny American teenager, I would say THAT was my favourite air fresh. But I use a pine scent when I put up an air freshener in my car. Chris
  5. I don't know about steam from exhaust pipes but there is a lot of hot air surrounding certain Asian cars... Chris
  6. Oh, and I feel the same way as the writer in the link Camino posted-the G8 really does bring back the feeling of the old Pontiac. Chris
  7. But for those of us who remember the Pontiacs of the 60's and 70's, the Pontiac name has a majical touch... I could live forever on a planet where the only cars were 60's and 70's Pontiacs. Seriously. Chris
  8. Equinox- Glad to see the 85 Caprice is being preserved. I love cars of that Era... Chris
  9. Cerebis isn't going to and things are going to get very, very ugly in Toledo, OH if the Jeep plants close. Think about the people that are about to get out of work and the massive wad of absolute utter $h! that is about to fall down on this country, dude. You (smk4565) seem almost happy that Chrysler is going by-by. While I'll admit Chrysler cars aren't my thing, I do believe in an open market and free competition. Killing off the domestics will mean much less competition and much less need for the Asians and Euro's to build solid, enjoyable cars. Chris
  10. The 370Z makes me think that there is life in Nissan yet. NOTE-I am expressing personal opinion of a dislike for Nissan cars. Painfully, I will admit they do seem to build a really solid car. I've ridden in 250k-300k mile cars that seemeed MUCH better bolted together than a Toyota or Honda of the same milage. They just don't build anything that I think is class leading or appeals to me on an emotional level. Chris
  11. The scary thing is that if we reduce Pontiac to Solstice and G8, the number of USA built Pontiacs will be less in a month than they built in a day just a short while ago. Pathetic and sad, methinks... Chris
  12. +1 The challenge is part of the fun! Chris
  13. ...and YES to a wood dash car...I love it in the 60's GTO's, I love it in old British sports cars, and the MINI wood dash is as close to real as any simulated wood has gotten. Chris
  14. Before I die I'm going to own a British racing green car. We have three Miatas in the buckeye Miata Club that are BRG (91 Special Edition). I would prefer an original Lotus Elan, Caterham 7, or MG-TC in BRG...But I'd take a MINI or Miata gladly. (BRG was not available orig. on the TC, BTW) Chris
  15. The purple color is hot...I've seen a few of the Purple turned into SCCA racecars, and I almost cringe at the thought of someone wrecking a purple one on track. If I find one used at a good price in Purple, I'm selling my house! Chris
  16. We are getting off topic, though. Maybe we should post some nice Buick pics so Pauli can cheer up.... Actually, I think you gay guys need to try the midwest. Out here most of the gay men I know have long term partners. It would be interesting to know if their is a difference in gay culture between the midwest and the coasts. Actually, a couple of the guys who live in a building we are finishing are gay and are car nuts. I'm not making this up...he goes by B.J. and his boyfriend goes to the name of V.J. He drives a Mitsu Eclipse and his boyfriend drives an RX-8 Mazda. I'm not much of a judge of males, but they both seem to ahve that dark cleanshaven muscular look that the 345,564,667.329 gay men who post here seem to like. Chris
  17. GM should have the whole Astra linup here in the states...that would be cool...some cool variants of that. Chris
  18. Another car I could just kill myself for not buying. A REAL 409, 1 OWNER! Car that was available locally a few years ago, about 20,000 original miles, still had all of the original paint, etc. They wanted 14 grand for it...it was a base car, dig dish hubcaps, 2 door post Biscayne. Blue on Blue. Should have bought it...would love to know what happened to it. But it would be cooler as a Pontiac. Chris
  19. But he's still short a buck. Chris
  20. I find strip clubs a complete turnoff. Actually, I like artistic nude photography though...and gay guys have it better. Seems like more artistic effort is put into photographing the male body. I think most guys get a camera and a naked girl and think its art. Gay men have a much better idea of what constitutes art and the human body. Chris
  21. This thread is too funny. Glad we all can laugh at religion and politics... Chris
  22. Past the deadline, but 4 1 2 Chris/66
  23. If they didn't it would be a nice "phantom" Chris
  24. It's fair for them to show viability, they are asking for 25 billion or so...chump change compared to the finance companies, but still 25 billion is 25 billion. On a personal note I really don't envy any of our leaders. Chris
