  1. Out of his price range... He's considering the post 1994 Saab 900 though.
  2. I suggested the Alero... as for the Regal, it's so similar to the Century in his mind that he'd rather sacrifice the handling and performance for the potential for more economy out of the 3100 (I've heard some great economy stories from that car.
  3. The other day, my friend's 1996 Buick LeSabre died on him and he's already spent in excess of $2500 in the last two months rebuilding the engine and doing the head gasket... turns out there was something was screwy with the rebuild on the engine and the cylinder chambers need to be re machined... the fuel gauge and odometer have stopped working properly, and it's eating coolant into either the engine or tranny. For a car with 170'000K, he doesn't want to keep pumping money into it... meaning he's in the market for a new vehicle. He says he doesn't want another American Car, and is looking at some Toyotas, Hondas, the Volvo 850/S70 and the Jetta. I've tried to talk him into another GM, but he won't budge, and I'm stumped as to what the best way to convert the guy would be. I already know what car I'm going to push, the 97-05 Buick Century, and maybe the 2001-2003 Malibu, as they are the big JD Power winners for quality and reliability, and he wants a car a bit smaller, but a lot better on gas than his previous car. I know these puppies have the 3100 in them which are reliable and thrifty on gas, but I'm not sure how I can present the info. Any Insight?
  4. She's a beaut! It's lucky they found Plastic-Man's body the day after (although it's kinda twisted it was found by young children who were walking to school who had stopped to admire the car) if the killers put the body in the trunk, then the car would have been ruined by the smell. As far as I know, the carpet is blood-stained, but I thought the seats were atleast somewhat cleaned.
  5. Welcome to the 21st Century I guess
  6. Actually, the Series I technically died after 1995 as the Dustbuster vans carried the 3800 SI until the 3.4L took over in 1996.
  7. Well, Just after getting the Cavalier back from the dealership for a 700 dollar Brake Job, as well as a Wheel/Front End Alignment and A the replacement of a broken bolt that was causing the clopping noise that I described earlier. Now something new has popped up. Whenever I turn the steering wheel either when the car is stopped, or at <35KPH, I get this high pitched "Wheeeeeeee" sound coming from the column? It's lower pitch than the sound of the electric steering on the Maxx, but it's a new sound that has now only popped up... Any Insight??
  8. God, I love that colour! Every time I see it, I ask myself why only ~500 Auroras got it.
  9. To answer the question, they're sold out through the beginning of 2015.
  10. w00t, when counting orders, commitments and purchase rights, the number is around 1088.
  11. Yeah go for the 98, the 3800 over a 3500 any day. If I was to consider a W Body of that era it would be a Regal, Century, or GP.
  12. I was driving along the other day, and I noticed that the Calgary Police Service is replacing their Impalas, and to a smaller extent, their Crown Vics with Dodge Chargers... from what I saw, it looked real mean with a reinforced bumper, steel wheels and a blacked out grille (Sorry, no pics). This has led me to ask the question- is Dodge winning back favour in the police market... How have these cars caught on elsewhere?
  13. Aurora Impala SS CTS Escalade Seville Intrigue Lambda Sky/Solstice Corvette (Duh) Malibu Maxx
  14. HHR also probably loses sales from Malibu Maxx and Equinox right?
  15. Here's a commercial for the Oldsmobile Delta 88 of the mid 80s, featuring Dick van Patten: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vs7QenI1fm
  16. In the family: 1 Oldsmobile 2 Cadillacs 6 Chevrolets 4 Pontiacs
  17. Oh there are so many: Almost bought a Dk. Red 1995 Chevrolet Lumina APV LS and a White 1999 Chevrolet Venture LS from this one guy (not the regular salesman that we've done business with for decades), he offered us a better deal than our friend, but lied to us both times and my father figured that we could trust our friend better. He was right, we bought a 1994 Pontiac Trans Sport and the Green 1999 Venture LS. We went back, and bought four more cars from the guy since. In 2005 we almost bought a new Navy Blue Uplander LT AWD, for 36,000$, but instead, got a Navy Blue 2005 Venture LS carryover with all the same equipment except AWD for 28,000 after incentives. Parents almost bought a 1989 Pontiac 6000, but bought a 1989 Grand Am instead.
  18. Yeah, I love it when he mocks really bad cars.
  19. No, I meant the 1961 and 1962 (Dodges and Plymouths). This was Virgil Exner's swan song at MOPAR, and they were a disaster (he downsized everything, and made them all look like Valiants. 1962 Fury 1962 Dart
  20. Some People made some intriguing ads for the Malibu: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=driveMalibu2008 Taurus=Lame Altima=French Fusion=Mexican Camry=Boring.
  21. At Least they weren't ugly like the '62s.
  22. Chris is right, I think those are Mazda wheels.
  23. Yeah, that event organizer is crazy not to clean it off... who knows how much more quickly it might decay at this rate?
