I still can't get over the Smog, growing up the air here was so clean and then over the past years it just seems to have spiked. People had trouble getting around yesterday because of this, they shut down all the streets in a three block radius which unfortunately includes, in this case both 36th Street and Richmond Road...

That's a sweet concept and I would hope it was done right! The two door wagon isn't dead- would be nice to see stuff like that offered on a production level.

I heard that even though the FlexFuel engines run on E85 it wreaks havoc on injectors... As for the 3.5, it is insanely good on gas. Haven't had the time to really benchmark the new 09 but my 07 gets between 23-25 in town at all times and that number will probably edge up a bit once I have all my tune-up stuff coming due @ 60k km due. Even so it still works out to 600km+ per tank in town. Drove it to the coast last year and the average US MPG for the trip from Calgary across the Rockies and Cascades to Vancouver was a hair over 37MPG. Close to 1000km on the equivalent of 1 tank of gas.

Thank god there aren't any of those pesky emissions tests and inspections in Alberta, the hassle of it would really honk me off living elsewhere especially when you get used to not having to deal with it.

Cobalt and G5 got recalled for that damn Electric Power Steering that I hate. I'll let everyone know if the new motor makes even a slight difference.

Yeah it was a pointless car... although for some reason my 07 G5 was less problematic in the rattle dept. than my 08 Cobalt was.

I live in Canada and that has everything to do with it. This has been shopped around both by myself and my parents and in most cases I've been quoted MORE. There's a dichotomy in Alberta between what similar drivers of the different genders pay up to age 25 (I'm pushing twenty now FYI). At age 25 my insurance will drop off substantially to about 650$/year or so but until then whatever I pay, a girl with the same driving record as me would pay half of that figure. Not fair. Some of it does have to do with the car for some reason. It completely escapes my why the Cobalt/G5 is so expensive. I even got a quote on a new Corvette for insurance (mainly out of curiosity) and the insurance on that for me would be only marginally higher than the 4000$ I pay on the Impala- but still much less than the 5500$ I had been paying on the Cobalt. Makes no sense but all of the major insurance outfits I've shopped to have been the same. Big V8 Cadillac or even a Corvette still cheaper to insure than a plain as they come Cobalt LT.

Oh he's strong willed, more so than me. I don't think anyone could convince him to do anything he didn't want in the first place. He's reacted favorable to the Bonneville, Grand Prix and Park Avenue- he's open to the Seville or Deville but pretty much categorically denies the 1st Gen W-Body Impala- doesn't like the look of them.

I would echo Oldsmoboi, you don't want fake flooring, laminate is gross. At our house we have this great mill run (natural color variation) oak flooring that we got for real cheap because they had discontinued the shade and replaced it with one that was slightly darker. Look at some of the smaller hardware stores for good deals like that too if the Bamboo isn't to your liking.

I don't have any yet... but it's inevitable.

Yeah the 3100 doesn't get much love, but even though it's underpowered it's still more hardy than the 3400.
