  1. There is yet some wheeling and dealing to be done... but this season there just hasn't been any good year old used cars coming across the lots for some reason. The same dealership has 4 ex-rental G8s for sale for 30k$ a piece and thats about it.
  2. So my dad may have found a car to replace the 2007 Impala with when I purchase it at the end of the month... http://inventory.gslchevcity.com/english/Used-inventory/listing/Cars/2009/CHEVROLET/IMPALA/4710042.aspx 2009 Impala LS, Slate Metallic, 16000km (10000mi) -Bluetooth -Leather Steering Wheel -XM -OnStar -Folding Seats -Alloys -Spoiler -Tire Pressure Monitor -Block Heater Going to look at it sometime early next week if they still have it.
  3. From what I understood, as nice an engine as it was, the LX5 Shortstar V6 was a bit frail.
  4. BMWs are a pain in the ass, especially if they age. You really have to ask yourself on a car with that little mileage what must be wrong with it. I am concerned that as Cadillac becomes more complicated and "european" that they will become that bad too.
  5. Go out and have a great day, bud!
  6. It's actually a 2000-02 Deville Sedan in black. I've seen it on the news. Chretien and Martin had a 1992 Buick Roadmaster. The Conservative Party website says that his personal vehicle is a 2003 Malibu LS Sedan. The Premier of Alberta has a Chrysler 300C.
  7. If I were you and looking for a daily driver right now I'd be trying to maximize fuel economy. As of now the Crude Oil futures for December 2010 are reaching near 100$/barrel again. That wouldn't stop me from buying a V8 Cadillac as a fun sort of project/weekend car but certainly from purchasing a new car that was that bad on gas. Well I guess they aren't offering two anymore... this was the ad double posted in the paper and on their website.
  8. That was Steve Wozniak the co-founder of Apple.
  9. Presumable but you couldn't tell based even though they had a full page ad in both papers. The picture in the ad was of a Sierra 1500 with a G3 haphazardly chucked in the bed. I've got to find the ad and post it.
  10. Here in Calgary if you buy a Sierra 1500 one dealer is offering two free G3s. I'm serious.
  11. I think I posted a thread about this sometime last year and yeah it freaks me the heck out. I don't fit the MO though because I don't touch alcohol at all. Apparently there was even a killing in Edmonton here in Canada and a couple in Ontario.
  12. It occurred to me today that I never shared any of my pictures from my trip last month, so now I guess would be as good a time as any! Very lucky to visit the Pima Air and Space Museum whose inventory includes a VC-137 like those used by Kennedy as well as Eisenhower's Constellation and Truman's DC-4. Not to mention a Convair B-36 Peacemaker. The Constellation has to be my all-time favorite aircraft so it was nice to finally see one in person. Also paid a visit to the Barry Goldwater memorial park and took in a Suns game.
  13. You know you want that Solstice coupe...
  14. I second what Ocn is saying. Get the Hardtop if you get the soft-top you'll kick yourself until the day you die. The soft-top Targa section would do just fine. Furthermore you can make the G8 as winter ready as possible and spread the mileage out. If not you can also spend that money getting a 2000$ W-Body winter beater...
  15. Truth Stranger than Fiction A friend of mine nearly totaled his older BMW hitting a deer and at the time was contemplating buying a G8 (ended up not buying one because you couldn't get a lower end one with a manual transmission) was going to purchase that very part to mount on it for protection.
  16. I saw a Rover SD1, and the funny thing is that all outward appearances indicated it was working.
  17. I had the same issue with the Malibu when the Bridgestone Insignias wore down. If you'll recall last winter I had two scares in that car and I didn't drive it until she replaced her tires. First time I was coming around a corner in my neighbourhood at about 5mph and all of a sudden all four tires break loose at once and the car does a 360 right there. Then a couple of weeks later I'm once again coming around a corner at a very low rate of speed on top of fresh snow (no ice) and the son of a gun won't turn, no traction. Wouldn't stop either sending me careening into a curb bending one of the rims that I stuck out to absorb the impact.
  18. Well you could always roll the G8 on winters with some extra sandbags and see where that gets you... maybe you just need to deck out the G8 in a way that doesn't welcome death . Then if that works you can buy that Solstice anyways...
  19. You were up there shopping a Solstice Targa weren't you? I would reco the Fusion to anyone. My aunt in Nova Scotia has a 2010 Fusion Sport AWD with the 3.5L. It's a VERY peppy car and I love the manumatic mode where you don't use paddles but the shift knob instead. Sangria Red with the Red/Black leather interior. I'd go with the 3.5L Sport over the 3.0L SEL because they have almost the same Fuel Economy but the 3.5L is much stronger. Handles real well and has better materials than the Malibu. The Leather especially.
  20. My suggestions for a good snow vehicle 2010 Fusion SEL AWD 2010 Mercury Milan AWD 2010 Equinox/Terrain 2.4 AWD Leftover/CPO Saturn VUE Leftover/CPO Saturn Outlook if you don't mind the size Trailblazer or Envoy 4WD CPO Lincoln MKZ
  21. Oh sweet lord.
  22. I've heard that as well.
  23. This.
  24. Shop the dealerships out... they sometimes vary on charges like that. The Chev/Cadillac dealer I deal with charges a flat rate (68.00$ I think) for diagnosis fees and refunds it if you have it fixed with them or if they recognize the problem but cannot get to the bottom of it.
