Retirement age couple in a shiny new silver Datsun NV200, with second row glass. I share their perverse attraction for tiny vans, although I believe the Ford is the best looking. They are certainly useful little burros.

Ferrari News: Electric Ferrari Would Be 'Obscene' According To Marchionne
ocnblu replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
LOL agreed. SILLIEST statement I've read in a while. Haha... I've been wondering if I would ever agree with anything Serge says or does. His past and present statements on electrification are about the only things that make sense.- 27 replies

You need to warsh your mouth out with soap.

True, and I don't understand that at all.

Well I think this Cruze hatch will do well here in the U.S. I am interested in seeing it in other colors, and without the RS kit.

Notice the old-style dropping beltline, where the new Karl-based Spark hatch has a straight beltline. I will hazard to guess the sedan is based on the first-gen car, with a facelift.

You have no say in this. Settle down.

My second big automotive love, after GM, has to be VW. Excellent choice. I offer my baby for dinner in reverence.

You mean this one? With the flatbed it's as wide as a fullsize truck (interior bed width is 2034 mm) and is a 2500 kg GVW rated truck (5500 lb) with a 1 ton capacity. Then there's the true cutaway (you're supposed to keep it less than the standard 1872mm body width, but clearly Fiat exceeded that with the reefer illustrated). Body platform length can be 2115 mm (compared to the 1818 interior length of the factory tray above). Combined axle load is 2570 kg, but the GVW is only up to 2400 kg. Hi griffon, I always enjoy your posts. That Doblo pickup is a very capable machine, seems like. The amazing, borderline comical looks of it seal the deal! With a diesel engine yet, it would be the ultimate non-conformist, awkward superstar pickup truck!

When parked side by side and compared in the glare of day, I prefer the conservative, solid look of the Patriot to the goofy, cutesy, overdecorated Renegade. I sincerely hope the Patriot's replacement does not go the goofy, cutesy route. They've gone outlandish with the (crazy selling) Cherokee... I think a nice, manly Patriot replacement is definitely needed to temper the weirdness just above and below.

Geneva Motor Show: Abarth 124 Spider: Comments
ocnblu replied to William Maley's topic in Geneva International Motor Show
I cannot abide the high, tinny sound of a SkyActiv Mazda product on cold start. It is borderline scary. Try it sometime. I like the 124 better than the Miata. I'm betting the Abarth version will be a typical, romantic sounding Italian. Can a person order an Abarth Spider without the crazy graphics?- 33 replies

Bananas are good for you though. Lots of potassium. And they're fun to peel.

I am with those that want to see a true compact truck back in the U.S. ...But every auto exec that speaks on the subject states it would not be a good idear, for various weak reasons.

If GM expects to really test demand for midsize trucks, they're going to have to build more trucks. The hoary, and horrible looking, old Tacoma continues to clean their clock in sales, and it is getting worse, not better.
