  1. It is a nice Malibu, for sure.
  2. cappy, aww man. Hang in there. I know you believe in her. That will see you through, until she's back home with you.
  3. Yeah, I remembered right after I posted that DeLorean was not a designer. And what a rich design history GM has here in the USA. The richest anywhere.
  4. There's a brand new black 5-speed HHR LS at my local dealer without running boards.
  5. Yes, let us hear from you, mustang.
  6. Shoot, I knew I should have stopped in and browsed on my way through a couple of weeks ago instead of just driving by...
  7. Yikes, guessing on that one, prolly wrong-o: John DeLorean? Larry Shinoda? Wayne Cherry?
  8. Mr. Dart, what if it has the opposite effect though?
  9. OK, you've talked me into it. I'll take it!
  10. Which dealership has the 5-speed HHR? What color is it?
  11. Aww, cappy, I'm sorry man. I hope she's fully recovered quickly, and back home.
  12. divide
  13. AFAIK, running boards are an option on HHRs, not a requirement.
  14. Love that Formula 400. I'll take it!

    A Lesson

  16. The new Forester is a honey, imo, but it's not really an economy car. reg has a good idear in the '09 4cyl Escape, but I am sure it will get only marginally better mileage than the Subie. The Jetta Sportwagen with 2.0t or diesel sounds awesome for you guys. The Saturn Asstra seems a bit dull, imo, even though I was happy with the driving experience.

    A Lesson

So my parts came today and I put the Sierra in the shop, it will be in there for a couple of days. My boss let me drive our parts runner truck home... it's an '03 Ranger, a base model 2.3L 5 speed manual regular cab 2WD in white with gray vinyl split bench seat, a/c, radio... and that's pretty much it. A customer traded it in with very few miles on it, and it's in spotless condition. Driving the little mule made me realize something, once again: driving a slow, basic vehicle can be good therapy. Gone were my need to listen to the exhaust and to look good. It was driving as transportation, in an honest little workhorse. All pretension was stripped away. Do I really need all the little luxuries of my Sierra? I wonder.
  18. Well if there's a Torana, hopefully that means there will be a RWD G6 coupe and sedan next time around. This rumor of a rebadged next-gen Malibu as the next-gen G6 is plain STUPID.
  19. Big-ass taillights, and the headlights appear similar to the current Focus, with a useless "tail" spritzed up into the fender. I want to see the interior, the coupe, and the Pontiac version. To heck with the blobby Opel/Saturn hatches we've seen.
  20. Well it seems as though some more congratulations are in order. To Mr. vonVee, free at last! And to Papa Dave! OMG, cool man. I knew he was on his way, but I hadn't heard for sure. My best to you, your wife and your new son.
  21. Man oh man, how soon we forget. 2009 Aveo5!

    Spotted!

That powertrain is probably a good reason why the car is still around, not enough horsepower to get anyone into trouble. It doesn't look bad from here. I wonder if there are any performance parts available for the old Stovebolt. It's a 230, right? IIRC. It's gotta be bog slow. Something like that would be cool with maybe a 4.3L V6/700R4 (or yes, a 5 speed manual, I'm just saying 700 because it's already a PG car)... a nod to today's harsh fuel realities, while retaining a factor of fun. Oh, and those Cragar S/S rims would be off like a prom dress immediately, replaced with an "early" set of Rally wheels painted bodycolor with trim rings and decent, blackwall rubber. Just my idears for such a sweet little Mali.
  23. The Pontiac is just a better looking wagon than the other B-bodies of this era. She's a beauty, I'd snatch her up if I could.
