  1. Hold up Uncle Dave! This trailer begs to differ! Pretty car! Why is my perception of Kia so much more positive than Hyundai? They're like the Korean Chevy and Pontiac of yore, but I would own a Kia and feel good about it much sooner than I would its sister brand.
  2. No sh*t it's real. It's been happening since Mother Earth was born. Why the sudden, arrogant assumption that humans can do diddly squat about it? Go away, Greta!
  3. The vehicle was shown as a digital rendering at this year’s 2019 North American International Auto Show Tell me again how you think this concept vehicle hasn't already been mocked up in GM's design courtyard? We saw the rendering during the 2019 Detroit show. That was a long time ago.
  4. Motor Trend "believes" the CES 2020 plans "may have been" centred around the unnamed new Cadillac electric crossover. Please pay close attention to the quotation marks I inserted into the above sentence quoted directly from the article.
  5. You just chose EV over your wife and children. Interesting insight. Stunned.
  6. ? The C8 is a production vehicle.
  7. I have a bridge to sell you if you believe for one second that this prototype was not finished long before any strike by the UAW.
  8. First Mercedes, now GM. Second thoughts on an EV onslaught? You betcha!
  9. Mom's BF complains to her about getting in and out of the Forte (they are 75 years old now) after the Versa Note she had before (Kia Soul before that... Nissan Cube before that) so I can understand why she wants to get back into something with a higher hip point, she has remarked about it too.
  10. *squints hard* Is that a VW Touareg with a fake convertible top and woodgrain decals?
  11. I thought that too, at first.
  12. Was it brown
  13. The run from zero to 60 mph in our all-wheel-drive SE test car takes 7.7 seconds, and the quarter-mile is dispatched in 15.9 seconds at 87 mph - Car & Driver tests the 2020 Ford Escape SE AWD with 1.5L turbo 3 cylinder engine. They also remark on its enjoyable, distinctive growl.
  14. Good looking CUV inside and out. 20 MPG is worse than my 308-hp V6 Colorado.
  15. 1958 Mercury Commuter?
  16. Been reading up on the new Ford Escape. Like the Ranger, general consensus among reviewers is that the lower trim is the one to get. It also sprung up that the 1.5EB in the 2020 Escape is a three cylinder. And it sounds good, and is somewhat fun to drive. It has a conventional 8 speed automatic, a precious feature with the rise of CVTs (although with a dial shifter, bleh). I like the interior on the SE model, comes with heated seats and mirrors, and I like the look of the dash and door trims. 33+ cu ft of space with rear seats up is also pretty good. Plus, Ford dealers are knocking the price down on the brand new 2020 Escape already. A $29k Escape SE 4WD is going for $26k locally.
  17. But I'm hungry NOW dammit. Don't tease me, bro!
  18. Nah I'm saying Tesla fanbois are a weird lot. I am sure they use harder drugs than their messiah.
  19. Mom went gaga today over a 2020 Versa SR in Monarch Orange, seen at the local Nissan dealership. She also likes the Hyundai Venue SEL in Green Apple. And the Toyota Yaris LE hatch. And the Kia Soul. I think the new Versa looks really good for an entry-level car. Shame they stopped with the hatchback and steered customers to the Kicks. The Kicks is also decent, but, with alloys, it has an MSRP of around $22k. The Versa SV is around $18.9k. When a Venue SEL with Convenience Package is $21.7k, and a Kia Soul S is $21.5k, I'd much rather she have the Kia, as it is a substantially larger, nicer vehicle than the Venue, imo. She has a year to decide, and even then, I am afraid it is going to come down to who has the best lease deal at the time.
  20. Please post a menu. You can block the name if you feel uncomfortable.
  21. Tesla fanbois are a cult. Some of them have even defended that... thing they call a pickup truck. So no, it IS the EV part... lack of comparable range... lack of comparable price... lack of comparable infrastructure... lack of emotion... lack of EVERYTHING that makes a vehicle desirable.
  22. I'm sure it stays on message. It's kind of unflappable that way. Expensive though.
