Seems to me that I told you all that the Escalade's days were numbered back at the beginning of the year. I also suggested that a replacement on zeta would be a natural. I got shouted down back then, but someone at GM must have been thinking along the same lines. A Caddy version of the GMC Denali showtruck would make a perfect replacement for the current EXT. As for the Lambda, I'm lukewarm on that idea.

Of course it was, but GM needs to learn to say no when the dealers request something so wrong for the brand. Now an E-Flex coupe with aggressive styling might be a nice fit...

I disagree. And I point to your own post. The "(or will...or is trying...)" part especially. Don't get me wrong, Caddy has its place. But, it gets in the way of way too many other things way too often. It is a sacred cow.

I like my phone to be basic and do just one thing well, unfortunately that's doesn't seem possible anymore on either count. I have Nextel/Sprint and the service is pretty bad. I pay about $50/month. I'd switch if I could find a better service provider and had the time to deal with it.

I get the feeling that this financial mess is going to be much worse and last much longer than expected. I can operate in that sort of reality, but I need to unload all of my obligations if I'm going to make it through. I have a tough slog ahead of me, I think. ...and Wachovia is my bank.

GM just needs to actually focus Pontiac rather than talking about focusing like they've been doing for decades now. Talk about indecision!

Follow that logic and this is the message GM will be sending to me: " Despite the fact that you are a loyal repeat customer, we don't want to sell any more cars to you". Besides, how many FWD Epsilons do they need? Two is enough AFAIC. One need not be a Pontiac, especially with Buick in the same showroom.

Beautiful tribute, Balthazar. My grandparents are all gone now, but I treasure the things they gave me which, as you said. make me... me. More often now, I find myself quoting my father - he was also fond of the phrase " $h!, or get off the pot". My best to you and yours.

I really like the idea of Pontiac as the "F-you" brand, the bad boy, in-your-face, politically incorrect, traditional American style brand. We desperately need that somewhere, what better place than Pontiac?
