  1. I kind of like them because they are so unique and that they take away the practical use of crossovers. It would be even cooler if they did a folding hard roof version---that could work as a 2dr hardtop crossover. I'd love to see a full size luxury SUV in such a bodystyle--a Lincoln Navigator or Escalade 2dr hardtop/cabriolet, for example... something different from the usual predictable 5dr CUV or SUV...
  2. Yeah, my Dad pretty much only bought Ford-Lincoln-Mercury products for nearly 50 years. Exceptions included a Hino Contessa when they lived in Saipan in the 60s, a '79 Dodge Power Wagon pickup, and an '81 Chevette as a dinghy for the RV. Problem is leather is about all that is available anymore in anything remotely 'premium'. I used sheepskin seat covers in Arizona.
  3. Another Big 80s GM biggie I've always liked since seeing them back in the day was the Electra Park Avenue...love the crisp lines of the C- bodies of that era. An Aunt had a blue one, tried to talk my Dad into test driving Buicks or Cadillacs, but he was a Lincoln Town Car man...
  4. It is funny, but usually I don't like white cars, but love white Cadillacs w/ red interiors...as an impressionable teenager i loved the '86 Fleetwood Brougham in 'Color of Money'... I love this burgundy cloth interior...
  5. Robots still take a lot of space, though less than human resource units.
  6. Seems like they are targeting BMW and M-B specifically....Genesis sedans are RWD/AWD also. Lexus' RX may be higher volume, but I wouldn't seriously compare it to the GLE or X5/X6...
  7. A version w/ woodgrain side trim and white walls would be a nice 'Town & Country' wagon...
  8. Yeah, I didn't look up the specifics, going off memory.. too bad about the the Golf, but I haven't seen a non-GTI Golf in ages.
  9. Perhaps...fewer parts to assemble on the line? Electric motors and battery packs instead of an ICE powertrain?
  10. Some randomness on a cold evening...some vintage big Chevys I like...
  11. It's definitely a smaller niche that it used to be..but still quite a few in the US.. Without looking it up, there is the Corolla hatch, Yaris (is it still around?), Mazda 3, Golf, Spark, Sonic, Fit, Versa Note, Mitsubishi Mirage, Veloster, Elantra GT, Rio.. Though I do prefer larger vehicles, there are couple of 'hot hatches' I'd probably enjoy hooning around in, such as the Golf GTI and Veloster N...
  12. I don't know how the TB and Enky GX compare to the Trax on front seat space, and I haven't ridden in the back of the Trax, but I have plenty of room up front even at 6' 0" and with a sunroof the times I've driven and ridden in it...
  13. Well, in the subcompact class, they aren't exactly for hauling around 4 adults..
  14. Well, think of the Chevy as the practical CUV and the Buick as the personal luxury CUV, less practical.. and it should be more expensive, since Buick is the middle brand..
  15. Big grille....narrow lights...kind of like the lighting. Clean and minimal inside, looks like. Interesting to hear it will be based on the RWD car platform, I had assumed they would have made a upmarket version of Palisade/Telluride.
  16. With 1.3 twin turbo!
  17. I wonder how much torque the stock transmission/transaxle could handle...
  18. Always liked the styling of the E-bodies of that era, particularly the sharp-edged Eldos. I wouldn't mind having an Eldo Biarritz convertible in S. Florida as a winter cruiser.
  19. 'performance package' and 1.3L seems like an oxymoron...
  20. Sad to see the demise of a long running brand name....so Buick is going to be the rounded generic CUVs and GMC the squared generic CUVs at the same dealer....yawn. Nothing remotely interesting left of the Buick brand in NA.
  21. I do kind of miss Dec through maybe Feb. I loathe May through Sept there though...
  22. Dreary gray morning here in the Cleveland burbs...rain, freezing rain and flurries..glad I don't have to commute.
  23. Odd. Thought ABS was standard on everything 20 years ago.
  24. I don't mind the electronic safety gadgets.. had them in a couple rental cars..was neat the way the seat vibrated in a Tahoe when I went over the center line on a winding AZ road a few years ago. My current Jeep doesn't have them, but my next undoubtably will...progress.
