  1. Well, a 2dr with a fixed b-pillar and fixed window frames on the doors technically is a 2dr sedan. Like the Fox Mustang 2dr notchback, it could have been described as a sedan...and in olden days, 2dr sedans were everywhere...
  2. It wouldn't surprise me if the 2 Gran Coupe has more rear seat room than the 3 series, though since it's a FWD/transverse platform. Generic layouts usually have more cabin space than RWD.
  3. I don't mind the cladding, would look better without it, IMO. The odd thing about the Buick cladding is the pointless tab at the top center (some other makers do that also). It's very color dependent also...on a dark colored vehicle it's not so noticeable. (My black Jeep GC has black cladding around the arches and on the sills and is unnoticeable...black cladding on a light colored vehicle would stand out more).
  4. Yeah, it looks better w/o the obligatory crossover cladding..
  5. I like the Tour X in this dark red.
  6. I've driven past the For Sale '84/85 Olds 98 diesel 4dr 4 times this week, really sharp car that will probably be a tough sell. Dark gray w/ dark gray top.
  7. I wonder if it's related to this story on a law firm website..2016-17 Cruze and Malibu w/ the 1.5 https://www.valerolaw.com/news/2018/10/18/2017-chevrolet-cruze-piston-problems
  8. That’s an odd recall.
  9. I used to go to mineral hot springs in Colorado. They were fun. I spent my weekend in Ann Arbor, Mi. Hadn’t been back to my old grad school campus and town in 20 years. Lots of new buildings around the U of M campus...beautiful place. Had a lot of fun. I did see some 6th gen Camaros in SE Michigan, but they were outnumbered by Mustangs and Challengers.
  10. I like it. Sleeker than the regular Atlas, and no third row.
  11. Well, Renault did do a 2dr coupe hardtop minivan years ago with the uber-cool Avantime. The minivan coupe is a niche that definitely needs explored.
  12. I love the profile for the first gen CLS, but prefer the front end of the 2nd gen. I like the interiors of both generations also. Another dimension to 'coupes' is coupe CUVs/SUVs... With the rise of coupe CUVs and SUVs (VW is sort-of getting in that game now w/ an Atlas variant), I'm hoping Jeep does one....maybe the next gen GC will be offered in a coupe version with a sleek roofline ala the GLE. I'd buy that.
  13. Saw a new Supra in red this weekend....had a long weekend getaway to Ann Arbor, Mi and spent time wandering the U of Michigan campus, the town and the area...seeing what has changed in the 20+ years since I lived there. Lots of nostalgia..and sunny but cool fall weather. Saw an eclectic mix of vehicles on Hwy 23 in Michigan south of Ann Arbor--going northbound in about 5 min I saw a white Lexus LF-A, a yellow Lexus LC, and a new Supra in bright red. On the Ohio Turnpike saw a car hauler with 4 new green Buillitt Mustangs and other new Mustang GTs incl. a red convertible. Saw a dark green w/ white bumpers and grille '57 Ford F100 style side in good shape on another car hauler. Closer to home, I saw a clean dark gray '85-86 Olds 98 4dr parked w/ 'FOR SALE' and 'DIESEL' signs..
  14. I was disappointed. As I was leaving, they uncovered them—3 Wranglers with Michigan Mfgr plates. But the cowl area was covered over. And lots of cables inside. Maybe the diesel or PHEV out being tested? Or the rumored future straight six?
  15. Saw these at a service plaza on the Ohio Turnpike. Broncos I suspect going by the shape and size, rear mounted spare.
  16. Saw a clean dark blue 90s Buick Roadmaster hearse, padded top w/ a huge light on top, like a Michigan State Police light but yellow.
  17. Reminds me of my college car, an '86 LX..though mine was gray and didn't have a luggage rack. Here's a pic of mine along w/ my '87 GT, taken about 30 years ago...
  18. Those are weird edge cases, though...most drivers didn't rack up those kind of miles on cars of that era...
  19. But the consumer E-class likely has far more cabin electronics that will likely fail over time. But consumers generally don't drive 300k miles; maybe 35k on a 3 year lease? And then the 2nd owner is on their own with the horror as the miles accumulate and it goes out of warranty...
  20. Those are stripped-down diesels, though. Normal consumers in the US don't buy those.
  21. Ick...always watching out for deer in my neighborhood... lots of woods and lots of deer going through the yards and families of them crossing the street.. Here's a video of some deer wandering in my driveway yesterday afternoon... RingVideo-6745529747971080793.MP4
  22. Saw this Transit at a light...license plate 'UGHAVAN'... heh-heh. Also saw a solid yellow w/ white top '74-ish 2dr AMC Hornet w/ vintage red Arizona license plates.
  23. So no bumper across the front...that grille seems vulnerable..I wonder if there is a horizontal crash bar behind the grille. Not sure about the styling...too much Magneto's Helmet/ Camaro SS with a touch of Silverado HD.
  24. Had some fun w/ the configurator for the C8. Here is how I'd spec one. Corvette 3LT w/ Z51 package 19" front/20" rear 5-trident-spoke machined-face Spectra Gray-painted aluminum wheels. Color: Either Elkhart Lake Blue Metallic, Zeus Bronze Metallic, or Long Beach red Metallic tintcoat (+$995). Interior: natural dipped w/ Napa leather seats (tan) (looks like a nice peanut butter/caramel tan) $78440
