I'm wondering if this is an all new EV-specific platform or a variant of the Explorer platform---unibody RWD/AWD, similar wheelbase, and it's been said the next Mustang would likely be based on the Explorer platform...

Yeah, I remember back in the mid-oughts the bloviating defecators online were whining about the 4dr Charger when it came out...same kind of thing. F' em...

I do use sarcasm IRL with care. I've had people say they don't get when I'm being sarcasm or facetious because I never change my tone of voice. In writing I do use <sarcasm> </sarcasm> html tags sometimes, if I know my audience well.

It's definitely a marketing move. Gets more attention with the Mustang name than it would otherwise. But will it be a successful gamble? Only time will tell. Yes, you do tend toward the loquacious. I strive for short and pithy, sometimes veering into sarcasm and absurdity.

As with anything, the loudest complainers get the most attention. Reality will show in a couple years with sales results as to whether Ford made a good or a bad decision....

'Trolls on teh internets' have been a truism since olden days..they were there on CompuServe and Usenet newsgroups 30 years ago when I was but a skinny teenager with a Mustang (2 actually) and learning the computing game on computers that seem primitive compared to my phone today..

Sunday evening I was out and about and saw an Amish buggy with a light bar on the front roof, like something off those brodozer trucks. Green and white lights.

Products evolve over time...at least they aren't making a 4cyl FWD Mustang...imagine the uproar that would have caused. Since there have been rumors the next Mustang will be on an Explorer-based platform, that opens up lots of possibilities incl. AWD... I like the idea of a future Mustang GT coupe or convertible w/ a 5.0 V8, manual, AWD and 4500lbs. That would be tight. Or a Mustang 4dr coupe w/ V8...

@Drew Dowdell Good luck. I'm sure you'll find something good.

Though this might be a good addition to the US Chevy line, it looks more appealing than the Bolt.

Going to try for next weekend. Was too busy this past weekend.

I'll admit to being a Mustang fan since childhood, and have owned multiple Mustangs. I'm also 'EV-curious'...not likely to buy one any time soon, but I'm not rabidly anti-EV like some. Looking forward to seeing this one in person. The performance and range sound great at first read.

Yes, it's definitely a marketing move. It will be interesting to see if it works or not. This has flashy styling, kind of Tesla-esque, some hints of Mustang.

Ahh...not familiar with the STX...I'm used to seeing F150s with that thick bar across the front. Those look like stock headlights; I've seen the glowy tube lights at night.. and it's pretty unusual to see a regular cab short bed 2wd...an almost extinct configuration.

Watched a couple good auto racing documentaries Friday night, both streaming on Amazon Prime. 'The 24 Hour War' about Ford and Ferrari, the GT-40 development, Le Mans 64-67, and 'Ferrari: Road to Immortality' about F1 and sports cars and the Ferrari team drivers in the late 50s, many who died in racing.

Yeah, back in the summer I happened to be driving past a city parking lot and saw them...a dark red last gen Bonneville and a white one. A couple mid-oughts Impalas also.

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
I do wonder if that was an intentional leak or an accident. Depends on how they have their CDN/WCM set up, I could see the content being 'accidentally' syndicated from a UAT environment to a PROD environment, or maybe they have 'hot' and 'cold' PROD environments with a future PROD already staged and ready to be activated via the load balancer, etc. Been there, done that... -
City of Parma (suburb next to my suburb) has at least two Bonnevilles for some city department, saw them in a city parking lot w city decals on the doors a few months ago.

Toyota News: Toyota Introduces Camry and Avalon with All-Wheel Drive

For the 4dr Grands Prix, I liked the looks of the '97-03 generation...great roofline w/ slim pillars, none of the cheesy cladding. -
I generally don't like Ford truck styling since 1997, but this DDR Concepts Lightning is sweet...I like the cleaned up front end.

There is a weirdly modified Custom Cruiser of that era around here I see occasionally...black, with a padded top covering the back side windows, dark window tint, blue headlights, custom wheels and big tires, very loud exhaust, big hood scoop...
