It's too bad Cadillac painted them self into a corner w/ their naming..they could have used XT-odd number for regular CUVs, and XT-even number for coupe CUVs. An XT5 based CCUV w/ a sleek fastback roofline like the CTS coupe would be cool..

Going out for taco Tuesday dinner earlier, saw out of the corner of my eye a black w/ white top '56 Thunderbird down the next street over as I drove past...alas, it was gone when I came home later. I did stop and photograph this shoebox Ford 2 streets over....same house where I photographed a rusty one a few months ago...wonder if that chassis and debris are what's left of the rusty one.

I've tried it, but I usually always use 'Unread Content'. Old habits are hard to change.

Sales growth is about percentage increases, not numbers. I don't know if they are the fastest growing or not without looking att the year over year numbers...

The Atlass Cross Sport is sharp...gets rid of the 3rd row also. I prefer 2 row SUVs, and a sleek 2 row is a neat variation.
-
I kind of like them...they are distinctive, and they are usually 2 row (I don't need a 3rd row). I like fastback hatchback rooflines..

That engine is long gone....

Going through Dunkin Donuts this morning I had a yellow Challenger Hellcat Redeye behind me..nice rumble. Guy w/ white hair and beard, was blasting ZZTop..

I rarely ever go in the store when I get gas... pay at the pump, usually less than 5 minutes. A quick task. Recharging an EV at a charging station would be far less convenient. Now a home charger, I could see that being advantageous. And location, location, location...the nearest gas station is maybe 1/2 mile, and I probably have 1/2 dozen more within a mile or two. The nearest ChargePoint charging station (J1772) is 7 miles, the nearest CHAdeMO station is over 6 miles. The nearest Telsa Supercharger station is 10 miles. Not practical in my reality context.

Beautiful fall day here in Cleveland...saw a sharp gold '72 Cutlass convertible rolling w/ the top down. Went out this evening to see Bruce Springsteen's concert film 'Western Stars' (beautiful film, beautiful music) and parked next to a Gladiator Rubicon at the theatre...first I'd seen in the wild. There was a great Jeep Wrangler ad before the film..

I see the same thing...

Well, a 2dr with a fixed b-pillar and fixed window frames on the doors technically is a 2dr sedan. Like the Fox Mustang 2dr notchback, it could have been described as a sedan...and in olden days, 2dr sedans were everywhere...

It wouldn't surprise me if the 2 Gran Coupe has more rear seat room than the 3 series, though since it's a FWD/transverse platform. Generic layouts usually have more cabin space than RWD.

On Tour - 2019 Buick Regal TourX
Robert Hall replied to regfootball's topic in Member's Rides Showcase
I don't mind the cladding, would look better without it, IMO. The odd thing about the Buick cladding is the pointless tab at the top center (some other makers do that also). It's very color dependent also...on a dark colored vehicle it's not so noticeable. (My black Jeep GC has black cladding around the arches and on the sills and is unnoticeable...black cladding on a light colored vehicle would stand out more). -

I've driven past the For Sale '84/85 Olds 98 diesel 4dr 4 times this week, really sharp car that will probably be a tough sell. Dark gray w/ dark gray top.

I wonder if it's related to this story on a law firm website..2016-17 Cruze and Malibu w/ the 1.5 https://www.valerolaw.com/news/2018/10/18/2017-chevrolet-cruze-piston-problems

That’s an odd recall.

Chevrolet News:Chevy Throws $3k On Camaro's Hood for Mustang Drivers
Robert Hall replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chevrolet
I used to go to mineral hot springs in Colorado. They were fun. I spent my weekend in Ann Arbor, Mi. Hadn’t been back to my old grad school campus and town in 20 years. Lots of new buildings around the U of M campus...beautiful place. Had a lot of fun. I did see some 6th gen Camaros in SE Michigan, but they were outnumbered by Mustangs and Challengers. -

I like it. Sleeker than the regular Atlas, and no third row.- 9 replies

Well, Renault did do a 2dr coupe hardtop minivan years ago with the uber-cool Avantime. The minivan coupe is a niche that definitely needs explored.

I love the profile for the first gen CLS, but prefer the front end of the 2nd gen. I like the interiors of both generations also. Another dimension to 'coupes' is coupe CUVs/SUVs... With the rise of coupe CUVs and SUVs (VW is sort-of getting in that game now w/ an Atlas variant), I'm hoping Jeep does one....maybe the next gen GC will be offered in a coupe version with a sleek roofline ala the GLE. I'd buy that.

Saw a new Supra in red this weekend....had a long weekend getaway to Ann Arbor, Mi and spent time wandering the U of Michigan campus, the town and the area...seeing what has changed in the 20+ years since I lived there. Lots of nostalgia..and sunny but cool fall weather. Saw an eclectic mix of vehicles on Hwy 23 in Michigan south of Ann Arbor--going northbound in about 5 min I saw a white Lexus LF-A, a yellow Lexus LC, and a new Supra in bright red. On the Ohio Turnpike saw a car hauler with 4 new green Buillitt Mustangs and other new Mustang GTs incl. a red convertible. Saw a dark green w/ white bumpers and grille '57 Ford F100 style side in good shape on another car hauler. Closer to home, I saw a clean dark gray '85-86 Olds 98 4dr parked w/ 'FOR SALE' and 'DIESEL' signs..

I was disappointed. As I was leaving, they uncovered them—3 Wranglers with Michigan Mfgr plates. But the cowl area was covered over. And lots of cables inside. Maybe the diesel or PHEV out being tested? Or the rumored future straight six?
