  1. Recent streaming 'binge' shows-- Modus--decent Swedish crime drama, though the lead actress is rather annoying 2 seasons The Truth Will Out--solid Swedish crime drama, one season. Jack Irish--season 2, offbeat Australian crime drama w/ Guy Pearce
  2. Speaking of 60s pop/rock, going to see Robin Trower in concert tonight. He was the guitarist/vocalist of Procol Harum. Should be fun.
  3. Looks like Uncle Buck's ride, but in better shape.
  4. Interesting that it's badged 100, IIRC the mid 80s ones like that were still badged as 5000 in the US. Haven't seen an Avant in decades probably.. Edit--looks like they switched to 100 badging in the US in 1989.
  5. Promaster Hellcat would help Amazon deliver faster..
  6. Which is also strange and fake, IMO. Credits are just artificial nonsense in lieu of building cleaner products.
  7. I like the J6 and Scrambler concepts..
  8. Jeeps are mostly diesels in Europe also...that is probably the big issue. Anyway, this seems like a very strange approach to meeting emissions standards.
  9. Hmm...gas tank in the cab, '72 I think. '72 was the first year for that generation, and in '73 (or '74) I think they moved the gas tank to under the bed. Not sure if the Power Wagon trim was available then, the decals may have been added later.
  10. Saw a few interesting cars when out and about yesterday...a clean dark blue w dark blue top '84-85ish Olds 88 Royale 4dr w/ a for sale sign, a bright red '04-06 GTO with random primer gray panels, a shiny '11-14 Dodge Charger in black w/ white roof, white doors and black wheels...must be a retired police car..had a temporary plate and a great rumbly exhaust note. Saw bright red w/ white stripes '13-14 Shelby GT500 convertible rolling top down on I-90 heading back towards the Cleveland area yesterday evening..Spring has sprung.
  11. This rendering seems to match up pretty well to the disguised spy photo. I wonder if the Venue will be related to the existing ix25/Creta which is related to the Kia Soul.
  12. IIRC, the west coast of Michigan on Lake Michigan has some nice sandy beaches and dunes...but I haven't been over there in 20+ years. I've been to beaches on Lake Michigan, Lake Huron and Lake Erie, never been to Lake Superior or Lake Ontario.
  13. Beach time this sunny afternoon
  14. This reminds me of something I saw a while back..trying to apply the 3 window coupe styling to a more modern product...a PT Cruiser 3 window coupe. It's not completely successful, IMO..the roof is too high and they used stock door window frames that don't flow w/ the shape, but it is an interesting effort. https://www.hotrodplans.com/product/21st-century-hot-rod-build-3-window-coupe/
  15. Saw a clean red 67 Impala 2dr at a gas station today. Had goofy fender skirts but otherwise looked stock.
  16. I've had emails from FCA about updating the maps for $150, but didn't see much point...my phone maps are up to date, I do use phone nav sometimes instead.
  17. Speaking of GPS and nav systems, I had a wierd thing happen last Saturday w/ my Jeep nav. I was using because I'd never been to Athens, Ohio (small college town, but several streets and turns were needed to get to where I was going from the freeway). On the way there, I was on a stretch of Ohio-33 (divided highway) that appeared relatively new and got this message on the nav screen ('area with inadequate map information. proceed w/ caution')...then the car icon on the screen jumped off the freeway and wandered around over rivers, forests, hills, backroads a mile or two off the freeway (I ignored and stayed on the freeway). After about 5 miles it synched back up and was navigating correctly. Odd. According to the Wikipedia, that section of freeway was built in 2013. I guess my 2014 maps were out of date...
  18. How about this for an analogy--a V12 is a porterhouse steak, while an electric drivetrain is a vegan meal. Both might produce similar protein or calories, one is more satisfying..
  19. In something like a Bentley or Roller, though, part of that luxury is excess...a V12 fits that perfectly...an electric motor is low and common by comparison.
  20. Conversions are just aftermarket novelties, though... the subject here are production luxury cars. The Taycan seems interesting, but I wouldn't take one over a Panamera. Likewise, I wouldn't choose an electric BMW 7 series over a V12. Likewise I wouldn't pick a shoddily built Tesla over a well built V8 or V12 luxury car at the various price points Tesla sells at. I just don't see anything premium or luxury about an electric propulsion system..there is a lot of hype currently, and I think they are going to be a growing market segment for a long time, but to me it's nothing special compared to a V8 or V12.
  21. Electric is boring, though compared to 12 cylinders.
  22. 'Gone' was my understanding. That's how I've heard it pronounced by podcasters.
  23. They should offer it in their top SUV model...maybe an X8 above the new X7?
  24. That 508 SW looks pretty tasty...
  25. I'm sure there is a business reason not to..
