  1. Congrats. Love those cars.
  2. Going slower than planned, had some delays and changes in plans. Second Pod is leaving Phoenix this week, going back to Ohio for a week in early May to unpack it, then back to Phoenix to finish up. Should be driving to Ohio w the dogs in the new Jeep before Memorial Day.
  3. I found this list on Wikipedia, not sure how accurate or up to date it is, worldwide plants. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_General_Motors_factories
  4. So back on topic, what other manufacturing assets does GM still have in South America? Brazil I know, but not sure of other countries.
  5. A few pics I've taken over the last 3 weeks. Enjoying it quite a bit so far.
  6. Pizza is such a configurable product. So many topping options, some grouped in common option packages, some custom. Lots of choices...glad it's not a simple right/wrong binary choice but one of infinite configurability.
  7. I remember long ago kids would take old muscle cars and add big rear tires and air shocks so they would sit that way....I remember seeing examples of the genre when in high school 30 years ago...my older brother did it to various cars he had in the 70s.
  8. I assume the Expedition and Navigator will still have a rear legroom and cargo space advantage from a lower floor because of the IRS when compared to the GM full sizers...
  9. I'd love to try those Japanese pizzas. I love pizza, I love seafood, and enjoy Japanese and Asian cuisine in general (sushi, sashimi, tempura, teppanyaki, etc).
  10. Different brands, different grille styling cues...
  11. Driver's seat is positioned for someone 5' tall and thin, looks like...
  12. Some cool concepts..the Trailpass looks close to a production model...I see from the Jeep site there is a Trailhawk version of the new Compass.
  13. I like the look of the old ones, and esp. the interior....the dash on the current generation is so generic...bulgy vents, very little wood...the older plank of wood dashes looked better, IMO..
  14. I like the front and side profile, but the rear is so odd looking..something about the bumper and taillights just turns me off...
  15. Stock old musclecars aren't exactly pleasant to drive...horrific ergonomics (fixed steering wheels, seats that only go fore/aft, random control placement, etc), single outside mirrors, primitive brakes, AM radios, etc... I've had experience driving cars such as my brother's '68 Camaro SS 396 and my own '69 Mustang 351 I inherited; they are fun for the occasional spin, but far too crude and unrefined for frequent use...modern muscle cars are refined enough to use as a daily driver...
  16. Of course, the Shaker Challenger was parked next to a delicious brown w/ brown interior GC Summit, but that was $20k more than I wanted to spend for a daily driver...
  17. As far as Challengers go, the one I'd buy is a Challenger R/T w/ the Shaker package....the dealer had one in the showroom when I bought my GC a couple weeks ago, white w/ black scoop, red and black interior, manual. Perfect...maybe I'll get one for my midlife crisis in 3 years when I hit an age milestone...
  18. I like the Demon's looks. Over the top muscle car. The fender flares look great, a neat retro touch ala the Aspen/Volare Super Coupe package. Comparisons to the Tesla Model S are pointless; different types of cars for different buyers and different use cases.
  19. For wheels, I usually like an aluminum or titanium finish. One place I do like black wheels are on some performance cars like Challengers, Mustangs, some Porsches. But that's a performance look, not a luxury look.
  20. I have a coworker w an 07 Navigator w a cream interior and 3 kids under 10..it is trashed inside--cracked and ripped leather, mystery stains on the carpet and headliner, weird odors, etc. We try and avoid letting him drive when we go out to lunch.
  21. I like chrome trim, esp in restrained usage. Not a fan of body color/monochrome trim---that was an 80s-90s thing--looks very dated today, IMO. Blackout trim looks cheap to me, but the worst is the matte finish all over look, IMO. The Buick looks great as it is w some chrome--tasteful and elegant.
  22. That's similar to my Grand Cherokee interior. I have dogs, plan to get seat covers and Weathertech mats. I specifically sought out the light two tone interior as I was tired of the dark gray or black despair cave interiors.
  23. I like the interior. Though it seems more appropriate for a luxury marque than utilitarian Subaru. I don't see white leather in production; wouldn't be practical for a Subaru family trawler use case where the seats will be covered in food, diaper content, dog poo, etc.
  24. Commutes can suck. Here in Az most of my jobs have had commutes in the 6-20 miles each way range, worst was 27 miles each way for 2 years, mostly freeway. Worst commute I ever had was 68 miles each way back in '02 in Colorado, did that for 3 months until I moved a couple miles from the office then a month later changed jobs. Looking forward to when my Ohio move is done in a few weeks, then I will be working from home most of the time.
