Like George Clooney's character in Up in the Air... Years ago I had a coworker tell me I scared them...because when I'm being facetious or sarcastic I never change my tone of voice..

Dodge News: Dodge Makes the Challenger Hellcat Even Wider
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Dodge
True, would likely have to beef up various parts, etc....I've never looked at the AWD setup on an LX..not sure what the transfer case, etc looks like compared to GCs which I'm familiar with.. I would assume on a car the components are smaller/lighter duty, don't have the space or ground clearance you have with an SUV or truck..- 41 replies

IIRC, they did offer AWD with a V8 in the Charger and 300C, so the engineering work should be long ago done...- 41 replies

My brother was looking a clean '69 Firebird 400 recently...bright blue, 4spd. He has owned a couple Pontiacs back in the late 70s-early 80s--a '74 Firebird 400 in dark blue and a '65 GTO in gold. But he has 10 cars and 7 motorcycles now, said he doesn't need any more vehicles.

No, like '95-ish...there were a number of them built by an aftermarket company, used to see a couple around Scottsdale. I remember there was a black one in the 'Get Shorty' movie driven by Dennis Farina. I also did see a clean '80s one a few days ago--white w/ a white top sitting in a driveway.

Saw a clean white w/ tan interior mid '90s Eldorado convertible tonight, top down..great convertible weather lately.

I've found the site very slow to navigate today, with timeouts when clicking on topic links, on the 'Unread Content' link, etc. Some pages load quickly, some very slowly or are timing out.

Dodge News: Dodge Makes the Challenger Hellcat Even Wider

I like the look of the wide body..I figured they wouldn't leave that only with the Demon. Reminds me of JDM bosozoku style. The Camaro ZL-1 and 1LE are great performers on a track, no doubt...but the styling and cramped interior with tiny windows leaves me cold...love the Challenger styling, liked it since it first came out...- 41 replies

Neat..haven't seen one of those in forever..appears to be a '77-78 (stacked rectangular lights). Fun trivia--the Plymouth version was called Fury from '76-78 (previously Satellite), the Dodge version (identical except for the grille, taillights, and badging) was called Coronet in '75, Charger Sport in '76 (2dr only, the 4dr was still Coronet), and Monaco for '77-78.

Not sure if you can undo the trade imbalance and globalization...companies are too entrenched...most all consumer electronics are assembled in China or elsewhere in Asia, some using chips manufactured in the US. Parts are sourced from all over. I do wonder if we have gone so far as a country in outsourcing various parts of the supply chain that we can't go back to building a lot of things here, at least not easily..

Pacifica doesn't have the 3 pointed star, though.. that alone is worth an extra 10 grand, probably? (j/k)

Metris seems pretty reasonable...get the cargo van version for under 30k, add shag carpeting and a sofa bed, custom paint....

Loving the 52 degree weather this morning when I got up...furnace on. In June...temps probably 50% of what they are in Phoenix now..

My car insurance dropped ~50% moving from Phoenix to Cleveland suburbs. My AZ insurance had gone up 40% or so when I went from the '00 Jeep to the '14, and it's now lower than it was on the old Jeep.

I haven't warmed up to the new Charger front..just a bit anonymous to me..I like the bigger grille and headlights of the 11-14. The 300 headlights since '11 remind me a lot of the '14-16 GC HIDs, and all the '17 GC headlight clusters, albeit larger. At first, I preferred the '11-13 GC front as it was closer to my '00 in design--largish chrome grille and round headlights, but I've come to like the '14 MCE front ends and the '17 MCE 2. If garage space and money were not an issue, i'd get a 300C and a Challenger SRT 392 to go with my GC..

Sounds like Rhino is kind of a sporty color for the sporty on/off road trims, while the browns are for the luxury trims. The GC has like 8 or 9 trim levels now, plus the Trackhawk is coming.. -

I think it may be just certain trim levels..he got an Altitude, right? I checked Limited, Overland and Summit and didn't see it..the browns I like are only with the Overland and Summit, I think.. -
VW News: Volkswagen Isn't Planning to Send the Polo to the U.S.
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Volkswagen
Yeah, five years ago or so when the Fiesta, Sonic, Versa, Fit etc seemed to be The Next Big Thing, maybe. Now, not so much..what they need for the US now is a small CUV, maybe Polo based..something below the Tiguan. (from the article it said 2 more are coming--the new Touareg and something below the Tiguan, perhaps? )
