  1. Bull$h!. Maybe that logic flies in a brand like KIA or Hyundai, but this is Cadillac...or at least it's supposed to be. People buy 4 doors if they are interested in the back seat...it's an afterthought in a coupe. Besides, looking at pics of the ATS coupe, C-class coupe, 4 series and CTS coupe, there are armrests in the rear side panels and a center console w/ cup holder area. All pretty much the same layout. So I don't see what you are bitching about. ATS coupe: C class coupe: 4 series: CTS:
  2. A modern Syclone and Typhoon would be cool...even cooler would be an Escalade V series w/ the CTS-V engine.
  3. No biggie... people w/ coupes don't carry back seat passengers very often anyway...the backseat passengers can just ride w/ their arms on their legs, I guess.
  4. I'd imagine many young drivers would give up driving and get a bicycle or bus pass after dealing with the despair of a cheap worn out 20 yr old car that breaks constantly. Even 25 years ago I knew that $1000 or less cars were the ones to avoid like the plague.
  5. Happy Birthday!
  6. Yes...the crowds were huge, esp. yesterday...was never sure whether I was too close or too far...also was using my phone camera rather than my regular camera.
  7. http://public.fotki.com/robertwadehall/az-auto-auctions-2014/ I went to the Gooding & Company auction on Friday and Barrett-Jackson Friday and Saturday, took a few pics at the link above. Saw quite a few interesting cars, incl. a McLaren F1 LM (first I'd ever seen in person), 1998 Ferrari F1 car, various '50s-60s Ferraris, Maseratis, Lancias, Alfas, and countless muscle cars and '50s-70s American iron. Fun weekend. At the GM exhibit saw the '14 Camaro Z/28 in matte pearl white (Rick Hendrick bought it for $650k or so), saw and sat in a silver Chevy SS and dark red '14 CTS V-sport....really liked the SS and CTS in person, look better than in photos.
  8. One thing I didn't realize until I'd seen a few up close then looked up the dimensions is how large they are...the new Cherokee is actually slightly larger in the major dimensions than the 1st and 2nd gen Grand Cherokees were...
  9. Sharp design...some interesting details..I like the taillights....the side window profile has a SAAB vibe to it... love the color, very '70s color.
  10. Hard to tell..they could be starting with Dynacorn '67 Mustang shells, then modifying them heavily. That is, if they actually have a running prototype..most of the pics posted above could all just be photoshopped images..
  11. Yes..pretty easy to navigate...have to find the DVD, though..I've misplaced it.
  12. Are they static images or can you manipulate them to see the parts in different ways? Static.. I suspect it's a print manual that's been digitized..like a PDF. I used it to change out my seat back in '09, to charge my A/C..going to use it to replace the door window/lock switch soon.
  13. I have a shop manual DVD for the Jeep and it's been very useful on multiple occasions. Has nice exploded diagrams on how everything goes together w/ directions.
  14. Looks like a Corolla Tercel hatchback from around 1980..
  15. I see a lot more new Acuras than new Buicks or Lincolns around here..one of my bosses has an '11 TL, very nice inside..the exterior styling is funky but interesting in some details..
  16. Chalk that up to the piss poor build quality of the '97 to '03 F-Series trucks where everything feels like its made out of paper mache glued together with old dog turds. The interior plastics certainly felt emaciated. "Chintzy" would be one way to put it, "cheap" would be another. I'm going to say to hell with politeness and mildness and say "$h!ty." The Taurus-look pickups were also notorious for their weak structures--poor crash test results and collapsible roof..inside, they went from cheap plastics and rounded on that era to blocky and cheap for the '04-09 and '10-14 generations... This new truck looks too much like the '10-14 with a Super Duty style nose tacked on, it doesn't really go anywhere new stylistically..same old boring ugly blocky truck. GM and Ram have much better styling, IMO.
  17. I wonder if there is anything there 'there' if this is just another smoke and mirrors con job like Carbon Motors was. It doesn't make sense to have '67-68 Mustang styling and a Chevy engine. And the name 'BASS' is pretty weak...
  18. Hmmm..is that Brenda Priddy? Saw a dark red '46-48 Ford coupe street rod and a very clean white '72 Eldorado convertible (top down) in traffic tonight.
  19. Which could look like this....similar cues to the 200 with a 300 like large grille..http://www.cheersandgears.com/gallery/album/766-2015-hyundai-genesis/
  20. Happy Birthday, dude!
  21. Woo hoo...this afternoon. About 12 1/2 years to get here..what an adventure it has been.
  22. The greenhouse reminds me of the new Genesis, the Fusion, A7, and esp. the Avalon..the rear has touches of Hyundai and Audi (taillights). It's a pleasant enough design, but it's very derivative of other cars and has no family resemblance to the 300.
  23. The current F150 is known for it's cheap and nasty interior, this looks a bit better. The exterior is just the same old F150 theme they have had since 2004 with an ugly '08+ style Super Duty front end.
