  1. Should of gone to LA or SF...more forward looking than NY.
  2. Yup, and if we can believe the spy shots, Malibu is next to fall in line... sigh... So is the LaCrosse. The Impala and XTS are already there...though I like the Impala roofline.
  3. GM did it in '78.. Yup, and if we can believe the spy shots, Malibu is next to fall in line... sigh... long, low roof six window fastback sedans. I blame the Audi A7, it started the trend. Benz CLS was before the A7, but it was just a melted E-class... the A7 is the template for all that followed, imo. The CLS may have been on E-class mechanicals, but looks nothing like the E-class..the CLS design is my favorite of modern Benzes....I like the A7, esp. that it's a hatchback. Of course, 6-window midsize sedans are nothing new...GM did it with the A-bodies in the '70s (RWD) and 80s (FWD), Audi going back to the '70s, Ford w/ the Taurus, etc.. Today there are so many w/ similar greenhouses...Fusion, Avalon, 200, Sonata, etc...
  4. My brother used to have a yellow '76 Chevy stepside very similar to that one Drew posted. Coming out of a restaurant tonight I walked past a silver '15 Sonata..mistook it for a Fusion--the profile is so similar. So many fastback 6 window sedans these days...
  5. Yeah, I've only put about 200 miles on it in the last 13 years...has 64k, original paint, interior. Needs the A/C recharged.
  6. I miss driving a manual...the only time I get in one is a couple times a year when I'm back in Ohio and drive my 5.0.
  7. Saw a white super stretch XTS limo today, first one I'd seen.
  8. The dealers will probably tack on an extra $10-25k in 'market adjustment'.
  9. The new Escalade's LEDs seem to work that way also..saw one this afternoon, the light pipe LEDs stayed lit even though the turn signal was making blinky blinky...
  10. At least the sedans are in increasing alpha order... XE < XF < XJ. But what do those letters MMEEAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNN ?!?!?!?!?!? Is the XJ really 4 steps better than an XF, and how does the F-type relate to the XF? Would an AWD Jag be an 'XEX' and how would you pronounce that, exactly? Don't think the letters mean anything today... they've had an XJ for nearly 50 years now. The F-type doesn't relate to the XF, it's the F-Type since it is sort of a successor to the classic E-Type...as far as AWD versions, I don't think they get any special designation.
  11. Stay dry...been pretty wet here today..
  12. At least the sedans are in increasing alpha order... XE < XF < XJ.
  13. Today's sightings were flooded roads. The Phoenix area set a new record for the most rain in a day--was raining steadily from around 2am till noon...on the drive to the office, a 4 lane street was partially underwater (maybe 2-3 feet at the low side) and I went through on the one open lane..saw a submerged white Chrysler Crossfire and a red Pontiac G6 cabrio (first of those I'd seen in ages).
  14. I don't think the CLA is the target; the C-class is the target..I'd assume the price will be in the ballpark of the ATS, 3-series, C-class, A4, IS, Q50...base in the mid 30s rising to the 50s probably...
  15. Sweet...I love Boulder...do you like it, Drew?
  16. That was the first thing I noticed..the greenhouse and doors strongly resemble the Commodore/SS...the XF has a similar greenhouse but sleeker..
  17. I like the CTS use of LEDs also. Speaking of LEDs, I noticed for the first time today the updated LaCrosse---they are like angry eyebrows or checkmarks over the headlights...hmmm
  18. The K900 is a bad name--sounds like a Kenworth name. And too much overlap w/ Hyundai...does Kia really need to try and match them model for model?
  19. What is the rationale for such a statement? The more brands the better...more consumer choice.
  20. Also saw a black late model Shelby GT500 w/ Arabic license plates..don't know what country it was from (Saudi Arabia? UAE?), though..
  21. Saw an eclectic group of cars yesterday morning on the way to work--white McLaren MP4-12C spyder, red Ferrari 458 spyder, black Cadillac XLR-v, and a black/silver Rolls Royce Wraith--the first of the new big RR coupes I've seen--stunning.
  22. I'm used to seeing Escalades and Yukons on the same lot, along w/ SRXes, Encores, Terrains, and Enclaves...not really any overlap in CUVs, but if Cadillac adds some, then Buick isn't going to be happy.. Buick is sort of the near-lux brand, I guess.it is strange that GM still has two filler brands between Chevy and Cadillac when most all other automakers have gone to a two brand strategy.
  23. That's how they are here in the Phoenix area...Buick, GMC, Cadillac..
  24. Cadillac only has one crossover. The SRX. The Escalade is an SUV .....as are the suburban, Tahoe, and Yukon. If they had 3 or 4, their sales would be a lot more. Look at all the lux marques.....the percent of crossover sales vs sedans..... And that is a FACT. Cadillac should be putting together an all out assault for 2016 MY ready to debut in Summer '15 of at least two new CUVs and a new SRX all simultaneously put out. New ATX (small), New SRX (med.) new CTX (large). Sales would go up JUST LIKE THAT. It is precisely what is driving the market. The Audi Q5 actually OUTSOLD the A4 last month. The two top sellers at Acura are the MDX and the RDX. BMW is adding more and more CUVs. I would assume the reason they don't have smaller CUVs at Cadillac already is Buick..pressure from them is pretty keeping them from adding more.. Nope. Buick is a non-issue and is autonomous from Cadillac. Uwe has made that clear. 'Sides.. Buick is a complimentary brand to CHEVY as is GMC. Cadillac's line-up is independent. The reality is Buicks and Cadillacs are there in the same dealerships, so there is going to be cross shopping..and hasn't Buick been targeting Lexus for years (which should be a Cadillac competitor)...
  25. They dropped the ball on the new 200, though..interior choices are black or black and light gray. Blech. I don't think Chrysler even offers a gray interior on the new 200, even on the base models. The one you are thinking of is a linen color which is not gray at all. More like antique white? Looked gray on the website...off-white, pale gray...not too awful, I guess.
