  1. Sweet...reminds of the red '76 Electra 225 coupe a buddy of mine had in high school...what a boat that was!
  2. Some of the Ford Class C Econoline based motorhomes also have the V10. Friends of mine have one, about 22 ft..mostly use it for tailgating at Broncos games.
  3. There are two '10 Mustang (V6) convertibles at work today, both a metallic red (kind of like CTS red) w/ saddle & black interiors, California plates..maybe rentals since they are both in the visitor lot. I like that color combination, very sharp.
  4. I assume a lot of the engine compartment issues are because engines aren't usually designed for a specific car, but end up in many different cars with different engine compartment layouts. I seem to recall reading that the 4th gen Camaros had to have the engine dropped to get to the spark plugs?
  5. Those seatbelts attached to the doors and the motorized ones were some of the dumbest automotive ideas ever...they were just there because certain automakers were too cheap to put in airbags sooner. Thankfully, I never had a car with that nonsense.
  6. A modern GMC motorhome would be cool..didn't the original use Toronado-derived FWD parts? Maybe a modern one w/ Lambda parts... I saw about 1/2 dozen of these yesterday on a local RV dealer lot.
  7. +1. That red car is so worn out it would take 5x what it's worth probably to bring it to clean condition... Good way to look at it. Pontiac has so much EXCITEMENT!! that you really can't contain it in one thread.
  8. Wow....people still have outhouses in the US in 2009? Shocking
  9. The green '67 Firebird had been in really nice shape, until some moron drove a firetruck off a narrow road above this guy's driveway. The article was in the Denver Post a while back.
  10. Wow..can't recall the last time I've seen a '78-79 Phoenix.
  11. Sounds like you are a glutton for punishment....moving from one money pit clunker to another...
  12. I remember as a kid how much fun it was to go to Camping World stores w/ my Dad and shop for gadgets. RVing is when I learned how to read maps and act as the navigator for our cross-country vacations. It really was a lot of fun, for a family w/ a couple dogs. And I used to help out w/ the hitch in hooking up the tow car. Over about 10 years, my folks' tow car for the RVs progressed from a '77 Chevy Vega to an '81 Chevette Scooter to an '84 Ford Escort Diesel to an '88 Bronco II (the last two became mine when I was in college and grad school).
  13. One cool feature I just discovered. I posted a message. PCS posted the next message. I posted the next message. I went to reply to his, and my reply (and his message quoted) was automagically attached on to my last message.
  14. Fleetwood (maker of many brands--Southwind, Pace Arrow, Midas, Tioga, etc) and Winnebago used to have good reputations for mainstream brands..not sure how they are now. I know they are still both in the biz. High end brands include Holiday Rambler, Airstream, Monaco, Beaver, Foretravel. But my RV knowledge stops at about 1992, though... Good features to have are awnings, pull out rooms (a feature seen in the last 15 years or so--pretty common now, even on Class C models), a good generator (Onan). Pusher diesels seem to be very common in Class As, they were uncommon back in the day when I was in the lifestyle. One very cool feature on some of the high end pusher (coach style) RVs today is a basement slide-out garage that can hold a small, low car like a Miata. Oh yeah, my Dad always wore heavy duty rubber gloves when hooking up the Stinky Slinky (the flexible hose that connected the gray water (sewage) tank to a drain..basically the sewer hookup)
  15. Not an expert, but I spent about 15 years vacationing in RVs w/ my folks... their first when I was a kid was a 22 ft Mobile Traveler Class C ('73 Dodge Tradesman cab, 318), followed by 3 front engined Class As...a '78 25 ft Southwind (Dodge 440), an '81 28 ft Pace Arrow (Chevy 454) and an '85 33 ft Winnebago Chieftain (Chevy 454). With the Class As, we towed cars on the back to use to go out and about from the RV parks. RVing is a lot of fun, albeit an expensive way to travel(the cost of an RV + gas + upkeep). Probably some bargains out there in older RVs, though..
  16. Maybe a tan, brown, and red SW theme. Or a classic 3270 style all black background w/ green text.
  17. Saw a triple black '93-96 Fleetwood Brougham in traffic a few min ago, very clean condition. Also saw a sharp black '65 Mustang coupe, 6 cyl. And a silver late model Renault Megane 4dr.
  18. I'm hooked on FarmVille and FishVille on Facebook.
  19. Saw a really clean '77 Malibu 2dr today, dark red, Rally weels. Haven't seen it around before. Saw a dark red '10 LaCrosse 2nd one I've seen this week...looks better in a darker color, I think..
  20. Those perforated grilles are becoming quite trendy, the ML and Taurus have them also..
  21. A great slice of Big '80s cheese. Love the vocal on that song, esp. the repetition of Amadeus. I do enjoy having grown up in the era when MTV was fun.
  22. Well, his ex-wife did torch his Firebird back in '82...
  23. wedding (a couple friends' office romance led to a wedding..., he 10 years younger).
  24. That's some scary $h!. My brother has had at least 3 restraining orders against him, from his ex-wife to ex-girlfriends.
