  1. At least C&G hasn't ended up like Josh's site. GM Source is nothing but a spam site now.
  2. Got to be careful with overdoing the metamucil, though. Overuse of that cost me $1140 earlier this month.
  3. Happy Birthday, wherever you are out there...
  4. Odd the wife didn't go for the Infiniti..women seem to usually like the prestige brands (esp. if they aren't paying for it).
  5. Went out to fetch some takeout for dinner and saw a couple cars from widely different realities-- a very clean '76 Grand Prix, pale yellow w/ white top, Rally II wheels. Pretty sure it was a '76--rectangular headlights, pointy '30s style grille with narrow vertical grille bars...disco and 8 tracks. The other was a white Ford Transit Connect.
  6. Heh-heh..isn't every office (at least those in suburban office parks) like that these days? Every place I've worked in the past decade has been that way... Men and women. Toyotas above all else, followed by Hondas. Nissans. Lexuses. Acuras. Infinitis. BMWs. Audis. the occasional token American model, usually an SUV (higher percentage of those in CO, of course).
  7. I never put anything personal on my corporate Outlook calendar. I keep my personal calendar in a Google Calendar.
  8. That '73 Regal is pretty sweet.
  9. Growing up in S. Florida, I took 2 years of Spanish in high school, with one teacher that was Cuban American and another that was a Peruvian immigrant..picked up some regional specifics that I've long forgotten. What confused me was the 2 years in college in Ohio, where the instruction and books were focused on Espana Spanish w/ the Castillian variations. I really would like to focus myself and get back into learning languages, beyond 'dos cervezas, por favor' and 'Quando parte el treno' and 'WC?' (the universal question). I know trying going into a pharmacy in Milano and trying to ask for laxatives wasn't easy (not much fun having 48 hrs of transatlantic constipation..)
  10. The Jeep turned 105k today. I did my big winter service last Fri-Sat...had the oil and oil filter changed, tranny fluid changed, tires rotated, radiator, thermostat, hoses and coolant replaced. 2 AZ summers were too many for it's cooling system, apparently. I'm ready for all the snow and ice winter will bring..
  11. Seat height adjustment makes a big difference... some cars have more vertical adjustment, as well as the fore-aft and backrest angle. I usually have to do a bit of adjustment to find my ideal position..it's so annoying having to recline the seat back too much to compensate for lack of height adjustment (as I've had to do in some lower trimmed rental cars).
  12. 4 years of Spanish drove me crazy with things like these...and the differences between Spain Spanish and Latin American Spanish. And all the idioms. I should have learned French or Italian instead, since I prefer vacationing in Europe.
  13. That 2dr ht Nova wagon conversion is pretty slick..wonder if any one has built one using a 2dr sedan side window and B-pillar instead? Saw 2 G8 GTs today--a dark red one this morning (hadn't seen that color, looks like a color I've seen on new Corvettes--really sharp dark red) and a silver one this afternoon..
  14. I've never had one..my Mom has an old one dating to the '70s w/ chrome and woodgrain...think it came from Sears. Still works pretty well.
  15. dissent
  16. That's pretty cool. I wonder if the Colorado Highway Patrol will get some. For years, they had a number of mid '90s Z28s, painted silver and black w/ minimal graphics and no roof lights.
  17. I think it's a British Vanden Plas Princess, a badge-engineered variation of the MG 1100 etc. There were also Austin, Morris, Riley and Wolseley versions. Matchbox made the MG version in 1:64th back in the '60s, have a couple in my collection. BMC
  18. gone from here
  19. Saw a couple oldies on the freeway this morning, always an uncommon event...a sharp dark gray '70-72 Nova coupe and an all-white '64-66 Chevy pickup w/ cap. Also saw a silver current style BMW M3 convertible, top down, not that unusual to see, but it had Alberta plates and two young guys in suits w/ shaved heads. Canadian mafia down in Phoenix on business? Also saw a CTS in a color I didn't recognize--thought it was black, but was a very dark wine/maroon red. Beautiful color.
  20. I've been running the #s on the Mustang GT coupe and convertible, Camaro SS, CTS AWD, MKS,even the Taurus...also searching on CPO Town Cars. Thinking of one of two approaches--either keep the Jeep for winter and get a new fun car for good weather (i.e. Mustang or Camaro) or keep the Jeep for winter and get a mid-to-large sedan for the daily driver ...I like both modern (CTS, MKS) and old school (Town Car).. I'd really like to buy something new or CPO in the next 8-24 months, but will hold off until after I move..lots of stuff to do, solutions to work out. Rob
  21. A low car w/ a slopey nose like the ES would go under the semi and take the roof right off, probably.
  22. There were something to that fact in one of the earlier threads on this subject..
  23. Sounds like the ES has an interlock to prevent it from going into to neutral when moving. Sounds like a lot of bad design all the way around, starting with the stupid push button..
  24. And the poor kid has a dumb name 'Falcon'...maybe he will fly away. Oddly, his brother isn't "Eagle' but 'Rylo' or 'Ryko' instead.
