  1. Bizzaro....how about that Camaro front on an S-10.... I saw pics somewhere of an early '80s Fairmont 4dr w/ a Mustang front clip of similar era, which was semi plausable as they were both on the Fox platform and with some massaging, the Mustang front end would probably sort of fit...
  2. The HUMMER grille on other vehicles gave me an idea... a while back there was a pic on Autoblog or Jalopnik or somewhere of a Merc G class with an E-class based front clip. I wonder when someone will take an H2 and adapt a 5th gen Camaro front end? Or a CTS front end? Or a Solstice front end? Madness!!!!!
  3. The hose or fluid line sounds plausible if you lost a lot of fluid at once. I would think a bad seal or worn gasket around the tranny pan would leak out slower...I had a tf fluid leak due to a bad gasket on the pan and it was very slow.
  4. How about the HUMMER grille, etc applied to an Aveo? That would be bad ass..
  5. This reminds me of those old anti-drug ads with the frying pan...clearly, this is the product of someone who has had a lot of hard drugs. Disgusting. Or maybe whoever built this is this era's equivalent of George Barris or Ed Roth...they built a lot of overwrought, tasteless customs in the '60s.
  6. Ohio
  7. I assume this is about the old 4Runners (the ones from the '90s). They were notorious for rollovers, being tall and narrow.
  8. I have a lot of paint chips, esp. the front edges of the front fenders and hood. And the big quarter panel dent from 4 years ago that I never bothered to fix. Might get that repaired and a repaint eventually.
  9. You car is looking great with all your upgrades...paint looks great in these pics...that's the original paint? I wish my Jeep still looked that good after 9+ years...
  10. Looking forward to seeing one in person...really like the roofline...very sleek.
  11. Yesterday I saw two car haulers on the freeway with two sets of new-for-2010 cars, cars from different worlds and philosophies. One had a 1/2 dozen '10 Camaros in a rainbow of fruit colors, and the other 8 '10 Kia Souls, similarly colorful. Fascinating.
  12. I guess someone got tired of waiting on a BMW M1 revival..
  13. This has been one of the driest monsoon seasons here in recent years, I think...much dryer than last summer...only 2 storms so far this summer, both fairly mild w/ some lightning and rain...no extended power outages for me.
  14. Yeah, but I bet it's very balanced and handles well. For reasons I still don't know, one of my housemates in grad school fixed up a rusty early '80s RWD Corolla coupe (the really square ones) and put BMW roundels and 318i badges on it before he sold it...
  15. Don't recall that.. I've never looked closely at the Avenger, but had a Sebring convertible rental last year. Pleasant enough to drive, but oh, the interior and the lack of trunk space (with a giant trunk lid)...just seemed very cheaply put together....
  16. This might be the first positive press I've seen about these cars.
  17. Rental agencies seem to make up their own categories... I remember the Grand Am and Ciera were called midsize by Avis, and the '00-07 Taurus was called full size by Hertz. It's all bogus.
  18. The 2nd gen Vue doesn't have the plastic body panels does it? I thought that Saturn detail died with the Ion and 1st gen Vue..
  19. It will be interesting to see how the Corvette evolves from here..the C6 is awfully good all around in all it's variations..
  20. Like port holes on a Buick, except speed holes make you go faster... (It's a Simpsons reference).
  21. Hmmm...maybe both. It needs some yellow trim...yellow=fast. And some speed holes.
  22. I wonder if it had one yellow wiper...that was a part of the F&F MO a few years ago. I've never seen a Prius anything that was but bone stock...so the kiddies getting a hold of them now and personalizing them, sounds like. Can't wait to see one with a 'Type R' badge and giant rear wing..
  23. One has to wonder, wouldn't it be better to hold these kind of meetings at a remote, secluded resort that could be secured without inconveniencing a whole city?
  24. The interior looks very nice, like quality materials and cleanly styled...doesn't scream 'cheap' like so many small cars do.
  25. Was anyone on here in Seattle for its messy G20 meeting? I have couple of friends that lived in Seattle then but were intentionally out of town when it went down.
