  3. Sharp looking car...big leap forward w/ modern platform, engine, transmission, etc...well executed interior and exterior, nicely detailed, nice use of Buick styling cues. Should serve the brand well and draw in potential customers that never paid attention to Buick previously.

  6. Ya... I've been getting my breaking news from Twitter the last few months...I usually always have Tweetdeck open in the background when I'm at home, and find it quicker than email notifications from CNN/BBC/etc that I also get. Rob
  7. Must not have a covenant in the 'hood.
  8. Some of the issues at Pontiac were no doubt due to dealers as well...weren't the rebadges (G3, G5, Torrent) just there to placate the dealers who wanted to compete w/ Chevy dealers? With some polish, the G6 could have been a competitive product, I think..had interesting styling and a variety of body styles, unique within GM. And of course, the G8 and Solstice were great products... Rob
  9. One of the more amusing videos I saw this morning was the one for a song by Pink..the theme reminded me of the movie Misery, she's keeping a boyfriend captive and beating him. Saw some video by a young band of 20 somethings that had a sharp blue '68 Camaro SS out in the desert...looked like Joshua Tree or 29 Palms area. Funny to see kiddies with a car twice their age rather than an age-appropriate Civic. (j/k). Another video had a clean white '66 Plymouth Fury 4dr sedan. I guess I feel old...just haven't watched music videos in ages. I grew up when MTV actually had videos all the time, and 'I want my MTV' was a popular catch phrase... Rob
  10. The Jeep hood lettering and the driver's side Grand Cherokee lettering are like that on mine...turning gray.. . Rob
  11. Beautiful car... my favorite era of B-bodies. Great color. Rob
  12. Found this funny..the Urban Word of the Day for today.. August 12: Magic Toaster A derogatory term describing an un-savvy computer users view of what a computer is. Why my magic toaster no come on? I plug in, but no toast.
  13. Insomnia. Watching TV at 4am..Vh1 has a program called 'Nocturnal State' that shows videos...cool. Didn't realize videos were shown anywhere anymore. Insomnia sucks, tho.. R
  14. Instead of the Ram emblem up front, maybe a Dodge fratzog would look good. I saw a pic of a new Challenger with that change, kinda cool. Rob
  15. That LeMans blue '68 SS Camaro looks just like the one my brother used to have, except he didn't have the front spoiler...same stripe package.
  16. Arizona summers are lethal on batteries, I've heard. I hear they only last from 12 months to 2 years max here. In Colorado, I got 5 years out a battery. Another possibility could be something is draining it...I've had that problem with aftermarket radios being left on, and an underhood light that stuck in the on position.
  17. Got back to it in the evening. Got the seat all bolted in, all the power connections connected. Everything seems to work. Took for a test drive, seemed solid. Glad to have it back on the road. The Merc is starting to have problems again--seems to have an exhaust leak now. Rob
  18. Took today off and waited at home for Fed Ex. The package came, the seat is in the good condition, most importantly, the track and frame have no cracks, bends, etc. It shipped with the track separate from the seat, that's the first challenge. 4 nuts fasten the track bolts to the seat frame...all hidden, have to reach inside the bottom of the seat with a wrench and blindly tighten them...got started...waiting until evening when the temps drop. Humid and 100 now. May have to wait for the weekend when I have a smaller hand available. Rob
  19. Such a car could definitely have been interesting, but I don't think it would sell anywhere near as well as the Camaro may sell... the Camaro is a much bigger image product for Chevy. Rob
  20. Ford is the only maker of such cars (Panthers) today, AFAIK. All full size imported cars are unit body construction, AFAIK.. Those are high end models, though.... I specifically meant GM mass market midsize coupes like the Cutlass, Monte Carlo, etc. I don't expect to see new GM coupes of that sort, RWD or FWD. Rob
  21. No hair now... Rob
  22. Nothing wrong with the Big 80s...I still love a lot of the music, cars, and movies of that era...growing up then, it was an important time of my life...still enjoy my '80s cars. But I also enjoy the here and now.. Rob
  23. Just like their will never be another RWD full size BOF GM car, there will never be another personal lux coupe. That world is gone. Rob
  24. At least they sold to enthusiasts, unlike the mediocre W-Grand Prix which was 77% fleet when it went out... Rob
  25. Well, Saturn would likely have had a next gen Astra had they continued as a GM brand. Referring to it as an Opel Astra would have confused Americans, most of whom have no idea what an Opel is. Rob
