  1. Haven't tried them, but looked it up and there is one right down the street from the Israeli place I ate at tonight...will have to try them. Yes, lots of similarities across various Med. cuisines (hummus, pita bread, etc) but lots of differences. There is a Moroccan place in the Denver burbs that I love, have been eating there for over 10 years now, has the best spicy chicken shwarma w/ yellow rice that I know. Great lamb kabobs also. There was a great Israeli place up in Scottsdale that I got take out from last year when I was working there, alas, they are out of business now.
  2. +1. Really like that, or ranch. Speaking of salads, I tried a new Israeli restaurant in the Chand (Chandler, AZ--suburb where I work) tonight--had a tasty Medterranean salad (aka greek salad) w/ taziki sauce, some of the best hummus I've had in a while, and a delectable chicken sharma plate.
  3. Saw several interesting personalized plates stuck in traffic this afternoon: On a silver late model Viper roadster, 'THKUGOD'. On a orange Cobalt SS, 'ENRGZR'. On a black Merc SLK 'ERGHTHR' (?) And the best I've seen in a while, on a screaming yellow Porsche 911 GT3 (996 era)--- 'BITEY'.
  4. At lunch today, I saw a black '09 Vibe with the 'Vibe' badge on the rear hatch replaced with a vintage style 'GTO' badge. That's different...
  5. I heard a variation on that recently (in a movie, maybe, don't recall the source)---'What doesn't kill you makes you stranger'..I like that. I do love bacon and scrambled eggs at least once a week...w/ pancakes, biscuits, or toast. Once in a while, I go out and have a huge weekend breakfast at Cracker Barrel (love the country ham), Original Pancake House (bacon pancakes--delectible), or local places...love crepes once in a while also.
  6. I drink it for the taste...Tropicana Pure Pomegranate Blueberry juice..love the taste..alternate it with OJ in the mornings.
  7. Yesterday was my accident day..walking into the post office w/ a stack of boxes, I stepped into a curb cut that I didn't see and went down. hard. skinned both knees, hitting the left one hard, big bruise, skinned my right elbow, and hit my head on a wall. Been popping Aleves since then.
  8. Saw today a '10 V6 Camaro in gray w/ the base wheels, first I've seen like that. Had a white pinstripe down the beltline. Saw a couple personalized plates--an Infiniti Q56 (I think that's what the 3rd gen Q was called?) w/ the plate 'PAPAJHN'...thought he had a gold 2nd gen Camaro? Saw also a dark blue Acura RL w/ huge chrome bling wheels that had the plate 'GO N LO'..not really..more of 'GO N HI' with those big wheels.
  9. Ya, I have no idea what the 0-60 of my Jeep (195 hp, 4500lbs) is, and I don't care...it's a comfortable daily driver commuter wagon...0-60 doesn't matter in city and suburban stop-and-go traffic.
  10. During the week, I usually drink a bottle of cold Starbucks iced coffee (Vanilla, Coffee, or Mocha) or one of their doubleshots w/ a bowl of cereal or bagel, and a glass of pomengrate juice or OJ. Then at work another 1-2 cups of hot coffee. Occasionally, I skip breakfast at home and go to Einstein Bagel or get a breakfast burrito at the office or a local taqueria. On the weekends, I either brew up some coffee or go to the Starbucks drive thru. If I skip breakfast, I get a headache and hungry by 10am...if I skip caffiene, I get a headache.
  11. Looks like a late '80s-early '90s Nissan Silva (240SX) w/ a C5 arse.
  12. I couldn't imagine driving a '91 Corolla 50 miles, let alone 595k miles. What a miserable life he must have lived...
  13. Unthinkable..Toyotas with problems? I thought they were supposed to be perfect and cure global warming, halitosis, sleep apnea, etc....
  14. GM is addressing the soft lux market w/ the LaCrosse, taking the same approach Toyota does with the Avalon and ES and Lincoln with the MKS, basing it on a mainstream platform. It's an approach that's been very successful for Toyota. Cadillac has the performance lux market covered w/ the CTS..
  15. Didn't 60 Minutes or Dateline have an expose show on this topic (specifically called out the '90s 4Runners) 5 years ago or so? I thought it was common knowledge that BOF trucks and SUVs in general (not just Toyota) have weak body construction and collapse in a roll over.. I specifically remember the late '90s F150s also being shown...big turds rolled over and the roof collapsed down to the tops of the doors...weak junk. Are the pillars made out of recycled pop cans or what? Or is just that trucks and SUVs are too heavy?
  16. Beatles ('Yesterday' song) (Speaking of merry-go-rounds, this reminded me of childhood--ALL of the playground equipment at my elementary schools were metal...monkey bars, slides, swings, merry go round, an actual old American La France firetruck to crawl over and in and out (with rust and spiders), a forest full of trees and pine cones behind the playground, etc. It's amazing more of my generation didn't get maimed in elementary school in the late '70s-early '80s.
  17. Bizzaro....how about that Camaro front on an S-10.... I saw pics somewhere of an early '80s Fairmont 4dr w/ a Mustang front clip of similar era, which was semi plausable as they were both on the Fox platform and with some massaging, the Mustang front end would probably sort of fit...
  18. The HUMMER grille on other vehicles gave me an idea... a while back there was a pic on Autoblog or Jalopnik or somewhere of a Merc G class with an E-class based front clip. I wonder when someone will take an H2 and adapt a 5th gen Camaro front end? Or a CTS front end? Or a Solstice front end? Madness!!!!!
  19. The hose or fluid line sounds plausible if you lost a lot of fluid at once. I would think a bad seal or worn gasket around the tranny pan would leak out slower...I had a tf fluid leak due to a bad gasket on the pan and it was very slow.
  20. How about the HUMMER grille, etc applied to an Aveo? That would be bad ass..
  21. This reminds me of those old anti-drug ads with the frying pan...clearly, this is the product of someone who has had a lot of hard drugs. Disgusting. Or maybe whoever built this is this era's equivalent of George Barris or Ed Roth...they built a lot of overwrought, tasteless customs in the '60s.
  22. Ohio
  23. I assume this is about the old 4Runners (the ones from the '90s). They were notorious for rollovers, being tall and narrow.
  24. I have a lot of paint chips, esp. the front edges of the front fenders and hood. And the big quarter panel dent from 4 years ago that I never bothered to fix. Might get that repaired and a repaint eventually.
  25. You car is looking great with all your upgrades...paint looks great in these pics...that's the original paint? I wish my Jeep still looked that good after 9+ years...
