Interesting snow pic from this weekend..
Found this on the Denver Post website..had a big snowstorm back home on Friday...in the foreground is an SRX, but in the background? Looks like something from the '50s.

The Case for GM: GM CEO Fritz Henderson
Probably internal, to inspire his managers..

Idea's... for my next car and its a poll... UPDATE 2
Probably no chain requirements in the market(s) it's sold in. The story I've always read about GMNA's big wheel gaps is clearance for tire chains.

Look what's springing up outside today...
There was a Cruise-In at a mall in downtown (technically, uptown) Phoenix today...drove by, didn't see any convenient place for non-participants to park and walk around, just drove around it..probably a couple hundred cars or more...saw a variety of interesting cars--several '55-57 Chevy pickups, '60s Impala hts and convertibles (stock and lowriders), a couple really clean '70-73 Camaros, a sharp white w/ orange stripes '69 Camaro SS convertible, a very clean pale blue '69 Fairlane 2dr ht, several nice '65-66 Mustangs..

Idea's... for my next car and its a poll... UPDATE 2
G2...I suppose the next gen of it will be a rebadged Spark? A G2 GXP with the nostril hood scoops would be badass..

GM to Keep GMC and Pontiac
Ya, I think a Pontiac brand of the Solstice, the G8 sedan and maybe a restyled, sportier 2nd gen (Alpha-based?) G6 w/ the coupe and convertible would give Pontiac a focused line. Leave Chevy to the broad, entry level mainstream market, and Buick to the entry lux, and Cadillac as the lux brand.

OH MY GOD
Yeah, different types of shoes vary a lot also...like my golf shoes, biking shoes, and my Piloti driving shoes are a smaller size than my 'work' shoes. Then there are the people that have feet that are two different sizes...for a year or so after foot surgery to remove a bone spur on her big toe, my sister had to buy two pairs of shoes to be able to make one pair.

OH MY GOD
I have yet to have a problem with buying shoes online...maybe it's because I generally stick with just a few brands--Ecco (my favorite brand), Mephisto, Rockport, New Balance, but 10 1/2 or 44 UK seems to work fine every time.

GM to Keep GMC and Pontiac
The general public/average car buyer couldn't care less about GM's first 70 years..they only know what has happened in their lifetimes...so the distant past is irrelevant for this issue. Again, what counts is what they are doing NOW...not in the past. If GM is going to have a future, they have to look forward..this is no time for sentimentality or excessive nostalgia. The Sloan structure worked in the '60s and other decades because GM had a lot less competition than they do now, different time, different place. Again, irrelevant. The generic public/average car buyer doesn't read business books...

GM to Keep GMC and Pontiac
? There was a lot more redundancy in past times than now(80s-90s, for instance)...CPOB all had slightly differentiated models across each platform--think J-, X-, A-, N-, W- bodies... Even now, there is still plenty of redundancy...3 midsize Epslions, 3 compact Deltas (with badge engineering w/ the G5), the Canyon and Colorado, etc..

Ah... I remember that hideous front end from the later US coupes, didn't realize they stopped making the sedans. I guess Avis didn't want any.

REPORT: North American International Auto Show likely to move out of Detroit, see other people
I know..I lived in the area 3 years in the '90s, went to the NAIAS every year...COBO isn't the greatest venue either. Maybe Las Vegas could be a viable site also, they hold big shows there every year like the SEMA show, CES, etc.

REPORT: North American International Auto Show likely to move out of Detroit, see other people
They should make the LA show the NAIAS. Better venue, and much nicer weather there in Nov/Dec than Detroit in January.

Look what's springing up outside today...
Went in early today (6am)...while buzzing down the 10 I saw a very clean white /w red interior, no vinyl top, early '80s Caddy Coupe de Ville..sweet.

Interesting..for some reason, the Canadian Sunfire looks different than the US version did..the taillights, maybe?

GM to Keep GMC and Pontiac
And such a range, C/BPG/C, gets GM back to the classic brand structure, sans Oldsmobile, once you jettison Saturn/HUMMER/SAAB. The big distinction from the classic structure is (ideally) less redundancy/overlap and more focused brands.

GM to Keep GMC and Pontiac
Funny how LaNeve mentions Buick and GMC as 'very profitable', but doesn't mention Pontiac. I would think Pontiac would be very profitable, with it's volume and the rebadges (G3,G5) and the old models (G6).

GM to Keep GMC and Pontiac
Well, BPG wouldn't make much sense without P and G. Things are moving very fast, lots of rumours and very little fact in press..will be interesting to see how everything shakes out in a few months.

Birthday Wishes!!
That's no fun.. those big Mercs are fun to drive, though. I enjoy driving my sister's occasionally.

Birthday Wishes!!
Interesting...so what's the story on the 500SEL, did 68 'sell' it to DF or something like that? 7-day law, eh? I have no idea what it is in AZ, but in CO, you can use a temporary plate up to 60 days. Another thing..I'm not sure how it works between states and using an old plate, but a guy I used to work w/ in CO bought a Boxster in LA and drove it back a few years ago..he drove around a month or so on the previous owners' CA plates...that seemed odd to me.

Stupid computer question
Interesting..I think even my 15 yr old Packard Bell PC had the PS/2 style mouse port (i.e. the green or purple round plug in).

Stupid computer question
The thing that always annoyed me about mouse balls were how the rollers around the ball would get gunked up and make movements awkward. This thread reminds me of a faux-PSA I saw on an episode of Reno 911! about keeping your mouse balls clean.
