  1. Invalid. The X5, X6, and Z4 come from S. Carolina... The 3-series is not built in the US.
  2. Yes, esp. since they are going to be in the same showroom.. a sporty compact RWD model for Pontiac makes more sense than a RWD entry lux model for Buick.
  3. If you factor out the fleet sales, it probably isn't, though.
  4. Well, Chevy, Pontiac, and Saturn are probably all getting Delta IIs---does GM really need 4 FWD compacts in NA?
  5. Unfortunately, Pontiac is most likely the next to go the way of Oldsmobile...
  6. It has a lot of potential, though.
  7. Well, Cadillac is 2nd only to Chevy in importance...Chevy's the volume brand, Cadillac is trying to grow into being a competitive, world class luxury brand..
  8. I'm surprised...I had assumed Alpha would get cancelled and GM would do something predictable like a Delta or Epsilon II based small Caddy..
  9. Perhaps it's the brand that is hurting it? The target consumers aren't considering a Pontiac? Pontiac isn't exactly known for modern RWD, V8 sports sedans...
  10. I miss Dana Carvey as Perot and Phil Hartman as Ross Perot's running mate on SNL.
  11. Interesting..never knew the Camaro was a top 10...must have been the sales in the 70s and 80s.
  12. Well, gas prices and recession happened. Never? I suspect Pontiac will re-focus and concentrate on FWD rental cars, which has been their niche in recent years.
  13. I would think so...unless they are following the Toyota philosophy of no. fun. ever. All serious FWD generics. All the time.
  14. Speaking of charities, I give to several annually-- 1. American Cancer Society, since I lost my father and an uncle to cancer... both directly and through my participation in Relay For Life every year 2. ASPCA 3. American Humane Society 4. Westie Rescue 5. Australian Terrier Rescue 6. Hospice Foundation of America 7. Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado 8. Free Software Foundation plus my alma maters.
  15. Cool.... I have my Dad's 1968 vintage Snapper Comet rear-engined riding mower stored in my Mom's barn..I will always keep it, has a lot of sentimental attachment for me, not to mention it's the mower I learned to mow on.
  16. No different than a drunk driver, yet we see no one shouting for banning alcohol sales and possession... personally, I'm for the legalization/decriminalization of MJ purchase/possession...not sure about how I feel about any legalization of hard drugs.
  17. Outsourcing. It has hurt my industry (software engineering) and many others. Though illegal immigration, healthcare, and the national debt are important to me as well.
  18. I could support many of those platform issues...my concern about elimination of income tax, though--where to replace the shortfall from? The government would need $$$ to invest in infrastructure, etc..
  19. conservative
  20. +1.
  21. +1. Yes, Whitman would have been a credible, rational choice. Palin represents the lunatic fringe.
  22. Never heard of those...wasn't there also a car called the Jordan Playboy in the 20s or something?
  23. Mmmm...lots of goodies. I'll take the '71 Rivi and the '69 Marquis. My folks had a Marquis similar to that ('71), but I was too little to remember it. My folks had a '58 Monterey back in '58, but no continental kit (which I think look stoopid) AFAIK.
  24. Collectible Automobile magazine had an article on them a few years ago...it does sound like they used parts from GM and others over the years quite a bit. The basic body and structure dates to about 1956, I think.
  25. I saw the stealth Century again yesterday...(there is '97-05 Buick Century nearby that is painted entirely flat black--all the chrome, the wheels, everything).
