  1. Hondas have always had a bit of a premium over other brands... they are further up the ladder than the Korean cheapies...
  2. How about a black '70 Sport Fury GT... aircraft carrier proportions..hidden headlights..chop-top look (I always thought the roof was too small for the body on those cars)...great styling.. I'd like to have a couple '70s cars for the occasional weekend drive. Don't have the garage space currently...would have to have a '71 LTD 2dr ht and a '71 Riviera.
  3. I never could figure that out..I've always thought FWDs by nature sucked at handling, being nose heavy, prone to understeer...that was a big WTF??? moment for me.
  4. I have a lot of friends that are Indian immigrants...many speak English (the Queen's English) better than many US-born Anglos that I've met...
  5. Yes, as is Canada. North America. I think gmforlife meant the US which some commonly call America.
  6. Woo...that would give Caddy an A-class competitor...how about a V-series version? 1.4 litres of fury on the Nurburgring.
  7. On Cox cable here in Phoenix I get at least 5 Spanish channels... it is fun to channel surf through them sometimes, the telenovellas (soaps) often have hot curvy Latinas..
  8. Dude, try and at least spell 'America' correctly..
  9. They fixate on nonsense because they have nothing of substance of their own to present.
  10. I hear you..it's kind of absurd...but that's the way it is... targeted advertising. I've seen Spanish language TV commercials here on local, English language stations! Spanish speakers are the fastest growing group in the US..
  11. Well, the military is desperate for new recruits...they have to get what they can get.
  12. Heh-heh..it's like that all over here in Arizona... all the signs in Target, Wal-Mart, etc are bilingual. I've seen a few billboards in Spanish only.
  13. I'd like an interior color choice other than gray. I like the interior design, esp. the asymmetry and the way the center stack and IP are tied together, not unlike past BMWs. It's nice to see a dash done that way when most today go for the symmetrical approach. I like the lines and proportions of the exterior...I esp. like how Audi is moving away from traditional FWD proportions and going for more RWD-like proportioning.
  14. I love driving..and part of it is that I love maps... I've always liked studying maps of areas..and wanderlust..I love traveling, always want to see what's over the horizon, around the corner, over the next hill. I've managed to visit 38 states over the years, 2 provinces, and 8 countries...lots ahead to see over the coming years. I think traveling cross country several times w/ my folks in the family motor homes got me hooked as a kid on travel. When I was back in Ohio during the summers in high school, I got a platte book of all the townships and counties in the state, and started studying the state routes, county roads, township roads in my home county. I learned the roads of Tuscarawas County inside and out.
  15. I like C-Span... I watch them frequently and the BBC America evening news. I also listen to NPR.
  16. Yes... I'm renting my sister's house in Phoenix currently (she's working in Ohio). Nice lush green lawn, lots of flowering plants, palm trees, no cactus, huge pool (with diving board, 20+ ft long). Standing out in the yard, you would never know you are in a desert..the neighborhood looks like LA.. Arizona is a strange place... I'm not sure how much longer I'll be here..starting a contract next week for 6 months...come 2009, I may move back to Denver or maybe to a blue state. Agreed...Cindy comes off as kind of creepy...
  17. Yes, that's a hot button issue... I know a lot of people in Colorado that aren't happy about Arizona's allocation of water (I have a friend in Denver who always gives me a hard time about 'stealing his water'). I'm still amazed at the growth of the Phoenix metro and Las Vegas... without a/c, irrigation, and Colorado River water, there's no way you could have such large populations in such a harsh climate.
  18. Well put..I concur. McCain's approach has definitely changed since 2000.. I've read that and heard that also from Arizonans.
  19. Cool. I love science & technology. Too bad we can't create black holes here and make Texas disappear.
  20. Perhaps because there is less historical image with Saturn than Pontiac... easier to mold a new image.
  21. I love dogs... esp. terriers, little, pointy, tough dogs that think they are 100 lbs when they are 10 lbs. I do like cats also, esp. Siamese and Bengals. My sister used to have Siamese and I really liked them, great personalities and not as aloof as other breeds, I think. I've taken care of friends' Bengals before, great personalities also.
  22. electric toilet (Incinotoilet)
  23. I've learned over the years it's pointless to try and argue with conservatives..they believe their delusions so deeply, it's impossible for them have a rational discussion. It's impossible. All that religion and the smell of gun powder has warped their minds, I'm afraid..
  24. No..the old white corrupt rich men that run corporations.... feed them, and supposedly the sparrows (the general public) might get a bit of nourishment off the turds..
