All this talk of cream filling and stuff got me hungry, so we went over to DQ and got some Banana Cream Pie Blizzards..very tasty. Saw a couple off-beat cars also---a red/silver Eagle Vision Tsi and and a red w/ white top '70s Jeepster. It's a nice cool (89 degrees) breezy evening here in the Valley of the Sun.

Mmm...I don't have them often..they are one of my sister's weaknesses..she can eat a whole box in one evening..avoids them now. For tasty snaky cakes, I used to love Ho-Hos..haven't had one in years. For cream-filled pastries, I love cream-filled donuts occasionally, or profiteroles with chocolate sauce on top... I want to try some Beard Papa's cream puffs next time I'm in Cali...a friend said they are great..Beard Papa's

I can't imagine down the road that anyone would want to fix up or restore something as mundane as a W-body.

Maybe 2 people... I've met couples were there the spouses were politically quite the opposite from each other...strange, though.

I think a lot of the kiddies on here weren't born yet when the previous fuel crisis happened.

Yes, fall..the temps are down to a high of 100 and a balmy 80 at night.. it will be great here Oct-March, though. Then I can use my espresso machine, cappucino machine, and coffee maker again.

Another sighting today was a Crown Vic in the city parking garage with 'Hydrogen powered' logos on the doors.. I'll have to stop and look at it closer next week... something in fleet use by one of the city departments.

I haven't had Kool-Aid since high school...when I was a kid, my favorite was the green..I called it 'green stuff'. The last 5 months, my addiction has been the little cans of Starbucks Doubleshots. I've been drinking two of those every morning instead of brewing coffee... hard to drink hot coffee in an AZ summer.

Saw two vintage Cadillac 2dr hts, no vinyl tops (Calais?)...a sharp black '69-70 and a lowered, primered '71-72...so big..they really stand out amidst the usual traffic of Priuses, Camrys, SUVs, and other generica...

Yes...old school is still cool, IMHO. If I had to pick one car to drive coast-to-coast, it would be a Town Car w/ the THX sound and all the goodies... I've rented and driven them all over So Cal, E. Ohio, W. Pa, and S. Florida...

They look awfully small and insubstantial to me--like a modern Geo Metro. The Mini looks much more substantial. The Mini is about the only US market B-segment car I like....looking forward to seeing the Fiesta, though.

Yes... it's amazing how short-sighted the domestics have been about diesels...hell, my diesel Escort from '84 got over 50 on the highway. Why hasn't Ford had a diesel Focus here the last 8 years? Oh, they've been too busy building 3 ton Super Duty diesels...

I think I'd ride the bus before I would drive a tiny sh*tbox. We need diesels here and now. The Aveo/G3's mileage is pathetic for such a tiny car.

Since I work downtown right by city government, county government, and state government offices, I see a variety of official vehicles..saw several city Fire Department cars today--ranging from a '90s Lumina to current Impalas and an Intrepid w/ chrome wheels, all bright red. The city vehicles range from Impalas, Crown Vics, Colorados, Silverados, F150s, to a fleet of Priuses (!). On the street beside City Hall, there is a '95-97 Crown Vic police car that seems to be in the same spot everyday..odd to see such an old car still in service.

Also saw a sharp red '80s BMW 635Csi and a white current style M6, with huge (22 inch or so) chrome blingtard wheels.

Yes, I always liked the green colors the Orvis ones were in... ironically, I have a few Orvis shirts. Another model I've always liked is the '03 or so Overlands..had neat 2 tone seats. I thought about trading mine on an Overland a few years ago.

Aggh...speaking of the Disney pop tarts, I was channel surfing and caught a video by Demi Lovato..she's a cutie..I actually met her older sister Dallas a few years ago at a restaurant in LA. (I had never heard of Demi then).

Same reasons...unpredictable weather and mountains... same with Subarus...they got their initial popularity in New England and the Rocky Mountain West...

I read an article a while back in Playback or one of the other on-line home theatre mags... the writer was speculating a lot of the overcompression is related to the rise of MP3s and people getting used to the sound of them. I'm a bit of an audiophile, but by no means an expert, but I have definitely noticed differences in playing MP3s of a track through my home theatre system vs. playing CDs of the same track vs. playing a record (45) of the same track..

Yep..one year only..I've seen a few of them in Colorado...GCs, and Jeeps in general have long been very popular in Colorado...I think I read somewhere Colorado has the highest registration percentage of SUVs (and Jeeps) in the country.

I remember hearing a couple weeks ago when the one out here closed..it was odd, it was all out by itself, not on Scottsdale's auto row...
