  1. It's the engine that threw me..I'm used to riding mowers having Briggs and Stratton or Techumsehs...but my folks only bought Snappers, so that's what I knew at one time. Figuring '68, it's probably 40-50 years old at least. I did discover that the Poulan (part of Husquavarna) and Craftsman have used Kohler engines, but that is in more recent years.
  2. Obama vs. McCain Matching Scores 1. Barack Obama 94.90% match on issues. 2. John McCain 66.44% match on issues.
  3. Cool.. I have that blue 1:43 Dinky '62 Cadillac sitting in a bookcase in my living room.
  4. Wild... the steering wheel in the second car looks like a Chevy wheel.
  5. +1. Sadly, I know 2 Ohio residents that are going to vote Republican--my Mom and brother (I don't talk politics with them at all--makes me too angry).
  6. Yes..frustrating...every time I've been across the pond and ridden the rails in Europe it makes me angry how limited our rail infrastructure is. Arggh
  7. A Momentary Lapse of Reason, The Division Bell, The Wall, Wish You Were Here, and Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd are on rotation in the CD changer this afternoon....playing through 2000 watts of glorious 5.1 surround sound...happy happy joy joy
  8. My sister turned in some that were down the street from her a couple of years ago...a neighbor had rented out a house to a bunch of filthy Mexicans who made a mess of the place..working on broken down Chebbies in the driveway, loud Mexican music at 2am, let the yard go to pot, etc. Their presence hurt the neighborhood--it's a nice Phoenix neighborhood of clean older $200-300k houses with palm trees and green yards, not the shabby barrio dumps found in other parts of town where the illegals run rampant. Eventually they got evicted (through the efforts of many people), and the house was sold and remodeled..I talked to the guy that remodeled it, he had to strip the interior to the studs--ripped out the sheetrock, everything because the cretins had made such a mess...
  9. Yes...I'm sickened when I think about the billions we have wasted on that pathetic sh*thole when we could have been investing the money in the US...
  10. I first saw that movie when I was 7 or so...loved it..have seen it probably 20 times over the years.. Driving on two lane roads in CO, when I had a tanker behind me I always got nervous...esp. driving on a twisty switchback w/ no guardrails and 500-1000 ft drop offs like Loveland Pass, about 12k feet at the peak.. I kind of liked the movie 'Joy Ride' a few years ago, it definitely had a few elements reminiscent of Duel.
  11. Bingo..
  12. I'm not much of a hip hop fan, I find KW to be annoying like P Diddy...a lot of hype, a lot of flash, no substance, IMHO. About the only hip hop I've liked over the years was some Ice Cube, NWA, Snoop Dog, Eminem, Public Enemy... I like R&B and soul much more than hip-hop.
  13. Yes, I guess it was strictly measured in # of weeks on the charts, not quality or influence.
  14. Yes, different market, different reality...people forget the Prius is not just about the mileage..it's about the cleanliness--the Prius is classified as a SULEV.. Though if I were looking for something small and efficient myself, I'd go for a Jetta diesel. When are the big 3 going to offer a compact diesel in NA? (or any car with a diesel--a Camaro TDI would be hellacool). I like diesels...I'd probably buy one over a hybrid..
  15. Based on MY 2009 cars, I see the Sable, Avalon, and Azera being the main competitors for the new LaCrosse.... the new Maxima is too sporty and the TL too sporty and too expensive.
  16. I've got to ask...what is the source for the interesting pic in your sig?

    w000t!

I suppose it's not a big deal in a one plate state, but I wonder about in two-plate states. I had a colleague at my last job who was from the UK (Bristol) originally, he brought the number plates from his Fiesta back home with him and has the front one on the front of his 3-series here in AZ (one-plate state). In Colorado, I used to see a Riley Elf all the time that still had the UK number plates front and rear, with the Colorado plates over them.

  19. At a previous job, I used 'strategery' in a meeting once...I said something to the effect that 'we need to forge our forward strategery to leverage the syergies that emerge through utilization of the core competencies of the resources on the team'. I had everyone howling in the room....

Yeah, good thing it's a tile floor and a 20 lb Westy, not a huge dog..

Hmmm....the times it's always taken longer is when I have to take a leak in cup for the drug tests... for the last one, I drank a whole bottle of water right before going in. Speaking of taking a leak stories... I was in the bathroom a week or so ago standing up, taking care of business, left the door open (home alone) and one of the dogs wandered in, looked at me, then lifted his leg and whizzed on the floor...

  23. Yes...similar platform...Malibu is Epsilon, LaCrosse is Epsilon II, but it's a little bigger, but the same FWD layout and probably much the same as far as the dirty bits.
  24. Yes..the 'stripped down' entry level Caddy of it's day.
  25. Yep..no Detroit plants, and an M-B plant there (and also Hyundai?).
