  1. The diesel would be cool...a hybrid powerplant would be really cool. For outrageous, I'm still waiting on Ford to build an lifted, AWD turbodiesel Mustang...(I'd love a Mustang with the Audi Allroad style, kind of a modern Eagle SX/4).
  2. I like it...I've long liked Alfa's grille, it's distinctive, has character, esp. today when everything has a trapazoidal grille...I also like how they put the number plate off to the side, rather in the center which is so boring and predictable today. I esp. like the current Brera and 166 styling...
  3. It will be interesting to see what the full year sales for the GMT 900s will be next year compared to 2007. Down by 50%?
  4. Looks great...looks like it's been taken care of.
  5. Lots of forgettable cars then...my first car was an '84 Escort diesel, which was very reliable in the time I drove it in HS and college, and my first new car was an '87 Mustang GT....still have it, still a fun car to drive. The 5.0 Mustangs are probably my favorite and most memorable car of that decade, because I've enjoyed them so much--simple, fun and fast. I also still like the big cars of that decade---I enjoyed driving the Town Cars of the '80s that my Dad drove then. Most of the FWDers of that decade, though, like the '90s, are best forgotten, IMHO.
  6. Having been a teenager in the '80s, I'll always like certain models from that era...not K-cars, but the Fox Mustangs I drove then. For GMs of the '80s, I like the F-, G-, B-, RWD C-bodies and '80-85 E-bodies...
  7. CNTRL+T adds a new tab also. I use Firefox pretty much 100% these days. At work, I use a Mac, but have a VM running XP since I need to use IE to access Mercury Quality Center (uses an Active X plugin), and I need to verify my code runs in IE as well as FF (it's funny---my development team all use Macs with Firefox to develop our web apps, but our corporate clients all use Windows with IE). I've run into a few sites that have seem to have issues when you scroll and need repainting in Firefox...and Wachovia's site behaves very wierd--I enter my userid and password and it just keeps reloading (a Javascript issue, I think Foxmarks is great for synching my bookmarks between the Mac and my home XP laptop.
  8. Agreed also..I've used Sharebuilder for about 8 years now, I have a nice portfolio of about 25 stocks and indicies with #of shares ranging from less than 1 to over a 100..
  9. The styling's a bit dull...I much prefer the Bentley Continental GT...
  10. I can't recall the last time I saw a K-car in any condition..pretty scarce around here.
  11. Yeah...it's the traffic that kills the fun of a stick... esp. the darn stop and go freeway congestion and stop and go city traffic..I love a manual, but am content with an automatic in my Jeep..
  12. Yes, unfortunately. My '80s diesel experience was a good one overall, though my Escort's engine was by Mazda.
  13. Yeah..I'm always amazed by what is available in diesels in the UK....like a BMW 3-series convertible diesel. Or a Merc CLK diesel hardtop. I'd love to see GM make some bold moves and offer a diesel Camaro or US-market diesel CTS..
  14. Yes...leave automatics to the mainstreamers... I'd buy a diesel w/ a manual again.
  15. It's quite good...I've been using it for a few weeks now (downloaded one of the release candidates in late May), on both Leopard and Win XP Pro...very stable, seems to be less of a resource hog that 2.x was.
  16. I wonder if there are any clubs devoted to '80s GM X/A/J/N/L FWDers...
  17. It's amazing how many bad drivers there are out there... I see a lot of them here. Phoenix is scary at times...my biggest irritant are all the stupid intersections of 2 four/six lane streets with left turn lanes but no left turn arrows... lots of people running the lights or turning left stupidly. Not to mention thousands of look-alike strip malls, 4 at each intersection with the entrances and exits 20 feet from the intersections...
  18. It's too bad the Civic hatches aren't sold in NA...they look 1000% better than the dull sedan version, IMHO.
  19. Back in the first dot.bomb era, when I was a crazy 20-something and felt invincible, I drank Shock Coffee, Jolt cola, Vodka and Scotch in the evening, all the while on Prozac (later Zoloft). Fun times. I'm old and mellow now, can't be that intense any more.
  20. I'm up by 5:30, and wouldn't make it until noon without some caffeine. I usually have a cold Starbucks doubleshot or caffinated Mocha drink, then head to the office, where I have 2-3 cups of coffee before 9:30. That keeps me going the rest of the day...sometimes I have a coke at lunch.. Over the last year at my last gig, I had a tradition of a Red Bull and a candy bar in the afternoon most days... staying conscious at that job was difficult (painfully dull, slow pace to the projects.. but I had a great bill rate so I stuck it out for 9 months). I now usually a cup of tea around 3. A couple of guys in my office drink the Monster energy drinks quite a bit, I tried one, didn't care for the taste.
  21. There are probably people that think Europe is a country.
  22. I'm sure we will see 10000 pointless rants from SixtyEight...ugh.
  23. It's kind of cool..would make a nice Lexus minivan here....who knows, maybe the luxury minivan market will take off here in the post-SUV era..
  24. They got screwed out of their jobs by the union bastards...
