  1. I like coupes, but prefer the practicality of 4drs for carrying people, and for getting in and out in tight parking spaces....getting out of a long doored coupe is a PITA in narrow parking garage spaces (I'm always parking in garages, so this is a common use case for me). Not to mention 4drs have better side impact protection. I'll probably always have a 4dr something for a daily driver and coupes or convertibles for my fun cars...currently, I have 1 4dr SUV, 1 BMW coupe, 2 vintage Mustang coupes..probably will change by 2010 to a 4dr sports sedan (quite possibly a CTS) daily driver, SUV for winter, and maybe a convertible replacing the BMW.. hopefully all in one place, though...my current arrangement (the Jeep and BMW here in Denver, the Mustangs 1300 miles away) is awkward at best.
  2. Wow...Hyundai and Kia are both in the top 10 in sales..never would have thought that. Probably are regional variations..I see a lot of more Subuarus (mostly wagons) around here than Hyundai or Kia products.
  3. I did 4 years of Spanish (2 hs, 2 college). But it doesn't really help much.. though it would be useful, since the US is moving towards billingualism. I want to learn French...I've thought about the Rosetta Stone program or taking a class in the evenings.
  4. I get the feeling Hyundai/Kia will be considered part of an Asian 'Big 4' pretty soon, along with the current 'Big 3' (Toyota, Honda, Nissan)..they have made pretty rapid improvements in design and quality. This brings up the question, who is currently #4 in the US in sales as far as Asian car makers? Subaru?
  5. translated--Those words are not to be mentioned
  6. I think he is a sadist..he get joy from the suffering of others.
  7. You can weld the rear doors shut or bondo them shut..
  8. !Invalid. The Mark VIII's FN-10 platform was based on the '89 MN-12 Thunderbird/Cougar platform. It's predecessor, the Mark VII, however, was based on the Fox platform which dated to '78.
  9. Sorry...I'm in a loopy mood tonight.....the insane idea behind the Prius came from a Chrysler 300M I saw a while back that had a '69 Mach 1 hood scoop and Type R Hemi badges..
  10. The '80s were fun...Grand Nats, Trans Am GTAs, IROC-Zs, 5.0 Mustangs....I got my Mustang GT in '87...my high school parking lot was full of these cars (only one GN, but plenty of the others...at least a 1/2 dozen IROCs, 1/2 dozen GTAs, a dozen LX 5.0s and GTs, etc) ..fun times.
  11. Mee too..I love the gray. I'd add a '70 R/T style rear spoiler... The '70 Challenger and Cuda, along with the 70 Mustang, are my favorite designs of my birth year..I love how the new car captures that look so well.
  12. I'm sure PCS is plotting to prevent that (hmm, cargo ship sinking?)
  13. True...I know plenty of people that drive Impalas, Grand Prixs, and other other Avis rides during the work week and drive Camrys and Accords when they go home..
  14. A Prius. Painted bright orange. With white stripes, Type-R, Z-28 and 454 badges. Big rear wing. Yellow wipers. Chrome '68 Camaro SS hood louvers on the hood. With chrome spinner hubcaps. Sparco seats. That would be badass. A mix-and-match of tuner and muscle car styling cues.
  15. Well, it hasn't been done this way in the US (3 bucket seats in the front, with the middle set back slightly from the other two). It is a clever design.
  16. One positive about having a lot of GM rental cars, though..rental cars are the only way many people have an opportunity to drive new GMs..
  17. That's pretty cool..bet it would sting to shot with it..
  18. Funny you mention high school doodlings...last time I went back to Ohio to visit my mom, I found a stash of my 'future car' sketches from 20+ years ago that I did in jr. high and high school...my future cars then all kind of looked like GM dustbuster minivans or Priuses (I really was into drawing monospaces). I guess I was inspired by the Chevy concept car at Epcot Center I saw in '82.
  19. Sounds like fun. I'll be at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale on the 19th.
  20. You have to excuse/ignore 68..he was born about 30 years too late...a 'real'car to him is from 1959 (RWD, BOF, V8, AM radio, etc).
  21. It's a great looking, new, RWD V8 model...what's not to like in this world of generic FWD appliances???
  22. i think they are just full of sh*t...haters..
  23. I don't think they've announced pricing except for the SRT8...base will probably similar to Charger base, I would think (under 30k?)
  24. Have you sat in the production interior? I haven't seen any pics of the production interior..
  25. I doubt if this will ever make it here..PCS and his evil minions will prevent it.
