What I really want to see is the Omega chassis used on the next CTS(5?). There would be more meat in that market. It could end up 600lbs lighter than an E-Class.

I think the point was that FCA is already paying CAFE fines and that the Demon only pulls down FCA's CAFE average further... though not by much because it is such a miniscule number of cars.- 38 replies

I'll stick up for the 200. As a car, it is perfectly fine. It was marketed poorly by Chrysler. It should have never been a $22k base CamCord competitor. It should have taken on a more premium niche role like a Regal with a 2.0T as the base motor. In V6 C or S trims, they are a very nice place to be. This goes back to the giant mistake that Serg is making... trying to have both Dodge and Chrysler as "family" brands while Alfa and Maserati take on the premium role. Dodge needed a full lineup of small / medium / large sedans and Chrysler needs to be the premium brand that straddles Buick and Lincoln like it once was.

No, they don't all self park. It's an option on cars already $10k higher in price than the Cadillac. On the S class, it's part of a $4,500 option package. What you're trying to do is discount the fact that the CT6 Platinum is more manageable to drive.

Optional - Minimum price, $100k. The CT6 does have self-park and can do it perpendicularly. The 2010 MKS had self-park, so ease off that high horse there mister.

Given the average age demographic of the 7-series and S-class buyer, the handling aspect of the CT6 may be a benefit in an often overlooked category. The ability to park these larger cars is a common concern of that age group and 4-wheel steering makes parking the CT6 a breeze. You can maneuver the CT6 around the Piggly Wiggly parking lot as if it were a CTS while still having your fullsize comfort. Turning radii: CT6 - 18.5 Feet (only with 4-wheel steering) 20 feet without. 7-series - 21 feet S-Class - 20 feet A8 - 20.85 feet

I mean Subaru or GM or Toyota buying into it and making their cars be interchangeable. Edit: And one of the biggest issues I see with the setup @dfelt posted is that when you come to a stop or a very slow parking lot speeds, you potentially do not have enough RPM to maintain vacuum (brakes), power steering, or A/C. All of those accessories should be electronically driven independent of the drivetrain, not run on an old fashioned belt system. Keeping belt drive accessories in an EV is like if Henry Ford came out with the Model-T, but the only way to accelerate the car was to repeatedly whip the hood ornament with a buggy whip to make it go.

I mean... their powertrain setup is particularly good for EVs. Yank the H engine, put half the Tesla watermelon in there attached to the CVT, fill the area previously used by the gas tank and part of the engine bay with laptop batteries. The first auto manufacturer that comes up with an electric motor setup that can plug-in in place of a gas engine and just run everything else through the standard powertrain could make a big splash in the EV realm. I know that running an electric motor through a transmission isn't the most efficient way to do things, but it may provide an avenue for the least amount of R&D needed.

Even without Carplay, our Buick with Intelilink got really cranky to use and it turned out to be the USB cord.

I have a few pair. They aren't very good.

What if I just prefer we wear gloves in the winter? My Buick has a heated steering wheel and I can still wear gloves and use the HVAC controls. Touch screen is fine when you want to have some uncommonly used setting, but heat up or down should be easy to reach and use.
