    I agree with you on the brand equity thing.... but Nissan did spend the money to buy Mitsu... so they should give Mitsu a purpose in life, which it doesn't have right now.

    Back to Mitsubishi specifically - If they get a version of the Frontier also... that would make 3 versions of the same truck running around? Frontier, X-Class, and I guess we'll call it Raider(?) for now. If Nissan were smart.... they would bring back something that Mitsubishi was known for... offering AWD in many of their models. They need an AWD Galant, an AWD Eclipse, an AWD Diamante, plus all of the crossovers currently required to compete in today's market. They need to be Nissan's direct answer to Subaru, car for car.

    Tesla has higher market cap only because of speculators betting on its future value.... not what the company is generating in revenue or even it's total assets minus total debts. I like Tesla, I like their cars, and I like electric cars... but market cap is not an accurate measure of a company's worth when so much of it involves speculation. For example... if we went by your standards of using market cap, United Airlines lost $750 million in worth just for having security beat up an old Doctor.... but Assets minus Debts did not change, sales don't appear to have been affected, and the stock has now bounced back and heading close to a 52 week high. Market Cap as a measure of a company's worth is as useless as tenths of a second in 0-60 times determining which car is better.

    The Trax/Encore specifically have an unusually good amount of front driver room for such small vehicles.

    I've driven the RWD 8-speed in just about every vehicle it is available in except the mid-size trucks of which I expect to experience in 2 weeks. Some of them on the track (non-competition) and some of them just in normal street driving. It does have different modes, one of which is granny mode, but I've never experienced what you've made claim to when setting up the car appropriately and driving it hard.

    No, he wasn't marketing. He was the guy responsible for handling us media types in the mid-west. Being based in Pittsburgh, I'm right on the dividing line, so I deal with both mid-west and east coast PR reps. He is a good guy though and really put his heart into trying to do his best for Ford. I know from personal discussions (as I said, we're at a friendship level as well) that he was very frustrated with the Ford corporate bureaucracy.

    I could totally go for a grannymobile Town Car. They have drop in head units with full NAV, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto available... that's all I'd need.

    Why would Dodge be needed for Alfa? Alfa can share platforms with Maserati and a growing Fiat and possibly a rebirthed Lancia. Fiat can replace Dodge in the "family car" segment Lancia can replace Chrysler in the "premium family car (aka Buick) segment". Lancia Pacifica anyone? Alfa is to be the BMW/Benz/Cadillac fighter. Jeep and Ram are spun off to pay for all of this. Serg has no love for the American brands.... his vision is to restore the greatness(??) of the Italian Automotive industry.

    Serg doesn't value any of the American brands beyond what money he can suck out of them to revive his failing Fiat and attempt to rebirth Alfa. He is raiding the American companies to pay for his pet projects.

    I could totally go for a Fusion Sport for that price. Actually, my Ford PR contact just left and went to Nissan about 2 weeks ago. We're friends on Facebook.

    If anyone needed proof of Serg's long-term desire to kill off Chrysler and Dodge, this should be the final piece to that puzzle.

    Oh Jeep..... their AWD systems are so great in number they have a webpage just to explain what each one does. The Grand Cherokee has four different AWD systems available. I'm just going to link the website so you can read them for yourself. The Quadra-Drive II with rear ELSD is the most capable. Quadra-Trac I is the least capable and most like the standard AWD systems in the Acadia. I would put bets on the Grand Cherokee with Quadra-Drive II and ELSD being the most capable off-road vehicle in this class with the only possible competition coming from certain off-road equipped Toyota 4-Runners.
