  1. I"m guessing this will be somewhere between Lexus LS and Phaeton. Hyundai won't kill it because they're persistent, but it won't reach LS level of sales over the long term.
  2. may seem like a silly question.... how do they get the cam inside the other cam?
  3. I've recently discovered a few downtown charging stations in Pittsburgh. If I wasn't shopping for a truck and I was planning at staying in my current position longer, a Volt would make great sense for me. I spied it when spotting a LEAF in an odd parking spot in my normal garage downtown.
  4. But doesn't DOHC allow for more options with VVT and VVL?
  5. I wonder if they will try and make it LR based or if it will be a modification of a Jaguar platform. edit: DOh! reading is fundamental!
  6. We had torque back then...
  7. Hopefully they are spending money on the interior also...the current, dated Colorado looks like they budgeted about $10 for the interior--cheap and nasty inside. I agree that the current interior is a bit cheap, but then my 72yr old father has one and loves it and thinks it is perfect so it could also be a bit of perspective. The younger groups just have higher expectations and yet with that said, if they are not willing to accept less features / base level auto's will never be in the reach of someone just starting out. Not every auto needs to have a cadillac interior. In my truck shopping, I quickly eliminated the Colorado/Canyon twins, but the S-10/Sonoma stayed on the list. The two reasons for nixing the Colorado were the interior (the S-10 is nicer) and serviceability, the Colorado has big issues with brakes and related maintenance.
  8. A rather dreary looking interior, but I guess probably decent for the class.
  9. Instant collector's item.
  10. Maybe you can grab some pictures for us? Real pictures always look better than the pics GM puts out. and BTW, welcome back to C&G
  11. By the looks of that engine shroud, it's getting the 4.3 V6. You can tell by the location of the oil fill.
  12. They were moving 30,000 Avalanches per year there for a while, not too bad considering it is really just a body style option of the Suburban.
  13. My Question for Chrysler would be this: What is your Family car brand and does it make sense to separate that from your family SUVs/CUVs and Mini-vans?
  14. The new 4.3 Ecotec isn't physically bigger on the outside than the 3.6... there's no reason it couldn't fit in anything that already has the 3.6
  15. It's interesting that back then, even the street lamps had style.
  16. The Sprinters seem to rust a lot faster than their American counterparts.
  17. The last Impala SS was a laugh-out-loud joke. I dunno. An FE3 suspension, most powerful FWD car you could buy, a top speed of 150mph, and a 5.7s 0-60 time seem pretty super to me for a Chevy.
  18. Strange. Waiting for the next iteration of the Odyssey platform maybe?
  19. Maybe they're going to go the Buick route of trying to make an SUV that is very curvy to contrast the very square and blocky Range Rovers.
  20. The S250 Bluetec gets 40mpg? Big deal! A Cutlass V6 diesel with OD could do that in 1984.
  21. You can't fit a 7.0L DOHC engine where you can fit a 7.0 Pushrod. Any place you can fit a 7.0 liter DOHC, you can fit a 9, 10, or 11 liter pushrod. Power per liter is a red herring.
  22. What does high strength steel have to do with it. If anything, that would make it easier for manufacturers to make even safer convertibles.
  23. The only questionable SS that I can think of was the last Malibu SS, all the rest deserved their badge.
  24. I doubt most will notice. There isn't a tremendous amount of difference between a Jetta and a Jetta GLI in daily driving.
  25. The Hawks were ugggly. I prefer when they were called Champion.
