All right boys and girls. I know that we all know that GM has built several successful families of engines. So lets see if we can name the complete family of engines both small block and big block. While you're at it, if you can, give me years of service, chronologically (sp?) preferred. Also if there are multiple generations, then go ahead and toss them in too.

Yeah, that's pretty well what I read. THe plant started production in 27, produced trucks up to '86, the last vehicle to roll down the line was a 90 Caprice....after that the plant was shut down and dismantled.

Chris, you're more or less right. The question about the pink vette, it actually resides in the National Corvette Museum. Zora Duntov's personal 1974 Corvette was powered by a 454. 2000 was the first year that Corvette went to Germany. And finally, for the 1953 model year Corvettes were hand built in Flint, MI. Production was then moved to St. Louis until June 1, 1981 when full production ramped up at Bowling Green.

I should be able to get you an answer tomorrow when I'm at work.

Hey dodge, I hate to say it, but the 3.2 and the 2.7 are the same family of engines, they're both essentially "throw away" engines as they are EXTREMELY labor intensive whenever you have to do anything to them. A timing set (timing chains, gears, and tensioners) SHOP COST is about $650, that's not walk-in customer cost, that's how much it costs a shop to buy the part. If I were you, I'd invest in a 3.5 since it is a different engine family and you run no risk of the problems of the 3.2 and 2.7. By the way, I don't know of many people that can drive on a "going out" main bearing for years... If I were you, I'd go and find a junkyard engine for relatively low mileage and do the proper swapping and call it a day.

I've got a few questions about Corvettes just for giggles. How many 1983 Corvettes were built (I know none for the public, but there were some built)? How many 1983 Corvettes are known to survive and where are they? How many 1962 (I think) Corvettes were painted in Cadillac Amherst Pink (I may have the color off, but its a metallic pink Cadillac color)? How many are known to survive and their known locations? What engine powered Zora Arkus Duntov's personal Corvette What year did Corvette first go to test in Germany? What are/were the assembly plants for Corvette's throughout the years? What year did Chevrolet build the 1,000,000th Corvette? Where is that 1,000,000th Corvette currently located?

I'm still wondering about the life of the Georgia plant that built my '76.... Anyone know how I could research that one?
-
Yeah, either someone wanted to really rape your parents, or their credit score wasn't as great as it needed to be.

I don't really know what to say about this one, from what I've seen with VW, its been a crapshoot when it comes to the quality, and in most cases, they are a little boring when it comes to their design and style. Otherwise, I've heard some good things, but I've also heard an assload of bad things too. Maybe it would be a good idea for them to get out of the market for a while and reinvent themselves (like said above, differentiate themselves more from Audi).

Yeah, I'm fairly certain that the Lakewood, GA plant was torn down between '76 when my truck was built and 1981, but I can't be sure of that one.

All right guys, I've got a bit of a different take on the trivia deal we have here. Where were your vehicles built? Is the plant your vehicle was built at still in production? If not, what was the last vehicle the plant produced? I know that this one might not be the easiest, but considering what most of all of us know about our own rides, this could prove interesting. '76 Chevrolet C-10: Lakewood, GA (unfortunately, I don't know the fate of this plant) '01 Chevrolet Impala: Oshawa, Ontario '05 Chevy Cobalt: (Honestly, I don't remember where the 'balt was assembled, but I do know the plant is still producing) All right y'all, lets see how much you know about your own assembly points, or maybe youse guys can help me with mine... Rest of the vehicles in my "fleet": 2003 Olds Alero 1997 Jeep Wrangler 1992 Chevy C1500 1989 Chevy S10 Blazer 2003 Chevy S10 crew cab 1931 Ford Model A 1966 International LoadStar 1600

It would be, and it would be fairly large, so if its a little sensor plugged into the tubing, then you've got the Intake Air Temp sensor, which just tells the ECM how hot or cold the air coming into the engine is.
-
Exactly, if you pop the hood at night with the engine running, and it looks like you've got christmas tree lights twinkling under the hood you've got a problem with the plug wires.

Actually, that was IronHide in the pool. And I'm sorry, my favorite characters were BumbleBee and IronHide. I really like IronHide a little more, he kinda fits my personality as the "oil and trusted warrior (and well, he's a kick ass TopKick!)"......

well guys, I'd have to say that the Decepticons that were dumped into the ocean weren't dead, they were simply in a "stasis lock" because of the extreme amount of damage done to their exteriors. Probably once their self-repair systems make necessary repairs, they'll go active again. We know that StarScream, Scorpinok, and Barricade all survive, and Frenzy could have survive, since we already know he can make it around without his head and body being attached. The second one is great, and the reason that Jazz died is because he had to be the proverbial "black guy" of the movie....

5/8 spark plug socket to remove the plugs. Another thing, if you want to see if it is a skip, swap the coils around, if the skip moves to another cylinder, then you know that it is a coil.

Actually, it sounds like the blend door actuator is stuck in the "heat" position and is only allowing air to pass by the heater core and then go to the driver's side of the vehicle. You can replace the actuator, but it WILL normally require tearing the entire dash apart.
-
Well, with the mileage, its going to burn some oil, that's problem is going to be related to the Valve Stem Seals, and as far as the oil pressure, no, I wouldn't rush out to fix it.
-
Yeah, the Mass Air Flow Sensor is an easy replacement, remove the hose clamps on both sides, unplug the sensor, remove, then reverse process.
-
Sounds like the relief valve is plugged up, I wouldn't worry that much, as long as you're not blowing oil out of the engine, you're normally fine.

Wheezing Noise During Low Speed Turning

Well consider that the pump is electric, it couldn't be the belt, but it COULD be the pump itself. While you're at it, check the fluid level. -
I saw it last night. Awesome movie, I wouldn't say Oscar winning myself, but it was a good ride. Being a fan of the orignal series, it was great to see the characters in live action, although I think I would have gone with a slightly different voice character for Bumblebee, he sounded a little too British, but it was still pretty cool. Especially to hear Peter Cullen doing the voice of Optimus Prime. Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith from The Matrix) does a VERY good job as Megatron, although it would have been more fun to have heard Frank Welker doing the voice, but he is doing the video game. The other voice actors were great, they really brought out the feelings of the characters. All I have to say about the movie is, go see it, you'll enjoy it, I promise.
