  1. Most GM TBI fuel pumps run about 35psi, and the injectors run off a signal from the ECM, through the pickup coil in the distributor. I know a friend of mine has an 86 Monte Carlo that wouldn't fire, originally the fuel pump was replaced, then the distributor, then the ECM when all it was was a bad ground signal from the ECM to the TBI injectors.
  2. No, but a another little screaming, squealing, poopin' bundle did come on Sunday, January 7th, at 10:07am. Its official, I'm a dad!! She weighed 8lbs, 10oz, and was 20-1/2 inches long with a head full of black hair. We just got home today, and so far things are going great. I've changed two diapers so far and being a dad is a wonderful thing. Lookin' into those blue-gray eyes just makes me feel all proud and happy. Mom is doing just fine, her blood pressure came down just like it was supposed to. Other than that, no more updates with the exception of pictures, which will be coming soon. Again, thanks everyone for your support.

  4. Lets see, I've got Mario 1,2,3, Duck Hunt, Flight of the Intruder (hell of a lot easier than Top Gun), Contra, Paperboy, and one other game, although I can't remember the name. I got a Nintendo when I turned 5, which would be 1988, so I guess part of me was late too because shortly thereafter I got a Sega Genesis and got the Road Rash series of games. I still play both of the systems, along wiht the N64. My brother-in-law has ever game system so far with the exception of the Comodore 64. All of them still work and just for giggles, we'll still get around to playing them all. Right now though, he's got a Wii and quite happy with it.
  5. Sig makes a wonderful handgun, I know some guys that are carrying Sig P226s around as their standard issue Berreta replacement and they can't complain at all about them. A IMI Desert Eagle is really overkill, and besides, if you think about it, a .50 cal Magnum Action Express DE runs you about 1.25-1.80 a shell, that gets pretty expensive on the ammunitiont side of the coin. Really a DE is used to scare the holy $h! outta someone, kinda like a long-barrel S&W Model 429 .44 Magnum. I'd really have to go the route of H&K, Sig, Springfield or Kimber, but if you're looking for something a little less, you can always go S&W (know more people with S&Ws and Springfields than I do the other three combined), and they're reliable, cost effective, and pretty doggone good shooting weapons.
  6. well another update, its late, I'm sleepy, won't be long simply cause there isn't much to say. Right now, they've started the two drugs that are used to induce labor on Amy, so hopefully things will start to progress from there. Thanks again for all the support, its really appreciated. I'm getting a little nervous about the whole thing, but I probably won't be once I see that little screaming, squealing, poopin' bundle of joy finally get here.
  7. An update: Amy's still in the hospital, her blood pressure is a little high. Right now she's got preclampsia (sp?), which means that her blood pressure is causing the blood vessels (namely the placenta and umbilical cord) to tighten up, which could cut oxygen, food, and blood flow to the baby. She's on strict bed rest and being monitored at the hospital. Also, she's starting to dialate a little, so we're going to see where she is by this evening, and if she's ready, we're going to go ahead and let things go about their normal course, if not, they'll induce labor (the other alternative is her sitting in the hospital and the condition getting worse). So, I guess needless to say within the next day, I'll be a dad. I'll make sure that as soon as possible, I'll get pictures of our little Heather up. But, thanks everyone for being supportive.
  8. None taken, just don't like seeing such negative reactions sometimes. Besides, my nerves are a little on edge right now (baby hatching time!)
  9. Rut roh raggy!
  10. Oy, guess I should have never posted those.....No, its not a christmas toy, I've had it for about two years now. I do hunt, which is the reason I have a rifle, and a pistol, and a shotgun. I also do a fair amount of target shooting. Surpised no one commented on the pregnant wife picutures, oh well, again, I apologize for my posting of those pictures, and now moving on....
  11. The M16A3 (or A4) combat rifle is a good weapon, just keep it clean and it'll provide you with a long time of service. I'm working on getting my weight down and I'm going to join the Army as a 63-Bravo (light-wheeled vehicle mechanic), after that I'll probably make it a living, I've always wanted to join the military, just have had to get my weight down to "normal" standards, which I'm working on right now, its a slow go, but its always easier to add than it is to subtract.
  12. I don't mind the engine technology, although I don't get the removal of an accelerator cable, that one kinda befuddles me, but I do mind all the other stuff, stability controls, tire monitoring systems, abs, navigation, idrive, whatever. How about just teach people how to DRIVE the damn things and stop trying to rely on technology to save your bacon. I enjoy driving my Impala, which has TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system), ABS, and on-star, but do I really need all of them? No, I learned how to drive a 76 Chevy pickup, a big huge brick without any options other than 3/4-ton truck rear springs. The engine technology makes a lot of sense, just like having DI on an engine, which allows pretty substantial power increases, although it does it by running an extremely, extremely (i'd call it dangerously) lean mixture to attain those power and efficiency numbers. I guess you could say that I understand the engine tech more than the other (in my personal opinion) useless crap.
  13. As always Cheers to everyone still here, nad thankfully not all that many Jeers. Best luck and wishes to everyone in 2007, and as always Bobo, thanks for putting this together.
  14. I have to admit that BMWs are good cars, I just wouldn't own one. Most of the ones I've seen are just too over-engineered for my own tastes.
  15. Damn Dirty Apes!
  16. I don't do that much design work, most of it would be interior stuff anyway, but I'll do my best to get a design up here and there. 1. American_Revolution_2005 2. 17. No, I'm actually not. From what I've heard about the show, its a lot like 24, you had to have watched it from the very beginning to understand the whole show.
  18. Great looking piece of work sir.
  19. An outstanding buy! The 73-87 model 1/2 ton, and the 73-91 3/4 and 1-ton pickups, Suburbans and Blazers were all outstanding vehicles with little problems, except for the rust problem, but most of that can be fixed. As far as replacement parts, they're readily avaiable from 99% of your parts stores within your area. If you need stuff for the truck other than normal, check www.LMCtruck.com, you can practically buy the whole truck from them. I admit the prices are a bit much, but its all Original Equipment Replacement parts, made by the same manufacturers that popped the parts out when those trucks were new.
  20. Glad you could find that amusing Booyah
  21. I agree with on the smoothness of an I6 powerplant, they only problem with the 4200 is that its a TALL engine (and my utter disdain for turbochargers). There needs to be a replacement for the NorthStar series of engines, and unfortunately the 4.2L I6 will not be in that lineup.
  22. I really do like 'em. Although I have to agree, the wheels are tooo small. Gimme some good mud boggers on there and you'd have a perfect, from the factory, package.
  23. I've gotten a similar reaction from dealership staff when I walked onto the lot of the local Mercedes dealership (I was just looking for giggles) in shorts, and a t-shirt. The guy kept suggesting that a MB wouldn't fit my tastes (based on how I looked at current time). I let him blather on for about ten minutes, then dismissed him with a firm "I'm just looking". I leave, go home, change into my 3-piece suit and tie and go back out there. Same sales guy comes up to me all grins and handshakes.....till I chew his ass up one wall and down the other for giving me $h!ty service twenty minutes ago. I HATE the snobbery involved with owning import vehicles. I'll gladly move my way up the GM hierarchy Chevy (till I'm middle-aged) Buick (till I'm ready to retire), then Cadillac (Becuase I want the best of everything). Damn the imports.
  24. Saw a new Navigator on the road, Not impressed. Been seeing a buttload more Skys and Solsti around though, I'm digging that. GMT900s seem to be EXTREMELY popular around here, espeically the Silverado and Sierra.
  25. I'm not a huge fan of GLOCK, sure, they're kinda inovative with the polymer construction, but everyone is going that route now and you can easily buy a MUCH better gun than a GLOCK for the money. If I had the bills right now i'd be buying a Springfield Armory 5" Tactical model XD45. Then I'd add a set of good Trijicon dayglow sights to it and call it a day, maybe do a trigger job, but the six XD's I've shot as of so far didn't really need them.
