  1. I'm tired of hearing this one. Is there a political advocacy group for everyone's damn sensibilities? I'll be quite frank, I'm not PC... I'm really not, nor do I care about someone's precious sensibilities. I'd say run the damned commercial and suicide people be damned.
  2. I like it, I like it a lot. Espeically the lit accessory stalks. Although I think it would be nicer to have the lighting intensify as you do something like say, turn the wiper speed up, the light get a tick brither, then dim back down as you crank the wiper speed down.
  3. I'm sorry, but a Covette is still a Chevrolet. It doesn't need to be its own brand. That would be like saying that the Silverado pickup needs to be its own brand simply because there are enough of them out to be recognized all by themselves as Silverados, not necessarily as Chevrolets.
  4. Hm, I 1 star rating, does that mean its brother and sister cars also get such rating, or is it just the Buick?
  5. I'd definitely go for it. She's quite attractive.
  6. Hmm, I'd definitely say I'd do a midnight engine and trans lift from that car
  7. Hey Cort, the Monte had a 5spd
  8. More More More!
  9. Even, even more!
  10. More!x2
  11. More!!!!
  12. Well, here are the pictures I promised! GM was WELL represented at the show.
  13. I guess I am the goody goody. I've gotten plastered a couple of times, but I have done zero drugs. I always saw it as pointless, besides, it was more fun for me to watch others get wasted, and then laugh my butt off at them.
  14. You are correct sir. I'll put it this way, there were at least, and I'm probably being conservative on this, 300 cars, bikes, trikes, etc there. I personally took 160-ish pictures in the 3-ish hours I was there. I'll get them uploaded shortly.
  15. Mornin' fellas, and ladies. Alas, I will be going to the World of Wheels car show in Atlanta today. I'll be more than sure to take plenty of pictures and drool on at least a car or two. I dunno if any of you are going, probably not, but if you are, maybe I'll see ya there. For now, adios.
  16. Happy Birthday man! Hope that you have a good one and many more after this one.
  17. You could always go with a 4.3 out of a Monte Carlo from the same year, that way you get 6 cylinder fuel economy. I'm not exactly sure if the bell housing on the transmission would bolt directly to the engine, but i know that most engine/transmission combinations from GM are interchangeable. then again, a 3.8 would also work, you'd jsut have to forgo the supercharger unless you want to go with a heavier duty transmission.
  18. Synthetic oil looks, and smells just like regular dino juice. Synthetic oil is "slicker" than regular oil, therefore it cleans the engine, which could be a problem if you've got an older engine with a lot of miles on it, kinda like changing the transmission fluid and filter in a tranny that's never had a service job done to it. You might run into problems because it'll get all the gunk that's in there out and could cause some problems simply because synthetic oil will actually "clean out" the crud that's in there. My recommendation, do it, but make sure you try to run a good engine flush through the motor before it gets changed. Filter construction still relegates you to about 3000 miles between changes, meanwhile the oil technology can give you up to 15,000 miles before it starts to lose its lubricating properties.
  19. I have to say, as a W body owner, they were getting long in the tooth, in a way, I'm glad to see a phased removal of the product like that. It gives a chance for the plant to retool while still pumping out certain cars until full production can come up on the RWD models.
  20. Yeah, and there might be some wiring harness connectors that you'll have to do a nifty job of hiding and tucking out of the way.
  21. What transmission does the car have currently? You could go with a non-supercharged 3.8, or better, what year is your Riv?
  22. chlorophyl (sp?)
  23. to change the steering wheel: Disconnect the negative battery cable Remove all the underdash covers to gain access to the Air Bag power connectors, disconnect them. Remove the airbag fuse Remove the clamshell around the steering column Remove the airbag from the existing steering wheel Carry the airbag module (facing away from you for safetey's sake) and place somewhere where it won't get hurt Disconnect all associated wiring coming up and through the existing steering wheel (horn, etc) Get a steering wheel puller and pull the old wheel off Installation is the reverse of removal Or at least that's the long and short of it.
  24. That's not drifting, that's controlled sliding, the pavement is wet. Real drifting is done on a dry surface. He was just skidding it around, that's also why you do't see any tire smoke, because he's really not spinning the tires all that much.
  25. Could be a shock, could be a CV axle, could be the sway bar end links, could be the sway bar frame bushings, could be control arm bushings. To test the shock, go to the suspect side, push down on the vehicle, it should rebound no more than twice before settling again. To check for the other pars, you'll ahve to get the side up in the air. A CV axle would probably have a busted boot and grease leaking out of it. The sway bar would have excessive play at the end links, or at the frame bushings if they are suspect The control arm would have a WHOLE lot of excessive play in it, and you'd also probably have trouble keeping her aligned. Check those things then get back.
