  1. I'm listening to White Sister's '86 album Fashion By Passion...talk about some serious sploosh action on "April." Sounds like a Mutt song.Drum machines never get old.
  2. What a homely-looking vehicle. Toyota has just killed any credibility the Land Cruiser had left. Terrible.
  3. Yeah, I don't think these stats are quite right...we've done polls before and the 18-24 range is usually the highest And what, we've had like 3 females join this site total...and I think all except Staceface got scared away Lol, check out the stats for Blue Oval Forums...nearly all Asian and the household income for most is over $100K http://www.quantcast.com/blueovalforums.com
  4. Happy birthday, guys!
  5. I've never been to California, but I'd have to say SoCal would be more my thing. I love the desert and rugged, arid areas...especially after having seen Greece and how similar it is in look and feel to SoCal. Los Angeles is just a cool city and a lot of my favorite bands started up there. I like the car culture, the way you can see the San Bernardino Mountains rising up far in the distance from Santa Monica, and LA easily has one of the best skylines on the West Coast (something you couldn't say about it 30 years ago). Plus, San Diego isn't too far away. One of my friends in college lives in Moreno Valley and they have huge mountains rising up only a few blocks away from their house. I'd probably get annoyed by the flakes that live there though. But I'd never live in California because the cost of living is too high and it seems like the state tries to regulate everything. If I lived out west, it'd probably be Arizona or Colorado for me.
  6. You know, if you blindfolded me and set three discs in front of me...one from Nickelback, one from Theory of a Deadman, and one from Hinder...and played a random, obscure song off each...I couldn't tell you the difference. Death Cab is rock? Yikes, I wonder what he thinks heavy metal is...Linkin Park?
  7. Now because of this topic you're probably going to get 500 more because people will want to see if its true.
  8. Looking at that head on pic, I really miss how the PT Cruiser's grille used to go all the way to the bottom. It really lost something with the refresh.
  9. That was quite disturbing. I have no words.
  10. Here's a video called "The Global Warming Swindle"....it's a great watch if you have 74 minutes free. If you don't have that much time, watch from 33:40 - 45:00. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3028847519933351566
  11. I've always liked this version better (fits more with the arena sound) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPy2BggZP5I Animal
  12. I watched maybe three episodes total...I was more into all the Nickelodeon stuff at the time.
  13. Dave didn't turn out so great himself (unless he's cut his hair since this pic)
  14. I didn't know he produced Foreigner's "4"...another classic.
  15. Animal is one of the greatest songs out of the 80s...it was the first Def Leppard song I heard too. Hysteria is definitely a desert island disc. It's one of the few I can listen to over and over and never get tired of.
  16. This song must attract weird musicians...it gets better toward the end
  17. Well, better tell her to keep the receipt then. I wonder if it even has a warranty...
  18. Kinda funny, but he does the guitar wrong...high notes are down on the fret, not up.
  19. Oh, I totally agree with you empowah...I think we should continue to investigate ways to conserve resources and minimize our effect on the environment.I'm against the ones who profit from and/or sway political policy and public opinion all in the name of achieving personal desires, especially playing on fear. Al Gore is a slimeball and no better than the ones he ostracizes; he seems to be doing pretty well for himself if he can pay $30,000 utility bills. I'm still trying to figure out what his agenda is...maybe he just wants the spotlight that he could never get as vice president. The ones with the loudest voices tend to be the ones that don't practice what they preach. Anything that exposes these guys as the scam artists and fear mongers they are, the better off the rest of us will be.
  20. I saw something in '97 zip across the sky in eastern Wyoming as we were driving to our hotel in Cheyenne. I was leaning against the window getting tired and looking up at the sky, and since hardly anyone lives out there you could see all the stars and everything. Anyway, I saw some bright light zip across the sky and disappear behind the mountains. It might've been a shooting star but it seemed like it was too low in elevation. I still see a clear image of it in my mind even 10 years later...it was strange whatever it was.
  21. Please please PLEASE don't tell me the brand was Back to Basics. I just bought one for my sister as a birthday gift. $20
  22. The thing that annoys me about global warming fanatics, Gore & Co., the Sierra Club, etc. (plus the quarter of my studio that are now eco-nuts) is that the whole thing is based on grabbing people's emotions rather than relying on historical evidence, data trends, and logic. PETA pushes "methane warming" to claim that raising livestock is harming the planet so they can push the vegetarian agenda. The Sierra Club pushes global warming because they don't like SUVs and trucks rolling through national parks and wildlife preserves. Discovery Channel puts on TV spots showing East Coast cities flooding, massive hurricanes wiping out Miami, and tornadoes wreaking havoc in the Midwest. These people all conveniently ignore the devastation to agriculture during the Dust Bowl, the higher average temperatures during ancient Rome, the Little Ice Age, and a number of other different climate cycles our planet has gone through since humans have been observing the weather. What happened to the 1960s when these same people were predicting we were entering an ice age?
  23. http://www.ocregister.com/ocregister/opini...cle_1804986.phpAnd slowly, the premature global warming hysteria is starting to unravel. Like I said a while ago, we'll look back on global warming hysteria by Gore & Co. as one of the great scams of this era. http://www.kxmc.com/News/Nation/151418.asp
  24. From someone who grew up in minivans as a kid, I gotta say that's pretty cool. The table and double-row DVD players are good ideas. It's good to see the third row passengers not getting the short end of the stick anymore. I remember in our '93 Villager the second row had two cup holders and the third row had none, plus there were no second row vents so it got hot as hell in back. I wonder if they have any 120V outlets in back to charge a laptop. I like how Dodge is starting to do the USB ports with the Avenger. I'm sure other cars have done it or will be doing it (like Ford Sync-equipped cars), but the Avenger has done a good job marketing it.
  25. I was watching The Weather Channel a few minutes ago and they had an "eco brief" where they were complaining about the new iMacs being less eco-friendly. Granted, I don't really like Macs, but give me a break...it's the weather channel, report the damn weather. This eco crap is getting on my nerves...it's everywhere!!
