  1. Saw my first new '10 Camaro yesterday while cruising through Bethlehem, PA yesterday...yellow V6 with black stripes. Cool car, and looks very trim & tidy, but mean, on the road.
  2. Another Corvette...this one a new '08'ish Indy 500 Pace Car edition in black (there's actually more than one of these around here), all shiny, randomly sitting in a neighbor's driveway as I left this morning. Vanity tag: PACECAR Cool.
  3. HAHAHAHAH...that's awesome. I pictured someone throwing a big purple dong through the air...but to see a "correct" thing buzzing around like a helicopter... Fascinating. And hilarious. What an awkward "Uh...what do we do?" look on faces, as they laugh.
  4. Sort of a shared C&G spotting... ocnblu stopped by my work today on his way to the beach, I looked at his very nice Silver Moss Cobalt and its great new wheels, and he checked out my G8, then I let him drive it. While out for a few minutes, a silver C6 Z06 passed in front of us...nothing TOO spectacular, but I don't often see new Z06's and have definitely never seen a new ZR1 yet. Otherwise, as ocn was down here for, lots of random classics, blown Mustangs and such on trailers, etc. all headed down Rt. 1 for the OC cruise weekend. The parade should continue through tomorrow, with all sorts of random things on the road.
  5. ocnblu just stopped by a little bit ago and I let him take the G8 for a spin, and he snapped a picture. Now, if only he weren't so short...took me a few minutes to slide my seat back afterwards :AH-HA_wink: His Cobalt, by the way, is one of the nicest in person I've ever seen, especially from a color and new wheels perspective.
  6. An Olds Intrigue? That doesn't fit a lot of past talk...but hmm...
  7. PM'd you
  8. Just mentioned on the news tonight locally, too--I had almost forgotten. Err, actually, the weather has been so NOT late April/May around here lately, it's hard to believe what time it is, so close to summer. Looks like Morris, PA (conflicting maps here...) is quite a hike, wherever it might really be. Still, looks to be dry tomorrow, possibly wet Friday, dry'ish Saturday, wet again Sunday, etc. Figures, as Sunday I'm headed in the reverse direction up to Bethlehem, PA again... :AH-HA_wink: You know...as you'll be passing RIGHT by my work on Rt. 1 and even once you're at your hotel, it's literally minutes away, we may have to find one another at one point soon The big greenie from Oz is bellowing some mean tones now with just an air intake change, and likes to show it off.
  9. Wow...finally. Even more so, as I've been thinking about again and again...right now, everyone is just in cut-cut-cut, drop brands, drop models, etc. mode. Lest we forget, even if not doing beige Camry numbers month to month, year to year, models and brands now going away or being slowly trimmed off actually did sell. What the heck is going to be left when things are back to normal? Trimming the fat is one thing. Trimming away so much that when things are back in full swing everyone's choices are so limited is, uh, an odd proposition.
  10. Usually, yes;-) Amazing. I can put together detailed house plans & renderings from start to finish, but a sig still escapes me. I may have to take you up on that... :AH-HA_wink:
  11. I'm so literate with everything else involving a computer... ...but how the heck do I make a quality sig, like everyone else? Photoshop? Perhaps it's because I don't have software...or maybe I do...
  12. Me too. Savings has always stayed pretty level, work/pay unchanged and I stopped myself for months now except for the car itself, but now again just keep going with things. Suspension mods for a $33k car with 3k miles? Sure... Times are tough, but at the same time, I'm doing well enough and having fun at the same time, even if I'm not saving every penny. I can cut myself off for so long, then have a burst. Hopefully before too long I'll make some bigger changes finally with the work/pay and increase both the saving and spending, equally. We'll see.
  13. New white Challenger R/T with factory black stripes/markings and the 20" chromies...following me then me following him, side by side, vice verse for about 10 miles as I was speeding up through PA yesterday, on my way to Bethlehem. Fun, and one heck of a cool car on the road...he admired me and I admired him. Then a new black M3 driven by a girl somehow appeared and kept trying to tag along with our hotness, but just didn't have the visual :AH-HA_wink:
  14. Yeah, in this case it clearly just kept happening again and again and again...for 2 years. I was wondering how that thing must have drove/performed, even a while ago, with it in such a state. Obviously the CEL and non-running engine signaled something, but to all the other full throttle, etc. renters..."it doesn't run well"? Usually there's some notice.
  15. Absolutely. Certified has nothing to do with where it came from, just that it's used, has under the mileage limit, etc. and the dealer who picks it up does the Certifying. There were a lot of rental '08 G8's in the system, all of which seemed to get turned back in at the year or less mark with anywhere from 8-20k generally, and a lot are still for sale now. I tested an '08 GT with 10k that was an ex rental from Michigan locally here in Delaware around New Year's at a Chevy dealer who got it at auction, certified it, etc. and it was great, just not the best kept as far as detailing and such. Some were actual rental fleets and some corporate rentals, but either way, common with a lot of cars. It's just always scary as to what they've been through...stories like above or even just video's idiots post on YouTube doing long smokey burnouts in their G6's, DTS's, etc., go to show it. But, at the same time, quite a lot of rentals are simply just driven, maintained properly, etc. and no different than any other used car. All depends. The oil thing is scarily more common than people think...some people just really don't get it. My main co-worker has a loaded '07 Mountaineer with 31k on it, and from the time I first rode in it at 29k to now with nearing 32k, her "Oil Change Required" light has been on. She has it serviced at the dealer, etc., but just "hasn't had time to make it there"...still freaks me out. But, oh well.
  16. Hah, Roger...went out to lunch with my 32 year old co-worker/other half, and she said "the next 9 years will fly by like nothing." Same to you and your wife with the G6. Some celebratory send off drives today in our Pontiacs, into the sunset.
  17. I will. Despite the news...what a great day to be G8'ing into the sunset, hard throttle & my new air intake from Oz growling away.
  18. It seriously still feels like June or July. 85 degrees at 10:30 in the morning, and just has that "steamy" look and feel walking out in the morning. Not a bad thing, however. Just that darn pollen...EVERYTHING is freaking yellow around here. I dust my car off 3 times a day, and literally within 15 minutes, it looks like a yellow storm has blown through without me realizing it. Argh.
  19. Why thank you. All has been great today...except for the official Pontiac announcement, same day. Oh well. 23 is a funny number...still so young, yet starting to get the "wow, I'm not a kid anymore" feelings.
  20. Of course. It was a GREAT weekend to be down here, for sure. Very mid-summer like...but in April.
  21. Even though my '09 GT has one and I like it...I'll still agree just for consensus :AH-HA_wink: Otherwise, ocnblu, cool to hear you were down here. I was in Lewes all day working a model home and some other things, and could have taken you for a thrill ride in a G8, let alone just dealer lot pictures
  22. No changes here, whatsoever. The G8 still gets daily cleaned in between the bigger weekly washes and depending on weather, the tank still filled with Shell 93 Premium to go with the custom tune, and all service will be dealer done--when that time comes. And I'm, uh, entertaining a few more things in the way of accessories, suspension bits, etc. As for the others, my brother's Regal is actually the opposite, with him doing everything from undercoating to new trim pieces here and there to a new gas tank and having sections of the frame replaced--daily, really, it's always something. No slowing down and a shed full of parts. Dad's Subie and Cadillac are, as always, "as they are" and ignored, and mom's Malibu is essentially sitting for a while as she's stuck at home recovering from spine surgery.
  23. Bizarre in a Camaro, but a few people have done it with B/D body Roadmasters, a Fleetwood, and such--and it's quite fitting in those beasts.
  24. Definitely...definitely. In a few hours, at most :AH-HA_wink: Good enough for me to drive 2 hours north, and we have pretty good ones down here as it is.
  25. Nope...just like the convertible, comes in standard or GXP.
