Ahahaha. For sure :AH-HA_wink:

I used to used to get dead on 37mpg cruising with the rental '07 Malibu 2.2L I had, which was a big reason why we got the new '08 2.4L one. Too bad it's a pig in comparison and doesn't even feel as zippy, despite technically having more gusto. But otherwise...nice 2.2L numbers. I enjoyed that engine in the 'Bu. Looks like a successful road trip, too.

You ready for a V8-powered, RWD coupe from Hyundai?
caddycruiser replied to BrewSwillis's topic in Hyundai
As they stated, despite the same guts underneath, the coupe's smaller size and tighter engine compartment were not a natural fit, size wise, for the V8. Not that it's a big honking monster, but still, that was what was said a little while back. I'm sure it still would, but it probably is at the limit. And for their purposes of price, performance, and otherwise, they felt a turbo 4-cyl and a big V6 would best serve a coupe like this. -
New Yellow Camaro LT V6 coming out the back entrance of a shopping center in Rehoboth as I entered, last week. Driven by a 50'ish lady with a guy in the passenger's seat, and the funny thing being as I glanced at them, both of their heads panned along with my car...2 stunning Zeta's passing in the sun. Glorious. Seriously...lately I've seen so little of anything interesting, I'm grasping at straws every time I drive now, to spot anything. Wonder why. Hmm.

Absolutely, given that the VW version fixed a lot of the inherent issues with the Dodge/Chrysler originals, from interior to suspension tuning. As is, it should be the base of where the true Chrysler versions even start at.

Why thank you, for whatever it is you do at the "ultimate" :AH-HA_wink: As for me this month, keeping the G8 spotless as much as possible, re-doing my detailing routine for it at some point with a switch over to everything Zaino inside and out, roadtrip back up to PA again soon for the rest of my suspension install (struts & shocks were TBD last trip/install), a possible roadtrip short or long to a car show or club gathering locally or a bit farther depending on what's going on...and continued searching for a big career/life change in a field in the automotive world, in whatever form. We'll see how it goes, for all of this.

That freakin' kills...hah

Not a Sports package car, clearly. Has the standard wheels in polished form and the extra chrome trim, so, no. But otherwise looks like a decently equipped non-Sport V8. Very nice cars, other than the typical issues that are known, and a terrific platform/suspension/drivetrain.

I have a few local peeps who ride frequently like that...I need a new/proper bike. Perfect location for it, flat, straight, water, and all.

It stayed cloudy and 70'ish at home, but the friend's asked again and off to the beach I went. MUCH better weather down there, a perfect 72'ish with blue skies and sun. What a nice half hour in Lewes: Then, back to the clouds and an evening G8 car wash. 82 and sunny tomorrow, apparently. Probably more G8 stuff among other Sunday "stuff".

It's about 72 down here in beach land but gray-cloudy, 5 minutes of sun, then cloudy again... A friend asked if I wanted to go to the beach, and I'm just not feeling it in this weather...meh. But at least it isn't raining. Perhaps it's G8 cleaning time.

Relatively dirty silver '10 Camaro SS from Pennsylvania cruising south on Rt. 1 here in Lewes/Rehoboth yesterday. That's, hmm, only the 2nd one I've seen driving anywhere when I'm out, and I actually liked the subdued silver more than the vivid banana...err, yellow.

alles Gute zum Geburtstag :AH-HA_wink:

Brand new red '10 Mustang V6 with factory chrome/polished wheels...looked more different than you'd think from pictures and ah, that glimmering, fresh off the lot, paper plates look Funny thing, I was looking at it as we passed and the guy driving it was staring at the 'ole G8 similarly.

Very nice car. I was never a fan of that gen Impala in many ways, BUT when you get the right trim/wheel/color combo, my view completely changes. Your new one is one of the "good" ones, for sure. Amazing how different a fully painted LS with attractive wheels can be from a base with terrible hubcaps and the flat black rub strips all around which...well...never made one ounce of sense. Purty gold car :AH-HA_wink:

Finally, the yellow Camaro 1LT V6 arrived in Lewes at LAM...sitting out front since Thursday. Cool.

It's decontenting, but at least from what you've posted, not sure of the how/why yet. The same has happened on a lot of other models, as I remember our GMT-800 SUV's over the years...each year they lost more and at the end, they were down to removing the fuzzy carpet kick panel piece on the bottom of the door panels, just leaving it blank. There was a big difference between our '02 Avalanche and our '04 Suburban post the interior electronics changes, but then after that they really took more out. Something seems very decontenting here...but as it seems some early ones don't but some later ones do, more investigation needed. Hmm.

I can't...and again, this is coming from someone who not only traded a 4 month old Malibu for a loaded G8 back in February, but also just dropped a couple of grand in re-doing the G8's suspension a week ago. All among other things. I absolutely, positively cannot. The one good thing about this is I love the G8 so much, I keep myself focused on the same car and only changing things with it...not trading for another, starting another loan over again, etc. Well, you know, if only I had the budget to also have a couple of others...I would. Thankfully I still live comfortably in the bubble of being decently secure in what I'm doing, albeit looking for a big change before long.

Lime green 2011 Ford Festiva 4-door hatch with some splashy graphics on the lower/rear, and the typical (I think) Michigan tags driven by one of the Festiva website people. Was on a back road just after lunch today, 4 cars coming towards me and the last was lime green...then...wa-la, there it was. Very cool little car. Then I go out tonight and less than a mile from my house, there it is parked in someone's driveway. Again, cool little car and even from a distance "looks" quality.

Agreed, everywhere. Right now, the Charger is by far the best police car package ever offered in a long time. Built like a tank, very advanced but simple where it counts, RWD, a popular V6 that isn't a rocket but has better power than a lot of the Ford V8's that have been the standard for so long...AND a Hemi/5-spd option if so desired, reliable, and...most of all...a look that just fits police car duty like no other. It's the best choice, in every way. I'd love to see GM Zeta cop cars, as they use in the homeland of Australia with a similar breakdown to how we see Chargers used here...but it all comes down to availability, cost, etc. As things change in the car world, it'll be interesting to see how the domestic police car market pans out for the next umpteen years.

Hmm...holiday...actually nothing out of the ordinary except for weaving around all the beach traffic of PA, NJ, MD and all the others down here in droves, and having a Monday off for the first in a long while.

You rock...killer pics, the first one especially. Wow, what a baja runner it was last week . It's funny, I even can spot the failing stock suspension on that newer GTO above...droopy rear, canted in rear wheels and such. But I still love it. Ah, such a Pontiac-o-phile...
-
Yep, even in small Delaware...all good here. A couple of Chrysler places who didn't carry the full 3-brand line got cut, but no GM's that I know of.

It's an Aussie thing apparently...but fairly cool. It apparently takes quite a long time of driving with the cruise on to signal it, as I've at least done some fairly typical stints and never seen it, like most owners. That picture was from an Edmunds long-term blog when they finally did. I think you can cancel it, but I'm not 100% sure. Another feature might be the night panel of sorts, where I can hit a button and turn off all lighting except for my speedo...kinda Saab-like.
-
I've yet to actually see it on mine, but the little rest reminder that pops up on the G8's DIC after a certain length of steady driving with the cruise on:
