  1. My friend Mike, who worked for a Limousine manufacturer in the 1980s has told me a few interesting stories about his Lincoln and Cadillac experiences... if even 25% of what he told me is true then I think it is safe to say that the "C-body" Cadillacs were the absolute worst of any era of Cadillacs ever. Some people like to say the BustleBack was the worst Cadillac ever and there's no doubt that the C!marron was a $hitpile in a lot of ways but in the end they at least did not tarnish one of Cadillac's most perstegious names. This are some "special" Cadillacs... I guess to me a 22-way power seat and italian leather do not make up for embarassing mediocrity in terms of mechanicals, styling & quality!
  2. The lawsuit is NOT retarded... Ralph Nader's U.A.A.S. was stupid for attributing accidents to colored dashboards, rear engined design & other unrelated stuff and yet that was taken seriously. With any luck this will damage HondAcura's reputation and cost them sales.
  3. Here's a GAZ Volga BTW..... nice two-tone paint. I'd love to grab that "Gazelle" hood ornament for a 1950s Rat Rod though.
  4. I'd rather have a rebadged '90s German car (esp. MB) instead of a stupid communist era Russian car that brings zero innovation, poor quality and mediocre styling to the table. Getting back to 2007 I even like SEATs are not bad cars these days... My uncle back in Slovakia has a 2000? 5dr that's quite sporty and IMHO better looking that any VW from the same era. The new Seats are a bit cheesy but not too shabby for economy cars. http://www.seat.com/com/generator/su/com/a.../site/main.html
  5. That gross disgusting B-pillar is inducing. The interior & sculpted fenders are nice but now that Mercedes, the new Camaro & even Jaguar have new HARDTOPS in showrooms 2 door luxury/sport cars with B-pillars are ubber lame! The headlights are also cheesy and that Audi grille is getting very cheesy.
  6. one of the most frustrating things for me as a Chevy/GMC/Pontiac salesman and GM enthusiast was always seeing awsome K.O. punch stuff like this in a brochure that kicked around a GM dealership but was never advertised to the general public. It is a stupid way to advertise your dominance in the makretplace since most Toyota/Honda/Nissan/Mazda/Dodge/Ford loyalists don't ever step into a GM dealership. You should have seen the stuff we had kicking around for the launch of the new Tahoe/Suburban in 2000. If you read any of the comparative stuff to the Expedition & Excursion you'd be amazed. The Ford was 70% the truck, even $-per-$... it was amazing.
  7. mad max
  8. WMJ: The Matador is a perfect case of a super cool weird car that would be much better if it had a sexy hardtop greenhouse instead of that chunky B-pillar with a tiny rear side window. Yeah... I'll spill the beans on my new car soon.
  9. Wow... we all have goals I guess. Threads like this always piss me off. The same exact people who in the past have said most consumers do not know the diff. or care about RWD vs. FWD & buy cars based on content, styling and C.R. reviews MT, R&T etc. ALL OF A SUDDEN say how RWD will be a crutch for a car. Bull$h!. Normally I'd go on another 247 word mini-essay about how much FWD sucks and how much I love RWD btu I'm not in the mood today, either way RWD will always be the logical choice, the enthusiast's choice. Balanced, fun, practical.
  10. Boo-Yeah, behold the awsome power of Front Wheel Drive!
  11. dead deals
  12. I need a shovel, so I can dig myself out of the bull$h! pile that I read in that article. You know, weather this is true or not (god I hope not) I hear that in the late 19th century plenty of people thought that electricity & telephones were EVIL.
  13. Toyota is like that spoiled cousin everyone loves to hate.
  14. Cadillac... my favorite brand in the world. The cool blues are nice too.
  15. Name the car. It's NOT German.
  16. I think in some f***ed up way this is the most significant Automobile since the invention of the wheel.
  17. I could NEVER but a Mini (new or old) with an automatic trans. That would be like fu*king Drew Barrymore, but with Hillary Clinton's vag'! Speaking of manual transmissions guess what I dragged home!?
  18. Looks MUCH better than a REAL R.R. I like it. If I ever found one I'd drive it all over God's paved earth and evrytime someone complemented me on my R.R. I'd get VERY insulted and say that my Monte Carlo Silver CLoud is NOT some piece of $hit British car.... what in INSULT.
  19. Looks like I will not be buying that 1977 Nova, this kid thinks the car is worth more than double what I think it is worth... but in the end it's funny how fate has a way of workign out... after jotting down about 30 other potential cars in my notebook, at 2:00am, I find THIS! http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_...=&cardist=9 I'll either buy this Datsun tomorrow, or perhaps the 1982 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 4dr DIESEL, or (3rd choice) a 1983 Diesel Mercedes Benz 240.
  20. 1. Yes... I've seen a fire resulting from a car running while it was filled up. 2. I've heard about #1. about a half dozen times 3. Most places around here have a LAW against gasing up with a car running. 4. If you break rule #3. you can get fined 5. Using regular oil when the car was switched to synthetic is VERY BAD!
  21. Capt. Boo Yeah: Dude, fight the power. Tell you govmnt. to F*** off and vote with your $$$. Buy a Camaro and do a burnout in front of city hall. Rememer those nasty burnouts that I posted on here of my 1968 Camaro? The ones I posted about a year & a half ago? About half of them were done right outside the local EPA building!
  22. Satty: If you were living in Europe in 1943 it was a $hitty place to be. But it was "reality" to people, nothing you could do, just deal with it, right? Still does not mean I have to be happy about it! While that's a pretty drastic example I'm just saying the average car these days is just disgusting. We as Americans have become complete pu$$ies. Most Lexus owners can't even change a flat tire & need back up sensors to make sure they do not drive over their kids' bike when they're backing out of their driveway. I think we should all be fu**ing ashamed of ourselves for making the Camry the best selling car in the USA. Disgusting! As far as me, EVERY single car purchase I have affected or my family has made has been GM. Even our best friends Chris & Izabella when they looked around for new cars to buy and trade Chris' 1995 Tercel in on asked me for advice I did my best to keep their new car GM, & if not then at least American. If it had not been for me they probably would have just defaulted to a Corolla but instead they actually went to a few dealers other than just Toyota and bought a 2005 PT-Cruiser. 45,000 miles later they're VERY happy with their decision.
  23. I hate gay people... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ... who drive Toyota Camrys, Priuses, ES300s and RX330s. As far as this Hardaway hes probably just a closet case.
  24. Excellent Article. Althought I learned a few things about both DOHC and Pushrods my theory is stands very much true. DOHC is a smoke and mirrors marketing catchphraze and not muhc else. I sure as heck feel no need to ever own a DOHC motor. They have never impressed me much. I look at Acuras, Toyotas & Mazdas at the junkyard withthe velvecover off and it always just makes me think of how much added weight and complexoty there is. It's not at all "sophisticated" or more advanced in my eyes. DOHC was advanced on Deusenbergs and it was sort of neat on the Northstar, which is the only V8 that it belongs on in the GM lineup. I hope pushrods never die, simplicity, durrability & low weight are GREAT attributes in a motor. If it aint broke, don't fix it!!!
  25. Yeah... you have to hear about it the next morning.
