  1. I think there should be a random & misc. thread for all the $h! we post saying: 'check it out BV' or something to that extent.
  2. Decreased: less demand for oil = lowr price = lower price for plastics.
  3. IIRC They were only powered by a V8 or an inline 4 (litteraly half the V8) so the hood did not need to be as long as the Chevys & Fords which still had inline sixes in their base trucks. To hell with that though, Inline Sixes are awsome!
  4. IIRC that's still like 700% of the total amount of Acura NSXs sold in 2000.
  5. Take away those cool round tail lights and stick on a twin port grille and a great instant Pontiac you have NOT. The G5 is more of a rebadge than the 1994 Sunbird my mother owned in the mid 90s & I had for a first car.
  6. The secret to the original Z/28s success was a track ready motor in a street legal car. A lot of old School car guys hated the Z/28 for it's high RMP horsepower & lack of torque. It was oversquare and reved like a Ferrari. 327 block with a 283 crank = 4.9 liters. It was perfect for the 5.0 liter limitation by Trans Am officials. So that being said I want a modern Z/28. Make it a 5.3 block w/ a hyper-oversquare stroke and make it both rev to like 8000 but at the same time give it some low-rpm torque... to quote a cheesy car movie "this will decimate all!" Plus with DOD and the smaller disp. a true Z/28 would be a great daily driver with a 6-speed manual.
  7. Yes indeed Camino, if the next gen. Holden Ute is not re-badged as an elCamino and brought over than GM is mentally retarded!
  8. No, not porn. Anyone ever hear of the Camaro Movie? I bought a copy on ebay a few years ago. It's a hokey marketing flick about an hour in length that talks about the youth oriented F-body and how it is the most advanced and unique product from GM ever. This is partially true since the 1st gen. F-body was the first vehicle in history to use computers to aid to its engineering, design & even to determine specification of it's semi-unibody construction as well as some suspension design. The video includes a few TV commercials for the 1967 Camaro and IIRC 4 out of the seven are specifically GEARED towards women. The Camaro will be a huge success for some of the same reasons why the 300C & Charger have done so well... traditional American nameplate from the golden era reworked with modern technology but using the "if it's not broke don;t fix it" approach. RWD, killer looks, V8 availability & a pedigree that would make a Porsche 911 envious = GREAT SELLER!
  9. Would you consider this "work safe"? http://www.ebaumsworld.com/flash/fckshtpss.html
  10. Coon new flash animation off of Ebaumsworld. http://ebaumsworld.com/flash/animator-vs-animation.html ---
  11. Last time I was in my room back at my parent's house I still had that "Visceral Reality" ad haning next to a poster of the GNX.
  12. If I could magicaly erase one vehicle from existance it would be the Hon-duh Ridgeline. x 10,000,000
  13. Zero for 72... hell I'd buy a Solstice if that was the case!
  14. The Ranger is one of the lamset products of the past 15 years and that's saying a lot. Shame on Ford for not redesigning that POS in like 1998.
  15. now there's a couple of nufckig words that should be censored!
  16. Harley's back from the dead!!! You seen my Sixty4 Olds yet? You of all people will enjoy it.
  17. I had that one in "etched" style print on my passanger side window just below the mirror.
  18. Once again Balthy's right... this definately qualifies as a "compact" pickup.
  19. Buick LaSalle? Hmm... not sure if I love the idea or hate it.
  20. Yeah... I miss JamesB, he is a fountain of knowledge.
  21. If only it had been RWD... :AH-HA_wink:
  22. Yes... the car's been in storage since our coutry's 200th anniversary of existance (1976) so a "little" rust repair, complete engine rebuild and a lot of other miscelaneous restification is needed, but for a 1959 Buick it is in great shape compared to many others that go through ebay. I'm not a serious bidder, but now that I got my name on the auction I could very well get a second chance offer... and well, you guys know I'm crazy enough to drag it home if money wasn't somehow an obsticle.
  23. Actually the hints give it away as the ONLY car of the era with those styling features... but if you're not a coniseur with a photographic memory like JamesB or Balthazar you'd never guess it in a million years because you probabyl don't even know the car existed. Here's some other hints: - It was a show car for a company that has been dead since before I was born. - It is so long that both in overall length & in wheelbase it is closer to a new Chevy Silverado 3500 crew cab long bed than any modern "car". - It has four mini tailfins but they are not placed like a '59 Pontiacs' and neither does it have "Skegs" like a '61 & '62 Cadillac. - The car was built outside the USA by a company that has ties to a classic VW car. - Red on the outside black on the inside, white walls & real wire wheels w/ knock-off hubs.
  24. Poke around the Lounge and in the Olds forum... you'll find a few neat threads. I've got some interesting stuff I'll scan in sometime soon from my many books.
  25. I'm the highest bidder on a 1959 Buick right now... $685.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...mMakeTrack=true
