  1. Awsome post!!! I too like the styling and tight proportions of the 1969 better.
  2. "Yes... a few times" Never arrested and never cause I was in trouble, but once I got a ride to school in one of Haverhill's Crown Vics. after I dropped off my crunched up Achieva right after my accident. Another time I got a ride to and from a friend's house becasue my STS was "borrowed" against my will by a friend. I got a ride there and was escorted out in my car so there would be no trouble. The third time was the night I sold my 1986 Fleetwood Brougham, a buddy got arrested after trying to get out of a speeding ticket by out running the cops. He didn't out run them but they were nice enough to give us both a ride in one of their NH issue Interceptors. I got to ride without any handcufs on but he got to hang out in the back of the police station while I bailed him out.
  3. "Insane" is a relative term. I think only an insane person would buy a 2006 Toyota Camry for $27,000 or spend almost double that on an Acura with a V6.
  4. Hello and welcome to C&G. That is quite a ride you got there. I love all B-bodys and love to see customized ones like this. Could you post or email me a bigger pic please? [email protected] Thanks in advance. Have not forgoten about you either. You sig is coming.
  5. This is absurd. How can one country be "united" when two languages separate the population. I came here from Slovakia legaly and learned english, so did the rest of my family. I have friends from Brazil, Hungary & even a few from Spanish speaking countries and all of them have learned english and function well in our country.
  6. Good to see a great review for a Change, the Cobalt deserves it.
  7. Very good read, no huge surprises there, just confirming what we Camaro guys have been saying for years. Even if we did get mocked for it, as a matter of fact quite a few times we RWD/Camaro fans were ridiculed and told that the Camaro concept will be a reality when pigs fly or things to that effect. Thanks for the great read. Ummm.... okay, how about Caprice Classic, Biscayne & Bel Air for Chevy; Invicta, Electra & Park Ave for Buick; Catalina, Grand Am & Chieftan for Pontiac?
  8. IN regards to the Q45: - RWD - IRS - Traction off button just left of the steering wheel - walnut trim on the dash & center console - super cumfy seats - ignition in the dash (not on steering column) - cushy ride that reminds me of my old Fleetwoods - ergonomic & intuitive buttons for the sunroof - Single key for all locks/ignition --------------------------- As far as the Datsun Maxima: - RWD - Inline Six - IRS - Talking Datsun lady, still waiting to hear "Me love you long time" - "tap to turn on" domelight. Just tap anywhere on the light for off/on. - Factory 8-speaker "Super Sound System" - Good ergonomics: dead pedal, seats, stalks etc. - Single key for all locks/ignition w/out any B.S. chips or resistors - 4 wheel disk brakes - completely flat trunk flooor - swiveling map light As far as the Camaro: - 377 horsepower pushrod SBC V8 with aluminum heads - 10 bolt rear end that takes a LOT of abuse - Spartan interior that lacks things like radio, carpet or even any form of HVAC - Super Scoop hood that vibrates at 3000+ RPM & shakes violently at 7000.
  9. The last decent Acura hatch was the mid-90s Integra... then they let it stagnate and though still an icon they killed it. At any rate, Who cares? Honda sucks anyway.
  10. Bitch, Bitch, Bitch... try being a Bruins fan in the 1990s & 2000s. The Boston lineup as of late is like a pickup league in Flodida.
  11. 1. Small Block Chevy 2. Any non-SBC pushrod V8 built by GM from the 40s to today.* 3. Chevy "stovebolt" Inline Six 4. Buick 3800 5. VW "pancake" flat four 6. Northstar V8 7. Datsun/Nissan inline-six motors of yesteryear * with the exception of the 267 and a select few others
  12. Tribal Seat covers... TIGHT WHIPS!!!
  13. If I had a 1969 MM Cadillac Hearse I'd never drive anything else.
  14. manual transmission
  15. I think my stance on this issue is well known. If I had to give up half my liver tol ses this thing to production I might hesitste for a sec., just to figure out which half to keep. But serously build it, make sure it's a hardtop & 99.9% true to the concept and it will sell like hotcakes. Short term & long term, as long as it looks like the concept the car will be a smashing success. The RWD, powerful pushrod V8s & lack of a fixed B-pillar are obvious MUST haves, the IRS & DOD will help and a ecotech twin-turbo tuner-crowd-pleaser would be a cool way to expand it's demographic and shake it's redneck stigmata. But I think that's already gone anyway.
  16. Balthazar nailed it. Mercedes-Mopar has the right idea. I think the next gen. RWD seadans for Chevy, Buick & Pontiac could be re-tooled Sigmas. (STS) just as the 300/Magnum/Charger are just dummed-down E-class MBs. This means the tooling, platform & chassis has a lot more life and there's less need for reinventing the wheel evey 6 years.
  17. With the possible exception of a hypothetical n.g. RWD Celica Toyota does not have anything that I woudl like, my GM bias aside. I think the new Camry is a huge improvement styling wise over the last but that's not saying much.
  18. It's all right, our hobby is rich in lexicon.
  19. Cool, as nice as small block chevys are the Caddy V16 motors are about a billion times cooler than any engine ever. I wonder what gthe firing sequence is for the new sixteen concept?
  20. The only reason I care about Hyundai at ALL is the rumors of the next Tiburon being the lowest cost RWD, V8 powerd sport sedan. I'd probably never buy one but it would be a nice alternative to all the 4-cylinder FWD rice.
  21. Retro just might save GM if they can do as nice of a job with the Impala/Invicta/Bonneville as they did with the Camaro. In other words, mostly excellent original lines and design cues blended and morphed togeater in a way as to elude to the golden era... which ended in the earlty 1970s.
  22. Yeah... they should stick to 5.0 Mustangs & 3rd gen Camaros if you ask me. 1961 is way too old to be molesting with big obnoxious rims & ugly "custom" interiors. Dodgefan: That's an awsome site. Meathead indeed...
  23. I wish Paris would play the role of some Christian Martyr from the Roman era... like perhaps one of the people who got eaten by lions & tigers in the Circus Maximus.
  24. Sad but true. I love my Q45, but the one thing I don't like about that waterfall grille and the squareish headlights is that they were ripped off by the 2001-up Hyundai XG350. Since we bought our Q I have only seen a few on the roads. A burgundy one yesterday that looked very sharp and like 10 or maybe 12 in the last two months. But even I have on a few occasions thought an XG was a Q45 from a distance. It the XG is black and it's high noon you have a hard time telling them appart from 150+ feet away.
  25. Okay here's a few: --------------------- --------------------- --------------------- And last but not least.... If a 1988 Ford Crown Vic. & a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix had sex I think the result would be similar to the 2006 Honda Accord sedan. Those 1993 Buick Skylark tail lights off the 2003 are looking like they might have not been a low point in Honda styling after all + =
