  1. Hmm... 105.3? Get some rest. Drink lots of fluids (etc, etc). You were about 3 degrees off from frying your brain. And we don't need any more deaths around here. Feel better. PS: A short anecdote. One time that I had a fever in the middle of a heat wave. I stepped outside in it. I was actually relieved to escape the air conditioning. It wasn't quite like standing outside in the middle of winter and then stepping into a well-heated house. The feeling was a bit different from that.
  2. I was thinking it might be a temporary, functional piece, but I like your answer better. Of course, it could be a powertrain mule that is being tested for Buick, but using a more nimble architecture rather than the Lucerne or Enclave. Then again, I'm no expert.

    Uggg...

Hmm... If that's what it boiled down to, I wonder what the hell you cut out. Bad times suck (see thread from earlier in week). The only way you can really enjoy life is if you learn to identify and appreciate the good times.
  4. ... Argh! I submit! Testicles
  5. It's a photo... from the FUTURE!
  6. What makes the TV ad campaign worse is that it's corporate wide. So for every brand they want to advertise they use the same remixed "hail to the chizzle" track. And I thought I was getting annoyed by the Ford Edge commercials. At least that song is catchy.
  7. I had a sneaking suspicion of where that might be going. As always, the best way to get back at a homophobe is to come on to him.
  8. Haven't watched the video yet, don't have time to. By "Global Dimming", is the author referring to the end extreme of over pollution? That there is so much smog in the sky that sunlight cannot come down? Even in grade school, this concept was explained to me. But I had never heard of it again, until now.
  9. Green Day vs Oasis is pretty fun. Didn't very much enjoy the other two. And as always, "How You Remind Me of Someday" will forever be a classic reminder of what happens when Nickelback sells out.
  10. I see. But wasn't a MCE recently unveiled for the H2? Or do interior upgrades not count?
  11. Someone at one point or another made a comment that Toyota would get all the bad press once it became the largest automaker. Well. It looks like more and more of the focus is shifting from GM every day.
  12. They ripped that grille straight off the Honda Accord.
  13. What's the significance of the Aveo in that graphic? Is it the median entry or something?
  14. They're driving like Americans. I admit my gas numbers are low because I don't exactly baby the car. But I've gotten 34 mpg highway, as previously advertised. It's just that most of my driving takes place in "city" conditions. And I usually don't meet 24 mpg in the city.
  15. I think there's a C6 under there rather than a C5. They're using 6th gen badges. I was going to remark that the A-pillar is the 6th gen design, but 5th gen had the same lower thickening. This kit creates a unique vehicle for the buyer, and at the same time creates a reserve of body panels for damaged Vettes. Good stuff.
  16. I'm not a big fan of Chrysler in general, but for the sake of this thread I will point out my likes and dislikes. Likes: Dodge Charger. That's one awesome looking sedan. Jeep Grand Cherokee. It's styling leaves behind its heritage, but it's a slick angular design. Dodge Caliber. I appreciate it's stand-out style, at least from most angles. Dodge Viper. Hot. Dislikes: Chrysler Sebring. To me, the front says "1998 Malibu". Dodge Durango. Bloated. Chrysler Aspen. Bloated, plus 1998 Ford Expedition styling. Dodge Nitro. Design is overdone. Though I bet it has a lot of cargo space for its size. Chrysler PT Cruiser. The design doesn't age well. The refresh wasn't enough. The HHR may be a "copy", but at least it's a FRESH DESIGN. One that GM is probably not going to try to run forever.

    SAE

Hm... I'm guessing you'd actually have to be an automotive engineer to join their society. So that counts me out. So does the SAE send you any publications?
  18. Update #1: The father has flown down from PA to see everyone. His denial phase is over, and he was the one to inform his wife, Lisa, of their children's deaths. She is still in the hospital being treated for a lacerated spleen and other injuries. Everyone else has been released from hospital care. Thank you all for your kind words. I will keep you posted. Also, I'm sure it's on people's minds, and no one wants to be insensitive, so I'll say it myself. This incident only helps to prove Sly's theory about Toyota drivers...
  19. Doesn't this essentially create a satellite radio monopoly?
  20. http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/topstor...x?storyid=76295 Everyone involved in the eastbound motorcade is/was a member of my extended family. The driver of the second car, Lisa, is in really bad condition, last I heard.
  21. Ah, so this is becoming a lawsuit now. This should be interesting...
  22. Front: I like it. Stylistically, all it needs is a larger grille. Back: Also not bad, but it reminds me of a Suzuki Reno or Nissan Versa: I guess efficient subcompact design can only go so far.
  23. Based on the last couple posts in this thread, throwing a foreign adversary into NASCAR might do more to help its ratings...
  24. Last time I checked the thread, the pic was an engine block that said "Turbo Diesel". Now it's a pic of the Lincoln Mark VII. Silvester's caption is a lot more entertaining when looking at the aforementioned Cadillac/Mercedes lovechild.
  25. B-P-G will not go under a single brand, but they will be sold at the same dealership. "Ford Lincoln Mercury" is just a dealership that sells cars of all three brands, except there is way too much overlap in that setup. Not so with Buick / Pontaic / GMC.
