  2. I was on GMInfonet today looking at some vehicle specs when I noticed that they finally added XM Radio to the option list. We were also told that if you have a 2006 vehicle with a new style OnStar antenna, a chip just needs to be added to allow your vehicle to recieve the XM signal. XM Radio Canada service begins December 1st. As of today GM Canada vehicles can be ordered with XM Radio.

  5. http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...p;rssfeed=rss01 By JAMIE LAREAU, AUTOMOTIVE NEWS "General Motors may build a Buick luxury car that is sized and priced below the LaCrosse. Executives are rethinking GM's U.S. product plans in light of new federal regulations requiring an average fuel economy of 35 mpg by 2020, company insiders say. The small Buick could be one outcome. The vehicle would be based on the Buick Excelle sedan that debuts in China by early next year. "I definitely think there might be a market for a luxury-crafted smaller car for Buick," says a senior GM source. GM would have to resolve where in North America to build the car. Also, exec…

GM urged to pull suicidal robot ad Eric Morath | Link to Original Article @ Detroit News The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention isn't amused by General Motors Corp.'s Super Bowl ad depicting a despondent robot leaping off a bridge in a dream sequence, and demanded Wednesday that the automaker pull it off the air. Calling the ad insensitive, the organization also wants GM to remove it from its Web site. The "ad is insensitive to the tens of millions of people who have lost loved ones to suicide," said Robert Gebbia, executive director of the foundation. I just noticed something strange yesterday. My local GMC-Pontiac-Buick store and the Cadillac-Hummer (no Saab) store are owned by the same dealer but in different locations about a mile apart. They have just combined all 5 franchises into the older GMC-Pontiac-Buick lot (which sits right next to a successful Lexus dealer). A Volkswagen dealer will move into the former Cadillac-Hummer property next to the Infiniti store (which is also owned by the GM dealer). The pylon sign hasn't been changed yet, but the dealer has put up crummy "Cadillac" and "Hummer" block letter signs. "Oldsmobile" can still be read on the window as you walk into the showroom. Now, I live in an…

" "Queen said initial plans for Zeta stretched the architecture beyond its limits for some North American vehicles. "We needed to reassess and reconfigure the program," he said." "A GM spokesman said no product plans have been approved and that GM still is studying design themes, performance ch…

  16. GM's Global Goals: Automaker's international car lines get closer By Paul Horrell Link to Original Article @ Motor Trend Jim Queen, GM's VP of global product development, has told Motor Trend more about how GM's international car lines will continue to get closer. Opel AntaraHe said GM's new Australian RWD platform will be used not just on the Pontiac G8 and Chevy Camaro, but as the basis for the next generation of Cadillacs. In fact in GM's portfolio, the only large RWD car (not truck) not built on this platform will be the next Corvette and XLR.
