I still like this car alot. Just a shame that the wagon won't come, but I understand their reluctance to bring it considering the fate of other large wagons on the market recently.

I priced one on Edmunds. A fully loaded GT is under $33k. That's a damn good price. GM could sell 100k if they could produce that many. It's a shame some people within the company are so close-minded and don't care for the health of the company as a whole, but rather only the part of the company for which they work.

Who would be that some people you're referring to? I'm curious? :scratchchin:

I think it's quite obvious that some people who make the decisions obviously thought that way, otherwise why would seemingly 75% of them get canceled? Surely there were some people who wanted them canceled no matter what, and their cause was helped by rising gas prices, but I think it's quite obvious that there were people who wanted them canceled from the start regardless. See the original delay, they weren't originally delayed because of CAFE.

I hear ya on all counts.

I'm looking forward to test-driving one when they come out... it's been a while since I test-drove something, and I'm having withdrawals.

I'd be more excited about the G8 if I knew for sure that the Pontiac dealers aren't going to be a$$holes by putting huge "market adjustment premium" prices on them (see recent GTO and Solstice launches). I doubt very highly most Pontiac dealers aren't going to try to capitalize for themselves on the limited production G8s. Paying sticker isn't something I like to do (and have ever rarely done it), but I'll say right now I won't even consider a vehicle OVER the sticker price. GM better watch out for this, because it will surely hurt them.
