Today, June 6th is the 25th anniversary of Tetris being released. 6/6/1984 was probably the greatest day in human history.

I would prefer 9/12/66, the intro of the Chevrolet Camaro myself...

Chris

Tetris is insanely addictive. I haven't played it for a couple of years for that very reason.

I love it. Unlike my mind, everything falls into place.

I have a wacky way of starting it off, too.

Play nearly every day for 'round 5 minutes.

Is there any sort of Super Tetris, like 3 times the playing field width ??

That's long overdue.....

There was a Super Tetris, back in the day. Wasn't wider, but it started you out with a pile of squares that you had to get to the bottom of, and there were special squares that gave you different points or made certain rows disapperar. It was the first Tetris game I played. There have been countless other variations out there as well.

It definitely rivals 9-9-99 for the greatest day in human history.

9-9-99 was the day either the MTV Movie Awards or VMAs were held, I dont recall which, but I remember they advertised the hell out of it and I hated it.

It was the day Dreamcast was released in North America, which is infinitely more awesome than the MTV awards, and will still be more awesome than pretty much everything forever.

I dont recall Tetris being available on the Dreamcast. But Extreme Sports was, and that game was awesome. Where else can you ski and hang glide? Nowhere, thats where.

DC not only had an online Tetris game where you could compete with others, they even had a version called 'Tetris: 4D' , making DC the only system ever made to have four dimensions, as opposed to three. Even Playstation 3 cannot match that.

I never played the Tetris 4D game, but Gamespot says it sucked.
