MAY 2013 CAR SPOTTERS THREAD**********

Recommended Posts

May Day is electric and hybrid day so far... saw two Tesla roadsters w/ tops open, a black Tesla Model S, a Leaf, a dark red Fisker Karma, 3 Lexus HS250hes, a 1st gen Honda Insight (badging removed and a Transformer badges added along w/ 'ASU' in chrome letters on the rear) and my coworker's new silver Honda Insight (replaced his silver Civic Hybrid that got totalled recently).... all within a 1/2 mile of my office.

Also saw a Tesla S today, white. If we weren't opposite each other at a light, I would never have noticed it- pretty generic.
'50 Merc 2-dr, black, chopped & shiney, Fing sweet, motorin'. I love these, HAVE to get one someday.

'66 LeMans 2-dr hardtop, aqua, buddy bought it & we trailered it home. Needs a motor/trans, but is pretty solid for a Jersey oldie. Looking forward to getting a nice 389 in it.

In a center city parking lot today, another Regal GS with NY plates in Black Diamond, as I left. Rare birds.

Earlier on the street walking, a Murano Cross Cabriolet with all windows and top down, just sitting there in a space. Talk about wide open space from above...

Saw a black & red Ariel Atom in traffic this morning...first time I'd ever seen one on the road...what a cool car. Though I think it would be much more fun on a winding backroad than in 5 lanes of morning rush hour traffic.....also saw a white and gold Dodge Ramcharger, battered and worn but still on the road..one of the last sold in the US ('90-92 or so).

OC Spring is always a real treat, after the doldrums of winter. I wish I could have gone this year, but I had stomach problems last week and didn't feel like traveling. Dad and his wife were there in her green '72 LeMans. Thanks for posting, Balthy!

Very cool OC car cruise sights. Even living near for years, I've never been but my brother goes every year and enjoys. Got rainy over the weekend throwing event off a bit, but great photos above.

'75 Pontiac Trans Am, 400/4-spd car, no powertrain, bad body cancer, stripped.

'66 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 60 Special, all black, crusty from sitting but savable.

'64 Pontiac LeMans 2-dr post coupe, extremely rough, no motor/trans/title, asking $1500, I wouldn't spend over $250 on it.

'61 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 sedan, all black, factory air, rough & rusty, interior gone.

I haven't seen one this clean in a long time. The sticker on the back of the car showed that it had come from a dealership in Portland. That would explain the lack of rust. I'd love to have this car.

That is a nice one! After a disastrous start with the FWD X-bodies, these A-bodies just ran and ran. I still see a lot of these on the road, even here in PA, where rust usually cuts a good car's life short.

Last week...forgot...a white 2006 or earlier GMT-800 Silverado Extd Cab 4x4 Hybrid. Totally looked normal until I saw the green "Hybrid" badges on the front doors. Little old man driving it from the gas station. One of the first, before the new gen switchover.

Don't know if I've ever seen more than 2 of these total.
